Addictive

*outline*
I'd been putting this drama off for a long time because it just didn't seem that interesting... but woah- I wanted to watch the whole thing in one go just by watching Ep 1 Part 1/5. I think I got a little addictive. By the way, this drama isn't for those who can't handle: multiple heartbreaks, 'best friend can't confess his love', a lottt of crying, etc. Yes, there's more to come. (also read 'rewatch value' for more outline)

*thorough*
STORY : It was a very cliche story line, and honestly everything was expected. But I won't hold that against them because even though I sort of knew what was coming, I couldn't help but continuing to watch. In the end I really did get hooked on it even though I expected the worst possible reaction from me. The whole story was a climax, and even the screenwriter even gave us a cruel resolution but I loved it. My feelings hadn't been thrown around like a basketball for a while so I actually loved the recurrent heartbreaks. The pacing was amazing too. It didn't move too fast like I expected it to, and I think this is the only twist I got that I really didn't see coming. I do wish there was a better ending though... it felt a little empty.

ACTING/CAST : Hats off to OffGun for portraying the character's roles so well. Gun made me repeatedly cry for his stupid feelings and I don't regret it. I do wish I could have seen more of the other ships, though. One of the things I liked the most about this drama was that I ended up shipping everyone with each other. The reason for this is because usually I feel sort of gutted about the fact my ship never comes true even though I knew it'd never happen. However, Off made up for himself as he attempted to reform. Basically, everything about this drama surprised me.

MUSIC : I love it. That's all I have to say, really. I couldn't get over Fake Protagonist by Getsunova. I'm sure if you're trying to find a song from Theory of Love that you don't know the name of it's this one. It's very catchy and I really can't get over it. I could listen to it 20 times over. Even the intro wasn't boring to listen to, although it being just a theme. The music didn't disappoint me at all in this drama.

REWATCH VALUE : Despite finding this drama so good, I doubt I'd rewatch it for the pure fact there's not much from the story you actually remember after watching the drama. I've forgotten some of the things that happened before OffGun got together. All I remember is Gun's pain that I really empathized with. Literally, I cried so much. It didn't disappoint me but I don't think this is a good drama to watch if you're emotionally sensitive or if you don't like over dramatic and overly cliche stories.

*p.s.*
I would definitely recommend this to a friend, whether they're a beginner Thai BL enthusiast or an old one. Although this is your average cliche story line for fanfictions, maybe, that isn't the case for Thai BL's. So it's definitely something new and different to watch. You don't see this sort of story everyday.

*recommendations*
'Until We Meet Again' for heartbreak
'My Dear Loser' for playing with your emotions

Over dramatic more than anything

*outline*
Unfortunately one of the lead actors sort of over dramatized their role. They kept crying, which I understand because their emotional state must've been affected by what happened, but did they really need to cry that hard? The transitions in the drama just didn't let me feel empathetic with the story. It felt like a reality check until maybe the last 2 episodes.

*analysis*
STORY : The context seemed really interesting to me (basically, what the description says) but the rest of the story sort of disappointed me when it became all climactic and Teh just couldn't hold back his tears. His situation actually made me feel really sorry for him and I totally empathized with the whole story until it just got too much. It felt like the focus was more on Teh crying than continuing on with the story. The pace also felt off a little, because of it. However, the confessions actually made me feel a lot more lighter, followed with the rejections which disappointed me but motivated me to keep on with the story. During the first 3 episodes I really wondered where exactly the story was going, because it didn't at all seem like anything was happening between Teh and Oh, so I read a spoiler to also motivate me to keep going.

ACTING/CAST : Teh's role just disappointed me. I've already mentioned this but I just think this role wasn't right for Billkin. Or, it was, but his acting just seemed a little amateur. I feel so bad saying this but that's really how I felt. Almost like he didn't understand his own character's feelings so he assumed how he should act for his role. He seemed to follow the script and the story - basically the whole moral - perfectly well, but the emotions he relayed just weren't it. It didn't make me cry in turn, like Krit did. Every time he cried it actually broke my heart. And I knew myself that Teh was going through a lot worse until Oh got confused of his own self. Quite heartbreaking, actually. Maybe if Billkin could get more into character or someone who's been through a similar situation could take on the role, that would've made me agree with the hundreds of others who rated this 10 stars. I think most of the background actors also did quite well in relaying emotions. Except for Teh's mom. Just like Teh, his mom was too over dramatic. I understood her emotions well but her acting seemed off too. It even made me think 'like mother, like son'. Hoon was probably my favourite character, after Oh.

