Unique K-drama worthy of binging.
I initially started watching with some bias because I don't like idols acting - they usually don't convey much emotion. However, I love Got7 so I was excited to watch it, and it was surprisingly good. The beginning had a great hook to keep me watching, and the length of the drama wasn't so dragged out that I would lose interest. The plot developed at a steady pace, not focusing too much on one scene.
The plot was the best part - it was unique, still brought in classic cliches without making me cringe, and had an air of suspense. This reminded me of sherlock, or the good Doctor, as in having supernatural capabilities that allow them to solve issues magically.
The two main actors, Park Jinyoung and Shin YeEun, were cute, had great chemistry, and did a decent job acting. I was touched at the part where Lee Ahn broke down in the apartment after finding out the truth - the emotions he showed was amazing.
The aspect that caught me off guard was the side-story of Kim Kwon and DaSom. Sungmo's emotional conflict was fittingly complex to give the story dimension that we don't usually see in K-dramas. I felt hurt with Jisoo, and concern for Sungmo knowing he cares about her but also has so much difficulty opening up and showing emotion. At the scene where Jisoo dies in Sungmo's arms, I was completely heartbroken and I also saw so much development in Sungmo's character by then.
Highly recommend this drama to anyone looking for a non-cliche detective/suspense drama that still has fluffy cute parts.
As a final note, why can't the main actors like actually kiss? I felt so uncomfortable watching that fake kiss (another reason why I dislike Idols acting)
