The Boy From Ipanema depicts a love story between the main characters. They meet on a beach and overtime they slowly develop feelings for each other.

The boy gradually overcomes his memories from his first love as the focus on the relationship deepens.

This is a simple story without any confliction caused and purely concentrates on the main characters.

Would like to make a note that the animation in this was done creatively and beautifully.

The music was simple, easy-listening and fit perfectly into the movie to create an 'airy' yet beautiful feel.

I gave a low rewatch value due to the reasoning that the story is simple, and therefore it will be boring to watch again.

I personally enjoyed watching this movie, I've read the manga series and fell in love with them. I liked the whole concept of how the main characters think differently from the 'norm' and how they are strange with thier obession with death. Maybe that's just me.

This isn't really a horror movie or anything. You're able to see how two high schoolers who never spoken before discover they share the same interest. Death.

Story 10- The main characters unravels the mystery of a murder case in thier neighbourhood not to solve the case and catch the murderer, but to see the corpse themselves.

Acting 10- I thought the acting was brillient as I felt I could connect with the obession the characters have.

Music 9- The music genre fits wonderfully as it beats up the tension.

Rewatch 9- Again I enjoyed the movie, may have something to do with loving the manga so much.

Some people may not agree with me and I admit some parts were a little slow but it's definitely worth the watch. There isn't much blood, 'scary' disturbing scenes for a murder/crime movie, however overall I loved the movie.

One word: HILARIOUS

This is about a guy who leaves home to study music at a university. His ambition is to one day produce indie pop songs to the world. There's just a small problem.

He takes a job part-time as a lead singer of a metal band. Although it's only a temporary job... or so he thought.

It jumps a few years later and he's still in the band but now it's becomed a extremely popular underground metal band. He produces music for the band but clearly this isn't what he wants.

The band rises up worldwide becoming the next number 1 heavy metal band and in the end, they have a duel against a former heavy metal artist, Jack.

This is absolutely funny, couldn't stop laughing throughout the whole movie. A must watch if you're looking for some comedy.

After watching this movie I was genuinely touched by the storyline.

Asato moves to a small run-down town to be closer to his mother, who is in a nearby jail. There he meets Takeo, a troubled guy with a dark past who gets in fights alot. Takeo discovers Asato's powers to be able to transfer pain/scars/wounds from other people unto himself. This is soon the beginning of their friendship as Asato is able to rely on his first friend. Little by little, they start making improvments in their lives.

Takeo past unravels as he tries to deal with the pain. What is it that Takeo can't let go of from his past? And why is Asato's mother in jail?

With power Asato is able to transfer pain from the people around him, but how much pain can he inflict himself?

This focuses mainly on the emotional feelings and the importance of life. This is not a movie for those expecting fast-paced action. Like I said, this is based on feelings and the meaning of friendship.

Now this definitely was enjoyable to watch, finished this in 3 days...
however I felt some parts were rushed and had to really think, "what the heck just happened?" I won't give examples of what I mean but it would have been nice if they summarised some sections more clearly.

That aside, great story, with lies, betrayal, manipulation, romance, revenge, murder and humour... awesome combination!

I love watching dramas where you can really see drastic changes in a persons' attitude... watch as greediness consumes a person to the point of destruction and insanity... :D Hehe

Music was so-so, not that great or memorable and not something I would watch again anytime soon.

My rating is 8.5, if some improvements were made here and there, and wrapped up the ending more nicely, then it would be a outstanding drama. :)

I can understand that the ending was rushed due to the cut of a few episodes, however with the episodes that were done I felt there was lots of flaws and that this drama could have had so more more potential.
The acting could have been better, with the main female (the mermaid), I felt she was acting a little.. 'over the top'. Okay she's gonna be all girly around the guy she likes, but she took it a little too far. Also, with the chef, i didn't feel much emotional response from him towards the girl he liked. This made it slightly confusing (and a little annoying) that the 'signals' were not that.. clear.
Thus, I couldn't even understand what was going on in the love side of things and the drama was supposedly focusing on love but, didn't really know where the storyline was heading.
I thought there would be more about the mermaids, maybe show flashbacks of her home underwater or struggles she's having with legs. Nothing. It barely mentioned anything about mermaids as again the drama was about love.
I don't even remember the music- obviously had no impact.
At the end of each episode, I didn't get the reaction 'omg what's going to happen next? I have to watch the next episode!' Or something would happen but doesn't follow through in the next episode.
Okay, that's a lot of negative comments I've said- I don't like saying bad things but this drama had so much more potential.
Although it was a good watch and there were lots of amusing things that did happen.