MUSIC : I didn't like the music. I actually muted the drama every time the music came on because I felt distracted each time. Usually I'm quite a detailed person, and that means my concentration levels are decent too, but that wasn't the case this time. I just really couldn't empathise at all from around episode 3 or 4 onwards.

REWATCH VALUE : Despite my disappointment in some features of the drama, I have to say this was definitely worth the watch if I ignored some things. I'd probably watch this again just for the very ending. The ending didn't disappoint me at all. I actually liked that everything was finally over; all the climaxes, all the closeting, etc. The tiring part was all over. Most others seem to like this drama so that's probably the only reason why I'm even putting it at 7. It would be worth the rewatch for others, just not me.

A game of cat and mouse

*outline*
[You may wanna watch this alone. CAUTION : MATURE THEMES e.g. sex and nudity]
I'm the type to judge a book by its cover, so I didn't have high expectations from the very beginning due to the plain poster and the weird title. In fact, I never would've watched it if I didn't come across it on dailymotion while I was watching a different movie. It popped up on my recommended so much that it became annoying and the title actually ended up interesting me. The title, despite the absurdity of it, actually fit the story extremely well. The cheese representing greed and the cornered mouse representing one or both of the characters.

*analysis*
STORY : The first thing I have to mention is that the movie had a sad ending. I was so sure of myself that there would be a happy ending but- unfortunately there wasn't. The confessions and rejections were actually really good, the rejections didn't exactly make me sob or anything but they were probably better than the confessions. One thing was the nudity - there was SO much of it that at one point I had to take a deep breath to calm myself down and carry on watching. The pacing was a little slow and some scenes even made me feel like they didn't need to exist. This actually longed the movie out a little too much. The fact the plot was unique (to me, at least, because I've never come across with anything similar) was what truly made me give a 10 rating. Yeah, sure, there was a lot of beating-around-the-bush and the pacing was slow, but the uniqueness of the plot is what motivated me to continue watching the movie.

ACTING/CAST : Narita Ryo did so well in portraying his emotions and make his love seem so real and alive. The fact he was like an open book throughout the story really made me look at myself and think "damn sim, why can't you do better". So hats off to him. Okura Tadayoshi's character was supposed to be a little closed off, I assume. I couldn't exactly see much love when I looked at him except for maybe his wife. His character was a lot more complex compared to Narita's, whose was more simplistic. Okura portrayed more 'want' rather than love, which could also be his way of showing his affection but I'm not really sure. His character was a little difficult to understand.

MUSIC : I don't remember there being music but I gave it a high rating anyways because throughout the movie the instrumentals that came up sounded nice to the ears. I'll really have to rewatch this movie to keep a look out. The story actually distracted me from listening out to any tracks.

REWATCH VALUE : I don't know if I would rewatch but I think I might want to revisit the story and explore the characters a little more now that I know the ending. I would probably miss the characters a little, especially Imagase Wataru. There wasn't any comedy or anything that especially attracted me to him as such, but I just really loved his role.

*recommendations*
I would definitely recommend this to a friend, but I also wouldn't due to the fact there's nudity and I have a rep to hold :0.
I don't have any specific recommendations to share either but;
Visit my Custom List "Asian BLs" which includes Korean, Thai, and Taiwanese BLs to see some of my watches. I don't actually give very low ratings because I believe every story has a moral and that every love is shown in its own way which may be what romance directors attempt to portray. If you're like me then definitely check them out !! ^.^

Perfect amount of everything

*outline*
I was trying to rate the drama harshly but I just couldn't because I liked it so much. I've already watched the drama twice in the past month or so. It's not a cliche, the pacing was perfect (except for EP6.5), and I really got a little attached the characters. It felt like my first time watching a BL even though it isn't and I still can't explain why properly.

*thorough*
STORY : It was something new. I'd never actually watched a drama with the protagonists the way they were and their past like how it was. Usually in every drama, the protagonists have a past - sure - but in this short drama, their past is the reason they actually kept seeing each other and I live for it. Sometimes after I watched the whole drama, the love did feel a little unclear. However, when I'd replay all that happened, I'd always think otherwise. Though I will admit, the story line of the drama does turn for a cliche ending. The pacing was amazing, the feelings and relationship wasn't rushed and that is one of the things that caused me to rewatch this drama.

