Netflix announces the official main leads of "Sweet and Sour Chicken"!

Ryu Seung Ryong, Ahn Jae Hong, and Kim Yoo Jung are confirmed to work together for the upcoming series "Sweet and Sour Chicken."

On September 30th, Netflix confirmed the main leads of the upcoming original series "Sweet and Sour Chicken." Ryu Seung Ryong, Ahn Jae Hong, and Kim Yoo Jung have been picked to portray the main characters. 

"Sweet and Sour Chicken" will be based on the webtoon of the same name by Park Ji Dok. The story will unfold when Min Ah is turned into a sweet and sour fried chicken caused by a mysterious machine. His father Choi Sun Man and his intern Go Baek Jung will work together to bring her back to being human and unfold the mysteries regarding the machine. 

The upcoming series will be the next project of director Lee Byung Hun who's known for his works "Unicorn," "Again My Life," "Tazza: The Hidden Card," "Be Melodramatic," "Extreme Job," and more. 

This will be the reunion of Ryu Seung Ryong and the director. The two worked before for the film "Extreme Job." The top actor will play the role of Choi Sun Man, the father of Min Ah and the CEO of the machinery company. 

Another reunion that we will witness is the reunion of Ahn Jae Hong and the director. The two were part of the "Be Melodramatic" drama. Ahn Jae Hong will portray the character named Go Bae Jung. He is an intern at the machinery company and has secret feelings for the president's daughter, Min Ah. 

Lastly, Kim Yoo Jung will play the role of Min Ah. She enters a mysterious machine thinking it is a fatigue recovery machine. Because of this incident, she turns into a sweet and sour fried chicken.

"Sweet and Sour Chicken" will reportedly have 12 episodes and it will exclusively be available on Netflix. Production will begin this coming November. 

This will be the official comeback drama of Ryu Seung Ryong. He last starred in the 2020 Netflix series "Kingdom: Season 2." The top actor will also join the upcoming Disney+ original series "Moving" that will air this year. 

Ahn Jae Hong on the other hand is set to also lead another Netflix series titled "Mask Girl" with Go Hyun Jung, After School's Nana, Yeom Hye Ran, and Choi Daniel. He will also participate in the upcoming films "High Five" and "Rebound."

Lastly, Kim Yoo Jung is set to star in the upcoming Netflix original movie  "20th Century Girl" with Byeon Woo Seok, Park Jung Woo, Roh Yoon Seo, Kim Sung Kyung, and Jung Suk Yong which will be released on October 21st. She is also part of the film "Puppy" with Cha Tae Hyun, Yoo Yeon Seok, Park Ji Hyun, Ryu Soo Young, and Lee Seung Hee. She is also currently starring in the variety show "Young Actors' Retreat" together with the "Love in the Moonlight" main leads.
