cool it with the anti sematic remarks.

YOU have a short nose.

Since you do, I'll be generous in providing you with what you're unable to do yourself.......research the 'meaning of someone has  a short nose'. LOL. Give me a minute to stop laughing here. Oh, gosh. *cough*,  wiping eyes* okay, okay, slowly pulling myself back together so I can give you the meaning of the saying.....alrighty, dear, it means someone lacks detailed knowledge or understanding about a topic, essentially only grasping the very basic information and not going deeper into the complexities or nuances involved; it implies a lack of depth in their knowledge, similar to how a short nose physically appears less prominent or detailed. Same can be said when someone doesn't know a thing about someone else.

You have a short nose for thinking my comment was "anti sematic", and dear, please do learn to spell correctly.

Why was I laughing so hard....bc  your accusation of ME being an antisemite was the perfect example of "having a short nose". Simply bc you didn't understand the meaning of a saying that our elders have said practically from the dawn of time.

https://letmegooglethat.com/?q=short+nose+idiom

There is not a single webpage or article about it, not even native english speakers knows about it.

Please stop making stuff up to explain your dog whistles

when we are talking about isreal you're talking about non existing idiom about "nose" seriously???

 >elders have said practically from the dawn of time.

let me guess your elders are from germany?

I'm a native english speaker and I know about it. I'm also an elder who heard it from my elders. We have more than quite a few idioms in my region of my country I was born and raised in. If you'd checked my profile, you'd know what country I'm referring to, and what region.

 dramalistsite:
Please stop making stuff up to explain your dog whistles

I'll give you another idiom that pertains to this specifically...Tilting at windmills:  to attack imaginary enemies or to pursue a goal that is not real or important

You're dismissing me as an elder bc you don't understand what I'm saying. You are twisting yourself into a knot for an unimaginable offence that isn't there. I'll make it much simpler for you....referencing OP bidulgi's opening comment, a longform reply.... Thank you for more indepth incite into the controversy for the users who have an open mind and are willing to learn. For the other users who didn't bother, or care, to do further research before getting butt hurt, they could've alleviated their frustration and anger over an issue that has been proven to be (exclusively) Netflix allowing a mistranslation of the newscast's announcer's scene. Native Hangul speakers and viewers who don't require translations did not hear what the International viewers READ from the subtitles. That's why there isn't a controversy in SK. Netflix gifted the mistranslation to the International viewer. WHY is another question.

The idiom......Just bc you haven't ever heard of it doesn't mean it doesn't exist. I do use idioms more as an elder. What I fail to do is not understand that young people don't understand what they mean. So I guess longer explanations in my comments will be required going forth to educate the young ones. Though you didn't after I'd explained what someone having a short nose means.

LOL. Hardly. I see what you've tried to do, and it isn't working. I still can't figure out how in your mind the idiom amounts to Jews/antisemitic. You'd have to explain it to me. Please enlighten me as to your thought process. Your question regarding "germany"  I do understand. THAT offends me greatly. Germany wanting to 'genocide' the Jewish people offends my humanity. My ancestors fought against Germany and Hitler in WWll. My people were and are anti-fascists.

Another thing you fail to do is to understand someone can be FOR/support humanity. ALL of humanity. The Middle East is an extremely nuanced political area. Yes, Israel is at war against Hamas. On the other hand, Hamas has put the Palestinian people in the cross hairs.  I despise Hamas, and anyone who supports them. Hamas needs to be wiped out for the region's good, as well as for the Palestinian people.

Again I ask, please explain your thought process. My DM is open.

Are you saying Entire internet and english speaking world don't know about this idiom expect you?

We can find akkadian dictionary (language that dead for over 2000 years) to local slangs of people lives in northpole in google but somehow idiom from the most spoken language in the world is not documented 😂

All i am asking is single legit english article or webpage that mention your "short nose"  idiom.

I copy/pasted the explanation of "having a short nose" directly from the Google search. I don't have patience with others who don't want to do their own research. I haven't run across a complete list of all southern sayings/idioms. Some are obscure, yes, but it doesn't mean they aren't used.