ACTING/CAST : The level of empathy I felt was through the roof. As I said, it felt like my first time watching a BL and it always does for this particular drama. The characters and roles are unique. All the characters made me cry and laugh along with them. My favorite relationship in this drama was between Gao Shi De and Pei Shou Yi, though. I live for their brotherhood.

MUSIC : The first time I watched the drama I didn't pay much attention to the music but it got me vibing to it anyways and it was the same the second time I watched it. Yes, I ended up adding it to my playlist and I'm listening to it as I'm writing up this review too, actually. (YU - Aqua Blue and Alex Chou - Hard to Let Go)

REWATCH VALUE : I don't think I need to explain why I rated the rewatch value 10. Well, I've already watched it twice, and the drama is short and sweet so it's perfect for a quick watch. I'd rather watch this than any movie out there because it just gives me movie vibes anyways.

*p.s.*
Yes, I would definitely recommend to anyone, whether old or new BL enthusiast. I usually stick to Thai BL's and am not willing to explore but when I heard about this and how great it was meant to be I watched it as soon as the drama had finished airing (I hate waiting for the next episode to drop). And I have no regrets.

*recommendations*
'Until We Meet Again' is a Thai BL but it gives the same vibes... except the characters met much earlier than you think... they don't only have a past, they have a whole generation they went through (can that be classed as a spoiler? oops-)

From romance to mystery/thriller

*outline*
The ending was a real shame. Throughout the entire movie, despite knowing the ending would turn to be a sad one, it felt a little cut off. Unfinished, maybe. And the continuous shifts from romance to mystery to thriller became an addictive endless cycle. It really draws you in.

*analysis*
STORY : The whole thing was painful to watch. It started off with pain and ended with pain. The fact that the plot was so uncliche really kept me on my toes. The pacing was brilliant and although some of the scenes were irrelevant, it set the base for the emotions running through the characters' heads and their background stories.

ACTING/CAST : Choi Tae Joon unfortunately always does bad guy in disguise roles. I was hoping to every God possible that that wasn't the case this time, too. Welp. The ending was a little confusing so I still don't know whether I could class him as a bad guy after all. He just wanted a friend and that just hits me in a sensitive spot. However, everyone did well acting-wise, even the background actors. No one came out of role or felt useless to the plot. Moon Ga Young did really well, as a rookie in 2014, too. She's still the same Moon Ga Young we find today in True Beauty.

MUSIC : All I remember is themes played throughout the movie, I don't remember a song. However, I'll still give it a high rating because the movie was just so good. It was clearly well-thought out and well-written. So much effort must've been put into the story that I don't even think any thought had to be spared for the music anyways.

REWATCH VALUE : I would definitely rewatch this if I ever miss the story. But the reason I came to watch it was for some bromance which I unfortunately didn't get. I really had high hopes for some BL themes, especially with Choi Tae Joon. But oh well. I wasn't disappointed.

*recommendations*
I don't really have any recommendations for something similar. But if you haven't already, go watch Choi Tae Joon's dramas. He mostly plays supporting roles but they never really disappoint. He has a story of his own to tell through his actions and thoughts all the time which is probably one of the reasons I love his dramas and the characters he plays in them. Moon Ga Young is a good actress too, so watch some of her dramas definitely. However sometimes she plays irrelevant roles or roles that have been too detailed or over dramatized.

DISCLAIMER: watch ALONE and with HEADPHONES

*outline*
For the love of humanity please follow the title's instructions... from the very beginning it opens with a bang. Metaphorically and maybe even literally. It felt like a journey of pure psychopathy. I'm literally still questioning what the whole thing was even about...

*analysis*
STORY : I never wanna watch that again. I don't even know why I did, but I did and I acknowledge my sin. The whole plot was just totally out of it and I really wonder what the movie makers were thinking during filming and deciding to publish it. I would've given a higher rating if the story actually made sense but it didn't... at all. The only reason I give it that rating was that the story was unique and had a backstory.

ACTING/CAST : I don't know whether all the sex and stuff was fake but it really looked in-genuine. And the fact Ryoji's character was how he was? That was disturbing enough to give anyone nightmares.

MUSIC : I swear there was only one theme anyways? I mean, yeah, it suited the whole story but it was just one piece of music so I can't give it a higher rating than that anyways. It just set the mood, I guess.

