This drama is one of my personal favorites because despite the heavy drama on the plot itself, it managed to deliver the message to the viewers in a light and not so draggy way. It was actually kind of realistic compared to most dramas. I personally commend on how the characters are developed like real persons and not that in a fictional drama. Emotions were depicted as how a real person would feel it, definitely not exaggerated. It showed life's uncertainties and the reality that people, most of the time, don't know what to do when faced with adversities. It was also straight to the point and didn't include unnecessary drama and it has subtlety. I honestly admire all its aspects: the cast, story line, soundtrack and even cinematography and I hope that more dramas could have this high quality.

This drama is a big disappointment. Though I didn't have doubts that it can't surpass the first season's success, I didn't expect Dream High 2 to be at this level.
The story might have been well-grounded since it looked into the realistic bitter side of artists, which is really promising. I think the disappointment was also because I expected too much on the first episodes thinking that it can hold onto a potentially great story line, which obviously didn't materialize.
Halfway, it became a love story where you'll be amused and annoyed in guessing who the hell ends up with who. The "dream theme" is slowly vanishing. The "super idol" thing going on is rather dragging rather than exciting.
I felt the casting was a waste since they weren't able to shine in their respective characters. Their skills on stage are unquestionably exceptional yet weren't brought to the spotlight properly. Their acting was acceptable, I guess since it's not awkward to watch.
One more thing is that the drama doesn't have anything to keep it together. I actually tried skipping an episode and felt that I didn't miss anything, though I eventually watched it anyway.
One scene that gave me hope for this drama was Jin Yu Jin's dancing. It's a must watch! The dance, I mean.

This drama breaks the Japanese trend for detective dramas and other heavy plot dramas, since romance themed jdoramas only come once in a while. The cast are perfect to their roles, Oguri Shun as the indifferent computer genius and Ishihara Satomi as the typical nerdy clumsy girl. Aibu Saki is a bit underrated for her role, but still displayed great acting. The two leads have brilliant chemistry, and though the rich man, poor woman theme is almost a cliché, this drama had a breakthrough by making the characters grow by not standing by the extremes, meaning the guy doesn’t need to be the richest in the planet, and the damsel in distress need not be the poorest girl alive. It is a breather for the usual issue of social status, and it focused on the change they have to go through because of love. The subtle comedies, exceptional characters and a heart fluttering kiss scene make this drama not something you dare to miss.

The story is fresh and interesting, enough to say it's a drama I have yet to see anywhere else. The characters are lovable especially the idiotic and naive (and really beautiful) Serina and the comedic Jinnai. It was a drama that kept me wanting to know more about the characters, and it was granted as the drama portrayed even the stories of supporting characters. Every 45-minute episode is worth watching because it is not easy to guess what will happen next, unlike in other dramas. I also believe it doesn't fit the detective/mystery genre, since the story focused on the transformation of Serina to a strong and beautiful woman (as what the introduction in every episode says). This is a heartwarming drama, at times heartbreaking, which will keep you loving it until the last scene.