Are you not able to provide how you derived at "anti sematic" from "having a short nose"? I've explained my thoughts. Someone with a short nose takes everything at face value and doesn't do their research, like Netflix allowing the mistranslation for, as yet, unknown reasons.

If you can't explain your process, then could you explain why you think "short nose" is referring to Jews? I specifically told you my stance isn't anti-semitic. At this point, you've already made your mind up by tilting at windmills. I'm sure you haven't heard it either, or seen a single legit english article or webpage that mentions that idiom either. By focusing on what you derived at, your mind is already set.

Understanding takes cooporation, and an open mind.

You don't have time and patience to copy paste a single website link but have time to write 887 words and 5158 characters reply 😂.

Consider me an ignorant and "don't want to do my own research"  enlighten me with a single source  that uses this "short nose" idiom?

Since you  already "copy/pasted the explanation" from google , why don't you just link it?

 LucyL:
YOU have a short nose.

Hi mam, sorry to quote you. My (long) comment isn't related to the short nose but there's no way to mention without quoting, so that's why....haha

I guess people rage about the final episode is understandable. Even OP suggested this reference should be excluded altogether because it didn't give any added value to the drama.

Expecting viewers to later do a further research over a wrong translation is overstretching the purpose of an entertainment. No offence but if they want something informative/educative that's less fiction, they would never choose anything from romance genre in the first place.

Then again this drama had a chance to totally fictionalize everything, yet they chose the name of countries that were too close to the existing ones and to make matter worst these 2 countries are still at (1 sided) war at the present and people can be bombed as we browse MDL.

I suggest everyone to look up to a Jdrama, VIVANT and see how a fictional country can be done right. Not only that, even Muslim community among other ethnics were also portrayed in VIVANT but without a single issue arose. Since there's heavy propaganda on MDL recently saying that Muslim will behave against anything critical about their religion. Some even make a list of innocent users (calling them bots) just because they interact/react to the anti-Islam comments.

That being said, I also agree that SPAMMING shouldn't be allowed. But simply expressing frustration (on one comment, not in multiple comments) shouldn't be considered spamming. Simply rating drama 1/10 due to frustration shouldn't be called BOTS.

Timizero I have some questions to ask you because I really don't know some things, apart from all the controversy and the accounts that were put like trolls when they weren't, there are several doubts in my head and maybe you can resolve them, it's okay if you don't have an answer to my questions.

I know perfectly well that the moderators have worked too hard, especially on this drama because everything became chaos. But if most of the reviews are good, I know that a lot of reviews have been removed because one user complained that her review was removed and was angry, but when I read the review I knew why it was removed and it was because they said that people who we had liked the drama, we were Islamophobic and a lot of insults that I will not repeat here, but why didn't the drama's score go up despite that cleanliness and that most of them are positive reviews? Accounts that spam (for example yesterday morning I saw a person who posted the same thing 20 times and for me that is spam, you can correct me if I am not correct) or send hate, I think we both know which account you are referring to, what really happens to those accounts? Are your accounts deleted or are your comments simply deleted?

Because I know that this user we are talking about and in the comments section you told me about what this user had done, she is still active and continues commenting, obviously she is very careful and I have not seen that she has alluded to what you told me. And she must have said serious things because several users were talking about her.

Since if the low score is not due to trolls or bots, what is it due to? Since most of them are positive reviews, obviously there are negative reviews but they are few and they are directed directly at the drama like 'this seemed ridiculous to me for x things' and so on and it seems to me that it is totally reasonable because everyone has their tastes and I have also left negative reviews according to my tastes.

That's what he couldn't fully understand.

 TimiZero:

The 'research' I'm referring to is the user (who refuses to explain how they derived at someone's comment of 'having a 'short nose' idiom as that commenter being anti semitic). and You're right, we can't expect viewers to seek the truth after seeing all the lies which leads users to believe in the false narrative.

At this point, heads should roll, the episode retranslated, if not scrapped all together,  and apologies submitted.
