It’s fun and mysterious
Like so many BL fans I was waiting on the return of BossNoeul in their own series, something I think took way too long. To fill the time I read MAME’s book once I knew what their next project would be and honestly I could picture them in the roles right away. So far the show just two episodes I has not disappointed. Multiverse is always difficult and having book knowledge I was a little nervous about how this would go and whether fans would be lost. That’s not the case, there are significant changes from the book already that I appreciate and it makes me excited to see where everything is going. My only critique so far is the episodes aren’t long enough, we need at least an hour for such a complicated story and 10 episodes. Boss, Noeul, Forth and Donut are really bringing their characters to life and the friendship groups are so PERFECT. The actors chosen for Tee, Nalin, Achi and Rome and so hilarious and really ground the main character performances. I can’t wait to meet a few other key characters and for the angst to begin. If you have watched yet give it an open minded try!!Esta resenha foi útil para você?
First Impression: The Boy Next World (uncut version)
Overall: having difficulty with one of the child-like main characters, but I'm trusting in their chemistry. 10 episodes about 45 minutes each (episode 1 was 45:51). Airing uncut on iQIYI https://www.iq.com/play/the-boy-next-world-episode-1-1dszq3d8c3o?lang=en_usContent Warnings: blood, violence off screen
What I Liked
- unique premise
- intro got my attention
- great to see Boss & Noeul again
- intimacy and sweet moments
Room For Improvement
- a main character acted like a child (who calls their university friends to complain about not finding their underwear)
- not sold on the world building (why would a character make that jump/assumption with other more scientific possibilities)
- (neutral) there were some comedy sound effects but at least they weren't the entire time
