Jang Hyuk and Yoo Joon Sang will reportedly lead a new KBS historical K-drama
Kim Soo Hyun and Jo Bo Ah are the next big thing on Disney+.
On August 26, Disney+ officially confirmed that the upcoming K-drama Knock Off will premiere in 2025 and will be led by top stars Kim Soo Hyun and Jo Bo Ah.
Knock Off will tell how an ordinary man struggled during the IMF crisis and later became the king of the counterfeit industry. The K-drama is set in the Asian financial crisis from 1997 to the early 2000s.
Kim Soo Hyun and Jo Bo Ah will work alongside renowned actors Yoo Jae Myung, Lee Jung Eun, Kim Mu Yeol, Jo Woo Jin, Kim Eui Sung, Hello Venus Kwon Na Ra, and more. There were reports that actors Woo Do Hwan and Kim Nam Gil will make a special cameo appearance.
Director Park Hyun Suk (Uncontrollably Fond and Stranger Season 2) and writer Han Jung Hoon will work together for the anticipated Disney+ K-drama. SLL and Arc Media will produce the upcoming series.
Knock Off will reportedly have a total of 9 episodes and nationwide and international viewers can watch the series only through Disney+.
In the series, Kim Soo Hyun will give life to the role of Kim Sung Joon. He was an ordinary employee who became the king of the counterfeit world. Due to the IMF crisis, Kim Sung Joon got laid off from work. While looking for his livelihood, he stumbled upon the counterfeit market and became the vice president of the Saemmool Market.
This will be the first project of Kim Soo Hyun in Disney+. This year, he successfully led the K-drama Queen of Tears which also dominated the Netflix charts.
Jo Bo Ah will portray the role of Song Hye Jung, the ex-lover of Kim Sung Joon. She currently works as a police officer whose focus is on tearing down the people behind the counterfeit items. She will clash with Kim Sung Joon because of the counterfeit market.
This will be the grand comeback of Jo Bo Ah in K-dramas after two years. She will also lead the upcoming series Hong Rang.
