The main character is the same. They tried to give her the same hairstyle, the same clothing. You also have the rich boss in love with a beautiful girl who is also in a relationship with the boss' sweet best friend who knows the secret of the main girl. The same drama...but VERY different.
Both dramas are similar in reversed kind of way; in Down with love female lead is pretending to be gay and in Personal taste male lead is pretending to be gay. Both dramas have situation where lead is in desperate need of job/housing and that's why they end up pretending being gay because they at first thought they don't like the other lead and it would be totally harmless. Due to this many funny situations occur and leads end up falling in love even though the other lead is still assuming her/his crush is gay.
In Down With Love, the lead girl pretends to be a lesbian in order to get a job as a nanny. In Personal Taste, the lead guy pretends to be gay in order to be the lead girl's roommate. Not surprisingly, these people fall in love.
They both have a similar vibe even if the only similarity is that the FLs. Both are poor, hard working, loyal and considered not feminine. The secondary LMs also have a similar relationship with the FL, in love with someone else but drawn to the essence of the FL while being best mates with the LM.
