It gets better so please be patient

This story is told in the past and present. The young cast are awesome and most likely well see more of them in future dramas and lead roles. They’re so good and natural. I’m particularly impressed with Hong Min Ki, (young Seok Ji Won) as he really nailed his role. Wow. The back story is good with a few annoyance's of repeats. Though the flashbacks are good, it continues to be a mystery of what actually happened. As the older and current characters meet again, there’s a lot of angst in the two leads. What exactly happened? That’s what makes the beginning episodes up to six or seven. Yes, there’s annoyances here and there because i feel it’s a little messy in some parts. However, it’s a great anticipation to see what separated these young people, especially since they were so in love. So, be patient as it gets better as the why’s clears up..

Episode seven is where it really picks up. It’s where the heart starts to flutter as the adults begin adulting in their decisions and truths. This is where you can say, okay then let’s get this romance going. Up to episode ten, relationship building intensifies, and their shared cuteness becomes your own smile. It’s like the shortcomings of the beginning is redeemed and insignificant because the present is satisfying. Lots of cute moments, lots of rewatch moments.

I’m greatly enjoying this. Maybe for those in mid ages it comes as refreshing as most rom-com features younger cast in twenties to early thirties. Leads here are in forties and in a way, they portray what dating can look like in that age. Regardless, it’s super cute and just my right cup of tea seeing this couple reignite what was lost many years ago.

Jun Ji Hoon ( Seok Ji Won) is a handsome man, so of course he holds my attention. More than that though, this role in a rom-com is so welcoming. I mean, for people in his age group and beyond, it’s cool to see that love may not be secured in your younger years but can come later when it’s right. I like his characters calmness in all things, even in challenging moments (getting slapped by dad in front of his love). That maturity is every woman’s want and he does it so well, in action and in his voice. Jung Yu Mi (Yun Ji Won) is alright. Though I might have a suggestion for another actress, she wins me over as story progresses. No sense in criticizing because she is the chosen one so the best I can do is root for her. They look good together in their role although, I wish they can be more natural in expressions and action. After all, they are older, in script and in life.

The rest of the cast has its role to push story forward and they all play their parts well. Ji Won’s assistant is super cute with his banters with his boss. Their relationship is adorable. Though I’ve seen it multiple, numerous times as obviously it’s normal there, I still can’t swallow the controlling and manipulation of parents, to the point of physical abuse. Episode 10 ended in such a high sweet note in their relationship I would love it if producers don’t bungle it up with unnecessary complications taking priority for the last two episodes. Sad there’s only two episodes left as it’s been a welcoming treat after weeks busyness.

Tell Me You Love Me, The Trunk, My Sweet Mobster, Love to Hate You, and this one are among my favorites in my own categorized list of sweet ajumma/ajussi series. I’m hoping for a sweet wrap for this and add it to my new list of rewatches. Love love the OST too. So soothing to the heart and ears. So enjoyable, so good. Hope you give it a try, with lots of beginning patience. (May be back for post conclusion after completion but anyways, thanks for reading).

A sweet breeze when you're feeling hot...

I won't be talking about the story... because there's nothing that you wouldn't know :D
It's a typical childhood friends to lovers + breakup for an insignificant reason + meet again after a few years bla bla bla...

1. Even though the story is old, I still found it to be kinda sweet and light hearted!

2. The rich + super jealous + secretly caring ML is always fun to watch.

3. The fact is everything is just silly as much as it can be and yet here i am watching it :P

Chaos - banter and rivalry, although lacking chemistry

This drama, so far, has been chaotic and funny (albeit a bit too childish at times) and has set the stage for an enemies/rivals to lovers story. It has been decently enjoyable, if a bit slow at times, but overall I am interested in seeing what happens next. She seems quite quirky which I like and I look forward to seeing their relationship develop further, although I hope to see more chemistry between the two leads as I feel there's a bit of a lack of it right now. I loved the younger actors who played them in school, but the present day leads aren't as captivating, in my opinion.

This drama may not be everyone's cup of tea, but possibly worth a chance if you like chaotic love stories, banter, school/work rivals and reunions. The worst that can happen is you wasted a bit time on a story that isn't for you, at the end of the day. But in my opinion, you still learn something from the stories you don't like, even if it just helps you narrow down what you like about a story. That said, I do hope to raise my rating as more episodes come out, I've just found it a bit lacking so far.

loving this so far!

This is coming to be one of my favourites of 2024 (excluding Lovely Runner of course)
It’s got all the best tropes: rival families, friends from birth, the share the same first name, constant bickering, secret romance, enemies to lovers (fingers crossed), missed connections, love triangles, romantic bets, etc.
the first episode was a bit confusing with all the family background, but you can understand the core rivalries.
So good! and I love the slow reveal of their past relationship. keep it coming!

My fave so far!

I love this drama-comedy. Good story. Makes me laugh. Hate waiting days between episodes. Ju Ji Hoon is spectacular. I’ve missed seeing him since Blood Free which I hope has a second season. The female lead has some comedic skills but she is not worthy of JJH; I have seen everything he has done. He has great range and I never get tired of him. More please!

