I had eagerly anticipated this drama ever since the casting news dropped, mainly because of two reasons: my admiration for Lee Dong Wook and my affection for the "PiChi Couple."

Initially, I didn't set high expectations for the story, intending to enjoy watching the leads fall in love again. The first two episodes confirmed my expectations of a cliched plot, but episode 3 pleasantly surprised me with character growth and a more substantial plot than anticipated. As the series progressed, I found myself increasingly drawn to the story and characters, including the side characters, all of whom shared great chemistry.

One aspect I particularly appreciated was the portrayal of a healthy relationship between the main leads, devoid of traumatic pasts. Their pure and naive love was endearing, and I found myself swooning over their cuteness. Their relationship emphasized trust and comfort, which resonated with me deeply.

The CEO Yeon and Choi-Dan couple were standout side characters, providing moments of laughter amidst the romance.

Although I was disappointed by the inevitable breakup trope, I appreciated that the drama didn't prolong the angst excessively.

Regarding the music, I enjoyed all the OSTs, especially "Make it Count," "What if Love," "Goodbye," and "Photographs."

Overall, if you're in the mood for something light-hearted, I wholeheartedly recommend this drama. I certainly plan to binge-watch it again soon.

Acting is the saving grace

I initially tuned into this show solely for Luo Yunxi, without much expectation due to past experiences with modern Chinese dramas. However, the trailer intrigued me, and I hoped it might surpass my expectations. While it wasn't bad, it also didn't stand out significantly.

Pros:
The acting stands out as the strongest aspect of the show. Each actor delivered their role excellently without going overboard.
As a fan of "Till the end of the moon," I particularly enjoyed the chemistry between GYZ and FMF. The main leads also had good chemistry, with many scenes feeling natural.
Luo Yunxi's performance deserves special mention, as he consistently elevates his acting in each role. This is arguably his best modern drama performance to date.
ZRN shows potential as one of the standout actresses in the Chinese entertainment industry, especially in emotional scenes.
Even the side characters portrayed their roles convincingly.

I appreciated the music of the drama, especially a violin instrumental piece that became an instant favorite.

Cons:
The plot and execution fell short. While there were enjoyable scenes and episodes, the overall story lacked coherence and direction.
The portrayal of kissing scenes was a letdown. While I didn't expect passion, I hoped for better expressions from ZRN during these moments.
As a medical drama addressing diseases like Huntington's, I wished for more exploration of the struggles faced by HD patients and their families. The focus on family and love drama detracted from the potential emotional depth of the show.
Overall, I'd recommend watching it once if you're a fan of Luo Yunxi or enjoy modern medical dramas in general.

NOT YOUR USUAL LAKORN <3

Out of all the lakorns I've watched, none have come close to the emotional rollercoaster that was Kluen Cheewit. However, My Forever Sunshine (MFS) has managed to surpass even that level of emotional investment and chaos in my life, thanks to Mark Prin's captivating performance.

Typically, I'm not a fan of hate-to-love relationships in dramas, finding them somewhat unrealistic. Yet, MFS is an exception. It masterfully navigates the hate-to-love dynamic, presenting it as a journey of two individuals grappling with their emotional scars and baggage. One character, in particular, is the primary cause of the other's emotional damage, setting the stage for a compelling narrative of self-discovery and love. While their road to each other is rife with obstacles and challenges, what sets their journey apart is the mature evolution of their characters along the way. This level of character growth is unprecedented in the lakorns I've seen thus far. Despite being adapted from a novel, MFS possesses its own unique charm.

Certainly, there were aspects of the lakorn that left me wanting, but the overall journey was immensely satisfying and wholesome. While it may not be everyone's cup of tea, I highly recommend giving it a chance. So, buckle your seatbelts and prepare for an unforgettable ride.

Sweet Romcom but not too tropey

When I first caught wind of this series from its trailers in March 2022, I was immediately drawn in by the leads and their undeniable chemistry. However, the initial episodes failed to leave a lasting impression on me, and my disappointment persisted through the first few episodes. Despite considering dropping the series after the fourth episode, I decided to stick with it due to a lack of other options. To my surprise, the series took a turn for the better after episode 4.

What initially seemed like filler scenes in the early episodes revealed themselves to be hidden gems, providing depth to the characters and enriching the storyline. While the screenplay may appear disjointed at times, I believe it was necessary to cover the multitude of topics within the Korean entertainment industry in the allotted time. The series delves into various aspects of celebrity life, fostering a newfound empathy for these individuals.

However, if you're seeking a romcom that solely focuses on the main leads or specific character dynamics, this series may not be for you. Nevertheless, the chemistry between the characters, both main and supporting, is undeniably compelling and authentic, adding to the overall appeal of the series.

Quirky romance between fairy and the woodcutter(s)

Initially, I stumbled upon this drama out of sheer boredom, with no particular expectations. However, the first episode immediately drew me in, leaving me eager to delve deeper into the storyline. Upon discovering that it was an adaptation of a webtoon, I couldn't resist spoiling myself by reading ahead.

To my surprise, I found myself falling in love with the webtoon's story, sparking a curiosity to see how it would translate onto the screen. Adapting such a complex webtoon into a drama was no easy feat, and I must commend the makers for their bold attempt.

Now, onto the drama itself. It delivered everything I could ask for: past lives, reincarnations, mystery, romance, relationships, and, most importantly, bromance. While the love triangle may frustrate some viewers, it served a crucial role in advancing the storyline, so I encourage you to simply sit back and enjoy the ride.

If you're on the fence about watching this drama, my advice is to give it a shot. And just a heads up: don't take the CGI too seriously.

My Comfort show

I've been an avid kdrama viewer for over five years, and "The Tale of Nokdu" has secured its place among my all-time favorites. This is the first time I've awarded a drama a perfect score, and for good reason. From start to finish, "The Tale of Nokdu" exceeded all my expectations, leaving me pleasantly surprised at every turn.

My initial attraction to the drama stemmed from Lady Kim, but it didn't take long for me to become completely engrossed in the world of the widow's village. I felt deeply connected to each and every character, a rare occurrence for me in kdramas. Not a single scene felt unnecessary or disrupted the flow of the story.

The writers masterfully kept me hooked, constantly leaving me wondering if we would indeed get a happy ending. As for the acting, every actor delivered stellar performances, with Jang Dong Yoon shining brightly in his dual roles as Lady Kim and Nokdu. The chemistry between the leads, both on and off-screen, was explosive, making me ship them fervently and leaving me questioning if they were truly acting at all.

I could go on and on about this show, but let me keep it concise: Don't hesitate, go watch "The Tale of Nokdu" now. You won't regret it.
