The upcoming crime thriller K-movie Nocturnal, starring Ha Jung Woo and Kim Nam Gil, has confirmed its release date for February 5.
Nocturnal is a film that depicts the relentless pursuit of Min Tae (Ha Jung Woo), who strives to uncover the truth of the fateful night when he is informed of his younger brother's death, his brother's wife gone missing; and a bestselling novel that foretold the events.
Ha Jung Woo portrays Min Tae, a man determined to uncover the truth about the night that turned his life upside down. Having left his gangster life behind, Min Tae tries to live a quiet, ordinary life. However, when it comes to his only family — his brother — there's nothing he wouldn't do and nowhere he wouldn't go.
Ha Jung Woo shared, "Min Tae is a very bold and fearless character. His actions, choices, and anger following the death of his only brother were relatable, and his journey intrigued me. I focused on expressing raw emotions by capturing what I felt moment to moment on set."
Kim Nam Gil takes on the role of Ho Ryeong, a novelist who writes the story of Min Tae's younger brother Seok Tae's (Park Jong Hwan) death.
Ho Ryeong becomes a best-selling author with a novel based on a story told by Moon Young (Yoo Da In), who takes classes at a cultural center. One day, the police visit Ho Ryeong, revealing that Seok Tae has died in the exact manner described in his novel. To protect his novel and his reputation, Ho Ryeong sets out to find the missing Moon Young.
Kim Nam Gil described his character, Ho Ryeong, saying, "Among the people agitated by Seok Tae's death, he is not a character who directly reveals emotions. Yet, driven by the responsibility of having written about someone's death in his novel, he embarks on a quest for the truth."
Nocturnal is set to be released in theaters on February 5.