REWATCH VALUE : No way. Nuh uh. I'm not gonna do that to myself. My poor eyes.

*recommendations*
Unless you're into some hardcore stuff like BDSM, pain kink, etc, DON'T watch this. It's not for just anyone to watch and I'm not criticizing anyone's ability to watch this stuff but like- I'm not gonna try explain myself.
I have no recommendations for you if you liked this... I've never watched anything like this so please bear with me...
Thank you-

Heart-breaking tragedy turns into heart-warming love

*outline*
Ever since I watched this for the first time I've never been able to get over the ships. I mentally kept cooing over OhmFluke (more about their real life personas than the characters they played, but same thing) and BounPrem (both WinTeam and BounPrem). Actually, now that we're on the topic have you noticed OhmFluke and KaoEarth don't get shipped much? At least, as compared to BounPrem... It's because they're too innocent. Sigh- Continuing, pay heed to my next words: it doesn't matter what I say next, or what other reviews you read... you have to watch this anyways because it's a classic Thai BL
(and it's a classic for a reason).

*analysis*
STORY : Right at the beginning, you're immediately hit with emotions (despite the calming and smooth intro). There is heartbreak in every episode, to be honest... and so, please do not wear makeup (especially around your eyes) when watching this or your eyes WILL sting. I would know. Overall, the story continues on with the perfect pace, nothing seems rushed and this even makes the time skips (between DeanPharm and KornIn) make sense throughout the story. The first meeting of the main couple was so touching, it's one of the best first meetings I've ever watched in any BL (including Korean, Taiwanese and/ Japanese BLs). There wasn't any unnecessary drama and there was a clear goal in the UWMA Crew/Staff during the making of this title because nothing was overdramatised as such. The first kiss was sweet and unexpected, despite the fact we could tell what was slowly cooking between the leads. This title also had a nice variation of moods throughout, there was comedy, romance and tragedy. There is one thing I didn't like though, and it was the unnecessary scenes where DeanPharm seem to be in their own world and some weird instrumental starts playing in the background... it just didn't fit and it sorta ruined the mood. It was cute at first, but then it just got too much and too long (a short waste of time, unfortunately). Another thing I didn't like was the fact we didn't get a complete story between Win and Team, their story wasn't clear (although we're supposed to be getting one soon so- I have high hopes) but that could be because the story was focused on Korn, In, Dean and Pharm. And who would've known the most shipped couple would be the one that shows up the least (sorta). Overall, everything about this drama is sentimental reincarnate. And yeah, there was a sweet and complete ending.

ACTING / CAST : My favourite character was Manaow - she was probably what made the drama a little lighter with her comedial lines. The fact such a mood-maker character was made for such a tragic love story was quite relieving and nice to watch and it really lightened the mood. The friendship that I liked the most was Manaow and Team's. They bickered like mother and son - absolute goals. The background actors also did quite well (including side actors who didn't play a very big role, or weren't so important). I also didn't feel any toxicity from the characters. However, I felt that Fluke came out of role sometimes as Pharm's character got too passive and didn't seem to reciprocate Dean's feelings. (Especially the kisses, passive kisses are just not it. It ruins the mood.) Usually characters like Win cause me to cringe so bad because of the 24/7 smirk they've got plastered to their face but Boun actually played it so well, it seemed like it was made for him. Any other actor, and the ship just wouldn't be the same, the drama just wouldn't be the same, and Win just wouldn't be the same. This also made me anticipate his appearances in the drama.

MUSIC : It was definitely perfect during the sad scenes, it helped set the mood. The intro was also quite nice and calming to listen to and I've also got to credit the singer for being able to portray a sad emotion within his singing too. There was this one instrumental (that sounds like a fairy tale) that repeatedly came on in some sweet scenes (especially during KornIn's scenes) and it's my favourite out of all the instrumental bgm's I've ever heard in any drama but I still couldn't find it after all... (Tip: if you're looking for any bgm just type in 'until we meet again instrumental bgm' on YT and some pop up.)

REWATCH VALUE : It's high in the sense you don't forget the characters and the more you watch it, the more you are hit with emotions (especially sadness). This is probably because you already know what's going to happen. Also, before I knew it I just ended up rewatching it without thinking too much (however the drama is very long, so rewatching is only a good idea if you know you can evenly space it out through some days or you know you have time to binge, etc) but the reason I did rewatch it is a little unknown to me... I feel an attachment to this drama more than anything.

Should've listened to Soompi...

