Girls Generation's Seo Hyun was seen using a cane while being the MC of the 2024 KBS Drama Awards.
On January 1, Seo Hyun's agency released an official statement regarding the concern of fans with Seo Hyun using a cane for an event.
Yesterday, the 2024 KBS Drama Awards were held privately and Seo Hyun was the MC for the event. Many were concerned when they saw the idol actress appear on stage with a cane.
Namoo Actors then shared an update regarding Seo Hyun's situation. According to the agency, "Seo Hyun was injured while filming for her upcoming K-drama. She is currently receiving treatment for her leg injury and is recovering."
The 2024 KBS Drama Awards was originally scheduled for a live broadcast on December 31. However, the live broadcast was subsequently canceled due to the Jeju Air flight disaster. The broadcast channel then proceeded with a recorded broadcast, which will air on a later date.
Seo Hyun is currently filming for her upcoming KBS K-drama Taking the Male Lead's First Night.
Taking the Male Lead's First Night will revolve around a male and female protagonist unexpectedly possessed into the roles of minor characters in a novel. Following a shared intimacy, a passionate romantic relationship develops between the leads. The K-drama is a fantasy romance set in the Joseon Dynasty. The story will be depicted from the web novel/webtoon of the same name by Hwang Do Tol.
Seo Hyun will be working with Ok Taec Yeon, Kwon Han Sol, Seo Bum June, and Ji Hye Won in the upcoming series.
Director Lee Woong Hee and writer Jeon Seon Young will work together to create Taking the Male Lead's First Night.
Taking the Male Lead's First Night will exclusively air on KBS in 2025.
