A very good drama
I very much enjoyed this, an excellent show! The ML put in a stellar performance, as we are used to when it comes to him. Most of the other characters were also excellent. Scheming, action, and the general interactions between characters were done well. The ending was good and it closed off all the plots.
As for negatives, the last few episodes seem a bit rushed and generally lower quality than the rest of the drama.
The FL was subpar in my opinion. Her acting was average, chemistry with the ML was almost nonexistent, and her presence seemed forced in most of the content. It doesn't help that the rest of the female characters in this drama are all excellent, I guess. The White Fox, Qing Nao, Qing Feng, the two sisters, Shu Xiu, and even Miss He He, they were all superb, even with less screen time than the FL.
Emotional moments were a bit hit and miss due to the lack of build-up. I imagine that they are more impactful in the books. I guess we can't blame this on the producers, who are forced to squeeze everything into 40 episodes.
My rating - 9/10

A very entertaining watch
Queen of Tears is the story of Hae In, a chaebol heiress looking to get into the Billion Club. She is someone who is unable to express her feelings properly and is not very aware of the feelings of others. Someone like this would be a nightmare to deal with in real life, albeit this is a drama, and we have the advantage of seeing her side of things too. She is an excellent character, overall one of the most iconic FLs in Korean dramas. Her improvement over time is for me one of the best things about QOT. Kim Ji Won does a great job of portraying her.The ML is a stereotypical cardboard romance ML, a perfect man who is good at everything and loves the FL because of reasons. He has zero goals and dreams except loving and helping the FL. Like the FL, he doesn't cover himself in glory in the beginning but he quickly gets his head straight and becomes the FLs anchor. Those who are concerned about my description, don't be, Kim Soo Hyun's magnificent performance elevates this character at the same heights as the FL easily.
The cinematography is top-notch, OSTs are memorable and well-chosen. The acting here is second to none.
The only bad thing about this is the writing. The author is very talented in writing emotional scenes, but horrible in developing a decent plot.
I already rewatched a lot of scenes and I click on the videos from QOT more often than not when they pop on my youtube feed, so I would say that this drama has a high rewatch value overall.
And one more thing I would like to add, the ending scenes were some of my favorites from all the dramas I've ever watched.
9/10 from me. Everyone should watch this!

My favourite xianxia to date
I gave this straight 10s. Is it a perfect drama? No, of course not, no drama is. But I felt that if any deserves a perfect score, it's this one.Everything about it was top-notch, from production to acting and chemistry not only between the leads, but between the whole crew. No bullshit misunderstandings which plague this genre usually, and we even get to see the wuxia kryptonite in action - a very satisfying ending.
Although the cinematography and choreography are close to perfect, the real engine behind the high quality of this series are the characters. Although there is a plot about saving the world and whatnot (as you would expect from a xianxia), this is a story about two people: the feisty and straightforward FL and the cunning and shameless ML. Everything gravitates around them, willingly or unwillingly.
That is not to say that the supporting characters are weak or irrelevant, almost all of them show great growth during this drama, some even jump from unlikeable and straight-up villains to fan favorites.
I don't want to say more, to avoid spoilers, but you should give it a go, if this genre interests you. I dare say that you won't regret it!