*outline*
Honestly the episodes were a little too long for my liking. This is probably one of the reasons why I didn't prioritize this drama despite the fact my friends and news sources were continuously encouraging me to do so. However, I just don't roll (?) too well with dramas that have long episodes because they end up becoming...- no, feeling a little too meaningless to me?

*analysis*
STORY : Right from the very beginning, there was a good pace to the drama and the build-up of emotions were very interesting to watch. In conclusion, from the get-go it was a really nice watch. I could see myself watching it with my mom, actually. You can watch this with anyone - friend, family, or even a partner. One thing I have really got to mention, though, is the fact that there weren't any corny scenes like you'd find in other kdramas; I actually found this quite shocking because... c'mon. Every kdrama is corny, and more so: every kdrama made from years 2016-2019 were super corny. It was a real cheesy era. Directors focused more on making love look the most ideal, instead of approaching emotions and feelings in a realistic way. The firsts the main couple (and the side couple(s)) experienced were very beautiful. I felt warm inside and this feeling carried out to the very end. I just wish the drama wasn't so lengthy, however now that I finished it it feels like I just watched a really good movie (that I won't be able to get over). The ending felt a little saddening to me because it felt incomplete, until I replayed everything that happened during the last episode - this changed my mind, and satisfied me in the end. Throughout the drama, I even imagined it becoming a webtoon - but, a shorter one; definitely. Or even a book.

ACTING/CAST : One of the best things about this drama was the acting, hands down. If anyone else had played any of the roles, it wouldn't have shaped up the drama so well. This I can say with no doubts or regrets. I especially like how Lee Jae Wook played a really nice character instead of his usual antagonist roles. The character suited him quite well. There was no character I didn't like, mainly because I didn't find any (or much) toxicity within anyone. Unlike what I usually see. Except for like... 2 characters, but they're irrelevant and they're meant to be the antagonists anyways. Every actor had a role to play, which they did very well. Usually I get tired of the female lead (in almost every drama this has happened) very easily. The reason for this is because they lack character development and they're too consistent. However, I actually found good reason for why Bae Ta Mi's character was the way she was.

MUSIC : This was definitely the best part of the drama. From the very beginning of the drama (yes, episode 1) I'd already begun searching up OSTs for Search: WWW. The music was really calming, not the usual unnecessarily upbeat, pop-py music you'd hear in other kdramas. No offense but they make me feel like I'm watching something childish more than anything. Like Peppa Pig. On the other hand, the music which showed up in this drama sounded nice to the ears throughout (no matter which track I heard next, it also suited the scenes). There was actually one instrumental that I really liked, but it was hard looking for it because I couldn't find it anywhere but I plan to continue my search for some time. (If I find it, I'll definitely drop it in the comments.)

REWATCH VALUE : It's probably very high for others, but that's not the case for me. I don't know if I'd ever come back to this drama because I felt complete when the drama ended, I didn't see any reason for me to revisit it. Sure, it was a beautiful drama but the end actually felt like 'the end' to me. So I doubt I'd miss the characters too, but we shall see in the future. Though, on an ending note I do have to say the title is beautiful. It was clearly well thought-out. You don't see the reason for the drama title until the very ending, and I literally screamed "roll end credits" when I watched the particular scene that must've inspired the name of this drama (or vice-versa).

An endless cycle

*outline*
I only realized in the last episode of the drama's cycle of: mourning, sex, love, mourning, sex, love. These themes - mourning, sex and love - are the three most common that come out throughout the whole drama. This tells you just how unique the story line is. Although the love between Kido and Kijima is simple, their story is not. And that's probably one of the things I kept watching this for. I wanted to see them become something.

*analysis*
STORY : Well, for starters, I have to mention that the story was indeed a roller coaster. It felt like we were playing a game of 7 minutes in heaven. They be happy, open and feel free together behind closed doors, but not so much when they came out to the real world. It took me a while to form this analogy but it just fits. In simple words - yes, they over complicate their very simple feelings. Well, one of them does. The other doesn't. The cliche leads actors; one wants to be open and show the world who they love proudly, and the other one doesn't. It's a similar concept, but not the exact case for this story. Despite the whole on and off between them, I've gotta say the last episode was the best episode out of them all. After the first 9 mins, my heart was beating so loud I could hear it through my ears. And, though some might say there's a sad ending, I don't think that's the case. I actually liked the ending because I genuinely believe everyone got what they deserved after all. The confessions were so good and the pacing followed a well-thought structure. There wasn't any beating around the bush and no one to play the villain. It was some sort of real life scenario.

