A Recipe for Disappointment with a Side of Unexpected Gems"
Drama Review: "This Love Doesn't Have Long Beans"Main Couple: Where’s the Love?Alright, let’s talk about the main couple—who I guess were supposed to be the stars, but were more like background noise. They decided to skip any kind of emotional development and jump straight into NC scenes faster than you can say “skip intro.” Honestly, it felt like they thought constant make-out sessions could substitute for chemistry. Newsflash: it doesn’t. No butterflies, no sparks, just two people awkwardly thrown together. At this point, I’ve seen better chemistry between two forks in a drawer. And don’t even get me started on the love triangle they tried to pull off. What a joke! Kluer, the third wheel in this so-called triangle, was as useless as a chocolate teapot. The writers must’ve thought, “Hey, let’s make things interesting by adding another character!” But all they did was add a bunch of pointless scenes that did nothing to build tension or make us care. Kluer’s role was so pitiful and forgettable that calling it a triangle is an insult to geometry. And here’s another gem: Chef falls in love with Plawan, a contestant in a cooking competition he’s organizing. Conflict of interest much? It was painfully obvious that Plawan was going to win, despite his lack of actual cooking skills. I mean, I’ve seen more believable victories on reality TV cooking shows. This whole setup was just a lazy excuse to push the two together. “Wow, you can’t cook, but you won my heart (and this contest) anyway!” Seriously, at this point, I was rooting for the food to taste better than the storyline.
Second Couple: The Real MVPsNow let’s shift to the second couple, JJ and Methas—the real heroes of this show. If you want to see enemies turn into lovers done right, these two are where it’s at. JJ was kind and straightforward, while Methas had that whole “I’m falling for you because you’re actually a decent human” vibe going on. Every handhold, every look, every damn thing they did had more electricity than a lightning storm. Their first kiss? Butterfly central! Honestly, these two could’ve just stared at each other for 10 episodes, and it would’ve been more interesting than the main couple’s soap opera.
Plot: Like Swiss Cheese—Full of HolesThe plot of this drama was about as consistent as my sleep schedule—non-existent. They tried to make us believe that Plawan fell for Chef because of his basil-scented aura. I’m sorry, but if love could be sparked by the smell of basil, I’d have fallen for every Italian restaurant I’ve ever been to. The whole betrayal storyline? An even bigger joke. Chef finds out about Plawan’s betrayal, and instead of the expected drama, revenge, and tears, we got a quick apology, a shrug, and bam—everything’s good. They could’ve shown Chef’s actual rage, his comeback plan, or literally anything else, but nope, they chose to give us more basil-flavored nonsense.
Ending: Faster Than Fast FoodThe ending was rushed like someone had a deadline and forgot until the last minute. They packed what should have been a good five episodes of drama and resolution into ten minutes. Chef finds out he’s been betrayed, has a tantrum, forgives Plawan, and they’re back to being besties in record time. If only real life worked that way! I swear, I’ve seen more compelling conflict resolution in kindergarten. It’s like they were so done with the show themselves that they just hit fast-forward on the entire ending.
Final Thoughts“This Love Doesn't Have Long Beans” had potential but ended up serving us a cold, flavorless dish. The constant NC scenes were like over-seasoning—too much of a good thing becomes a bad thing. The main couple lacked any real emotional depth, while JJ and Methas were the only saving grace, giving us some much-needed realness. Sadly, a half-baked plot and a drive-thru ending ruined what could’ve been a solid drama.Benz and Garfield improved and absolutely nailed their roles, but the rest of the cast? Let's just say I’ve seen more convincing acting in shampoo commercials. If you’re here for the story, prepare to be disappointed. If you’re here for JJ and Methas, well, at least they make it somewhat worth the watch. Overall, I’d rate this a 4.5 out of 10. Watch it for the secondary couple, but don’t expect much else.
I know it's late but I wanted to share my thoughts so...

A must watch series.
The storyline is quite unique. The emotional rollercoaster is enjoyable.
I've watched it 3 times.
It's a mixture of comedy, love, suspense, thriller, sadness, happiness.
The bonds are spacial. Now days drama are mostly focused on NC scenes and mess up the storyline and plot actually they don't care about it.
But it doesn't mess up things, it's a perfect mixture.
Over all I love it.
