I am actually glad that I gave the second season of Good Morning Call a chance, because now I am not sure why I did not enjoy the first one as much. I think I might need a certain mood for dramas, and the first season was fun, but there were a lot of things that bothered me – but there were not-so-good things in this season too, only I did not mind them as much. So was it my mood or did the second season really get better?
Story: I did enjoy this season tremendously in spite of all the cliche because at its core it is about two humans growing together and it is adorable. Both of our MCs just need a little bit more confidence in themselves and their relationship.
Characters: There were still a lot of cliche and tropes that I did not enjoy like all the males in the show falling for our clumsy main character – okay, this is an exaggeration, the important males in the show, and even if I am super clumsy so related a lot with Nao, she was quite annoying sometimes. But, as I said, Nao is young and she is growing up, plus she is a great human being that cares a lot about the ones around her – she and Uehara just need to learn to TALK MORE ABOUT THEIR FEELINGS!
Anyway, I kinda fell for Natsume and now I want to cut my hubby’s hair short (his hair is longer than mine), dye it red and make him wear hats – he will look absolutely horrible but closer to Natsume’s look!
Overall: I am giving this season a 7/10 which is a lot higher than the first one which I marked with 4/10 – the thing is the 1st season has more episodes too and it’s easier to get bored by it, plus as I said in the beginning maybe I just wasn’t in the mood for it. Anyway, I actually quite enjoyed the 2nd season and even though it is an original story and no longer based on the manga, I decided to start reading the manga because I cannot get enough of our characters – unfortunately that means no Natsume in the manga *cries*.