ACTING/CAST : The cast did exceptionally well, especially the main roles and Gamoda. The drama sort of revolves around the three but if I heard this from someone else without even watching it I'd get confused so I'm telling you to definitely watch the drama if you wanna know what exactly I mean. It literally revolves around them.

MUSIC : I don't know why but I started laughing at some of the music that came up. I killed the mood of the scenes myself to be honest. I'm the perpetrator, forgive me lmao. Otherwise, the music was well composed and suited the drama perfectly. I mean, that's always the case in Japanese dramas, movies, and anime anyways. But it had to be said, right?

REWATCH VALUE : I personally don't see myself rewatching this. In fact, I'm probably done with this now that my review's finished and I'm done writing it out.

Equally as good, if not much better, than the drama

*outline*
This movie made me speechless to the point it was difficult coming up with a headline for my review. I spent 3 minutes in front of an A4 sheet of paper to try think of headlines but none really seemed good enough. All I have to say it you have to watch this movie, and watch it after you've watched the series.

*analysis*
STORY : The story followed the description but at the same time it didn't. It went off on a tangent at some point, towards an even better plot. The mixture of bittersweet was simply addictive. I became obsessed with the movie. And after finishing it, it felt like I'd finished a whole series rather than a 2 hr movie. Felt even longer than the drama actually. The confessions and the rejections were just amazing. It didn't hit as hard throughout the movie, but it definitely gave me a reality check at the end. I was trying to partially distract myself from the movie with Pringles but that didn't work because the damn can gave up on me and I actually ended up sobbing at the end. The happy ending really overwhelmed me. I would watch this movie again and again. This has gotta be a movie that makes a great impact on not just me, but everyone. There is a moral and you'll only understand it after watching the movie. And try to concentrate on it, because losing track of the plot is not worth it. Honestly, this movie doesn't need your utmost concentration but doing so will just cause you to really get lost and get a sense of real life according to LGBTQs' point of view. The director relayed the viewpoint brilliantly.

ACTING/CAST : Ironic actually. In the drama I favored Nagisa more. However, that isn't the case in the movie. Shun made such a great impact in this movie. As soon as I saw him I just fell in love. It was clear from his facial expressions that he had a deep background. One thing I won't clearly understand is the reason they broke up at the beginning of the movie (as mentioned in the description). They were clearly perfect for each other, even more so than the drama version of Nagisa and Shun.

MUSIC : Was there any? I don't know and I don't care. I'm giving it a 9.5. The story distracted me from hearing any music or any tune anyways.

REWATCH VALUE : Bro, 10. I didn't even have to think twice. If I could I'd rewatch it right now but- sigh- school. Revisiting this movie, and most probably the drama, is definitely what I see myself doing sometime in the future. However, if you wanna cry... then rewatch the movie right after you've already finished watching it. I haven't done that yet but I'm genuinely considering doing it. Maybe.

Over complicated

*outline*
The only reason I decided to watch this is because the first story (Night Bug) seemed interesting and that someone was going to happen between the boys. In the end, I was quite disappointed with the whole movie.

*analysis*
STORY : The whole thing, Night Bug and One Night, seemed like the director had ideas for like 3 chapters for some book and just attempted to cram both in one whole movie. And failed. The whole thing over all was really confusing. I got what was happening by the end of the story but as soon as it ended I got so confused, thinking "wait... that's it? nothing else?". Then again, it felt like nothing much was happening between the main characters for that story anyways. The second story was way more disappointing than the first. I got the overview of what was happening, and yeah there was an ending to the story (a sad (?) one) but it seemed so bland and it didn't really feel like anything was really happening except for some flirting here and there and some blushing. The only reason I understood the context of both stories is because I read the description.

ACTING/CAST : Okay, although the plot was too complicated in a very short amount of time, I've got to give creds to the actors for their acting. They did brilliantly in acting out their parts and didn't fall out of character. But, of course, because it's a gay movie written in 2014, it was quite amateur in the sense it didn't seem like the love was there in the first story, and the acting felt a little forced for the second.

MUSIC : Was there any?

REWATCH VALUE : I personally wouldn't come back to this story. It probably wouldn't even live in my memories. And I doubt many others would want to come back to the movie either because both parts have no plan, are too complicated to understand, and have sad endings. This is probably one of those BLs that will enter my subconscious, knowing it didn't make me feel anything.

