Is anybody else on here a fan? It's one of my favorite anime and I love Natsume and Nyanko-sensei. For some reason I can really relate to Natsume and I think he's a great guy. I've watched every episode and each one was amazing. I feel like it's a really underrated anime since not many people from America know about it unless you're a big anime fan like me. My favorite scene was when Natsume turned little and he was kept in this jar and Nyanko-sensei transformed into Natsume, so his parents wouldn't think anything was wrong and he kept on embarrassing Natsume.
Aww The opening credits are really cute. I definitely want to watch this one. :)

I'm also a huge fan. After watching the 4 seasons, I decided to buy the manga volumes as well as the DVD. My favourite episodes were the episodes with the fox child and when Natsume, Nyanko-sensei raise the dragon chick and when Natsume goes back to his home town and meets the youkai sitting on the tree he once met as a child. Theres so many more but I can't remember. I should re-watch it soon.
Did you guys hear about the special episode thats coming out next month?
Also hoping a 5th season soon.

If you like Natsume Yuujinchou, you should definitely check out Mushishi. It's got kind of the same vibe and it's flawless.
I barely survived this first season. It was too mellow. I tried watching the second season, but ended up dropping it with 6 episodes left to go.

Oh dear. I might have to save this for when I'm in the mood for mellow anime.

Who knows? You might enjoy it more than I did. I'm all about the demons, but most of the time I need my explosions along with them...lol

Let me know what you think about it when you decide to give it a try.

Sorry, I didn't see this earlier. I think I'll start it next week and I'll post my thoughts here. ^^
Ok, this discussion was a pain to find but I thought it deserved to be resurrected because of the fifth season.
As you may know, there was an appreciation project campaigning for the fifth season here. As a silent supporter, I'm glad for their success.

Thoughts on new season:
I'm digging the new animation style and everything. Natsume's expressions have become more... expressionful.
The focus is shifting toward Natsume's family and stuff to carry the plot forward. Some people still complain about how slow it is, but its better to go slow than squeeze all plot content into the fifth season.
I love Natsume!!! It's one of my favorite anime of all time! (I'm more of an anime viewer than drama fan, I just joined this site from an anime site cause of friends). I was extremely happy when they announced the fifth season and it's so good so far. I don't find it slow at all, cause the pace fits the mood of the show perfectly!
It's not among my favorites, but it's definitely a great anime.
The series has a good mix of calmness and excitement. Glad to see some character development over the seasons, too. Not too much, but at least there's something. Else it'd get boring, probably.

I was excited when I saw there's gonna be a new season but I didn't get to watch it, yet. I will do so in the near future, though.
Though I must say, it lacks a little when you compare it to Mushishi.

If you like Natsume you should also check out Hotarubi no Mori e.
It's just a short movie, but it's great and gives the same vibes as Natsume (being from the same creator and all).