*recommendations*
I wouldn't really recommend this to anyone, especially not to someone who's just entering the BL field of dramas and movies.
I don't have any recommendations to give either, because I can't think of a movie that is in any way similar to this one.
However, if you want something of a lighter mood to make you feel better after this movie, watch either 'To My Star' or 'Color Rush'. Both of those movies did exceptionally well.

Watching Season 2 immediately !!

*outline*
This is another one of those dramas I've watched where my first impression on it wasn't all that excited. But I'd heard about this drama from many sites and sources online so I finally got around to watching it.

*thorough*
STORY : It's a very cliche plot, from the beginning to the end - mind the rest of the ships though. I'll admit, most of the ships I didn't expect but while I watched the series I started imagining each relationship more and at the end I just ended up loving each couple equally. However, the confession scenes for the side couples were the best, the main couple's confession scene was way too longed out. But it was constructed that way for a reason, so I totally understand. Even the rejection scenes were to die for, but thank goodness this drama didn't make me cry too much. Yeah, sure, there were many climaxes that kept getting in the way of their relationships but no one stayed mad or angry for too long, and before I knew I was smiling at them like an idiot. The pace for this drama was perfect too, not a single scene was wasted. I just wish there was a more finished ending to the series but S2 is out soon and I'm starting on that ASAP. I also realized how deep my love is for BL. I'm practically married to the ships--- fite me :0

ACTING/CAST : Individually calling out my favorite characters would get too long so I'll just say my general take on this series was just way too good. The main couple, though, were perfect for each other. And this is probably one of the very few times I think this about drama. Especially when they smiled, that just changed the whole mood of the scene. They all acted so well, even the background actors. (Side note: I was actually surprised over Ryan Peng's appearance. I didn't know him before this drama but I was so confused over why he was speaking in a different language, with a different person doing a voice-over.)

MUSIC : I actually didn't like most of the tracks, but the reason I gave the music a high rating is because the music made up the whole drama. Watching through every episode, nearly every scene had background music - whether vocal or instrumental. It also fed to my love for the ships as I really vibed with the scenes and empathized with each character more easily.

REWATCH VALUE : Despite loving this series so much while watching it, I slightly doubt I'll come back to it. But I will definitely miss the characters and their ships. Probably even binge-watch some videos for the ships or the making of the drama. If it takes too long for Season 2 to air then I will definitely watch this again just to relive and revisit the story

*recommendations*
I would definitely recommend this for anyone.
'Why R U?' and/ '2 Moons' if you're into the same character development.

Elongated

*outline*
I really support the message of the story and what was trying to be portrayed to the audience indirectly. The drama was very motivating, especially to those who feel insecure about themselves. This is one of the reasons I really liked the drama. I actually learnt a few things from this drama so I definitely recommend this to anyone and everyone.

*thorough*
STORY : The story had a touch of cliche feelings, but it was also unexpected because the fact that everything was being played out was in a way I hadn't seen before. Sun and In were a bit obvious though... but I didn't mind because I liked the pair anyways. I wasn't very favorable of Oh and Peach's ship from the beginning even though I knew they were the main ship. I've just watched way too many BL's, so I shipped Oh with Pong majority, if not all, of the time. The pacing would seem a little slow while watching the drama, but once you've watched the whole thing you may realize every scene was worth the time and wait. At least, I felt that way.

ACTING/CAST : Oh's character being so complex and compound was actually played quite beautifully. I wasn't expecting his character to be so deep with a backstory. Most would brush this off, thinking nothing much of it but this remained in my memory. Usually, the audience would just talk about Oh's feelings he portrays physically/verbally, but the fact he had to deal with so much and come out of his shell must've been so difficult for him. I say this hypothetically, but honestly that was the most beautiful part about this whole drama so this will be at the top of my list for a while. The other actors also did well, but Oh stuck to me.

MUSIC : I didn't really like the songs in MDL Edge of 17... They're not the type of songs I listen to, anyways. But they did set the mood and managed to make me empathize with the story and the actors so...

REWATCH VALUE : I'm not sure whether I'd rewatch this but because it's such a good drama I'll leave the rewatch value a little high. This isn't the sort of drama you can finish off in a day, but it's nice to watch an episode or two a day, unless you become addicted like me and end up watching like half the drama within a day...

*p.s.*
I would definitely recommend this to a friend, whether an old Thai drama enthusiast or a new one. I don't usually watch straight Thai dramas because I can no longer watch straight dramas normally... but this one proved otherwise. If it's really good, I would watch it.

*recommendations*
'Together With Me' is similar in the way, it has straight and BL couples, but it does focus on BL. Unfortunately I don't watch straight dramas, so this is the only one I can think of to recommend.

If you don't cry, you're not human

*outline*
[You may wanna wear headphones and/ watch this alone.] I usually don't swear and I'm guessing I'm not allowed to either because there may be some 10 year olds reading this but- f***.
Don't get fooled by the poster. Watch the trailer. But even that won't compare to what actually happens in the story. Both of them fooled me so well and now I'm crying at 3 am as a result of it. This movie was a real pain in the behind.

*analysis*
STORY : What the heck? I was expecting some crime, mystery, maybe even thriller. But all I got was beautiful pain. Before I knew it, the climax had come and I thought the climax had already happened. Yeah, I got fooled, I got that- but did the director have to do me so dirty? Now... I'll give a real analysis; if you consider what the ending is like, you'll end up hating all the characters and I don't blame you. The ending will also make you realize how slow the pace of the movie is. In the beginning, sure, you'd think the story is getting somewhere as soon as the first scene appears. And it is, until it isn't linked to the end much. The filler scenes just added to the heartbreak at the end. Even the confessions and rejections in this movie hurt. Beautiful. But it still hurt. I don't think I'll be able to get over this movie, especially considering how I won't be able to sleep and it's 3 am on a school morning. I wasn't expecting much from this movie from the very beginning but I didn't realize when it got so addicting. I was expecting something a little lowkey, something that happens between friends. But it didn't end there, there was definitely more to the movie than just that.

ACTING/CAST : Every actor did beautifully. There weren't many background actors, but even they acted well in their roles. Rather than fantasy, this movie was based off on reality and was more like a wake-up call. There wasn't much of a moral to the story but the characters acted so well that I almost feel like I missed what the moral is, and just cried over the movie instead. Kwak Shi Yang has come such a long way since 2014, clearly. I didn't know he'd also played these roles before and hats off to him for making it so big in the entertainment industry. He acted so well that it feels like 2014 Kwak Shi Yang is the same Kwak Shi Yang we find in 2021. I feel like a proud mother even though I'm not a BIG fan. I couldn't love his work more after watching this movie.

MUSIC : Okay, the background instrumentals fit perfectly according to each scene. But there was only one song dedicated to this movie. This movie does seem a little low budget but I also doubt it because a whole school must've been hired out for this, and all those students must've been paid for their roles too. However, I still understand. After all, even 2 songs are a bit much for a movie. It seems very unrealistic to think about unless you consider Bollywood. They're just extra anyways. The song played in the last scene really didn't fit, but I don't feel disappointed because as soon as I saw the credits roll, the waterfalls started again and this time I was sobbing over the unfinished ending. Really, I even went back to the MDL page for this movie but I didn't even see a Night Flight 2. Tsk, ruthless directors. They really left it to our imagination.

REWATCH VALUE : If I rewatch it, I'm still gonna cry and I know it. So I doubt I'll rewatch it for a while because now I have to find a light drama, and MAKE SURE it's INDEED light. And that it doesn't fool me.

*recommendations*
Would definitely recommend this to friends, but be mindful of the two mature scenes when watching. This is why you have to watch it with headphones/alone. Don't watch this with someone straight, they won't be able to handle it honestly. Actually, no one would. I'm practically married to BL and even I couldn't-
Watch more of Kwak Shi Yang. When I said his acting hasn't changed, I wasn't joking. However, I've only seen straight dramas of his; this is the first time I've seen him acting as a gay character. Despite that, I assure you won't be disappointed by his acting. It's beautiful.

longggg asf for no reason whatsoever - but good for a single time watch

plot line got messed bc of the multiple plot twists the writer decided to add... fr wanted it to be over by ep 27 bc i was tryna hold on but omfg 10 new plot twists and climaxes happened towards the last 5 long a-- episodes

the acting was decent but not amazing yk? like where was the bloody chemistry and buildup to falling in love between the main leads- the buildup was rubbish, needed a lot more work

ibsr the theme music during the scenes carried the entire show, way more than the acting

didn't let me put rewatch value any lower