Cute, heart-warming RomCom

24 December, 2024
I love the slapstick nature of the Comedy here. Ju Jihoon is best with his exaggerated facial expressions. He made me laugh so hard that my stomach ached. I didn’t like Jung Yumi in the first two episodes but she got better from episode 3, or should I say I understood her portrayal after more background history was given. I absolutely adore Oh Yeju and Hong Minki. I appreciate that they were shown from time to time in almost every episodes. Based on the story, the young actors had a huge responsibility to make the story believable that even after 18 years separation, the leads still had feelings for each other and the young actors nailed their parts. They have great chemistry as enemies to high school sweethearts. I also like how the actors were chosen to play young and older counterparts. They kind of look similar. In some other dramas, the actors look so different that I can't connect the two actors playing the same person.

Enjoyable drama with heart touching moments

Plot - the plot has teenage love, misunderstandings, separation and reunion.

Actors - Both couples (the young and the older ones) have given their best. They have chemistry and the supporting cast has meaty roles. The negative character will make you want to rip your hair out. Basically, all of the actors have done a great job and it is the biggest strength of this drama. The choice of the director for the younger couple is especially worth praising.

This drama is not a thriller so there is obviously some level of guessing that a viewer can do. It still has the ability to surprise you with a new "point of view" of the characters. You get to unravel their emotions and that journey makes the show interesting.

Overall, I found it to be enjoyable and it delivered more than what I expected from it.

If you are looking for a sign to watch it, then this is definitely your sign!

I don't usually write reviews until it's done but seeing it's more than half of the episodes are out then giving review is a must because I felt like everyone should tune in. If you are looking for a good romance comedy with good ost then this is the drama you are looking for. As someone who have been watching a lot of dramas, I must say I easily gets bored but for this drama, no boring scenes and its been planned really well. The younger counterparts are really good that you wish for them to reunite for another drama. The main leads are chefs kiss. I'm glad Ju Ji Hoon took another romcom after so many years. He has that melo eyes which is perfect and blends with Yumi's acting. There are cliche scenes but I love it.They deliver those scenes well and not cringe. Almost all kinds of tropes in a romance drama is here. From Enemies to Lovers, Youth Romance, Cohabitation, Office Romance, Second Chance, Ex Lovers, Family drama, they have it all.

This is such an underrated gem! So everyone should watch out!

There’s still no hope to raise expectations

I really enjoy the tension and bickering in relationships driven by love and hate. It usually adds a fun dynamic, and you find yourself eagerly waiting for that spark to ignite. However, I found the behavior of the two adult characters in this show quite childish. It seems like they haven't moved on from high school. After 18 years, shouldn't they have gained a bit of maturity? I thought that was kind of ridiculous.

I haven't seen enough chemistry between the couple yet; their younger selves were way more exciting to me. It feels a bit early to do a deep dive into the story, but I definitely need more details about their past. Otherwise, it’ll just feel like a high school romance that was never resolved. They may have loved each other a lot, but with all those years gone by, life should have brought them some adulthood. It’s like there was a time skip, and they’re still stuck in the same year. But hey, they're 18 years older now, lol. Like, after they graduated high school, time just stopped, and then 18 years later, they picked up right where they left off. No matter what happens in their relationship, they should be able to handle it more maturely now. One's a teacher and the other's an architect, so it's really not that hard, right? :)))

I found the performances of the male and female leads a bit over-the-top. I hope we get to see more of how their lives went on while they were apart.

I’ll keep watching, but I just hope the story becomes a bit more grounded.

The younger version is better

I was going to wait to binge this one, but boredom got to me and without even noticing I had watched two episodes. I am sensing that I might regret starting before all episodes are out.

I see other reviewers complaining about the adult versions being too childish and although I understand that can be annoying I usually don't mind it as long as it's no too exaggerated.

I do agree that the younger version is much better. Both couples have good chemistry and nice banter but it's funnier and more natural with the teenagers, I kinda wish that the story was set in that time period even though I do enjoy the adults too.

One thing that I don't like and it's quite common in these kdramas is that the the younger actors don't resemble the older actors, it makes the story feel disjointed as If we're watching two different couples instead of the same couple in two different time periods.

An update 5 episodes in, Cha Jihye is the worst 😫 I hate her and they better cut off ties with her by the end of the drama or I'll be livid!! also When if ever writes are going to learn that if the conflict can be resolved by having a simple conversation is not a conflict it's an annoyance!!???!! They had a much better conflict right there, the family feud, that should've been the reason or literally anything else that didn't involve a stupid misunderstanding.

I'm angry but still enjoying, I will continue watching to the end

How much Can You Hate Someone You Loved?

What happens when you meet your ex-boyfriend who is also your family enemy, returns after almost two decades!

Starring Ju Ji Hoon, Jung Yu Mi in leas roles, “Love Your Enemy” is hysteria at it’s best. The main characters portray a “Enemies to Lover’s” dubiously. Seok Ji Won and Yoon Ji Won, who were born on the same day and with the same name and have been enemies for generations, reunite after 18 years. The catch being, everyone firmly believes that they can’t stand each other, even they themselves believe the same. But underneath this publicly established farce, Seok Ji Won and Yoon Ji Won were once a sweet couple; or so, that’s what the first two episodes lead us to believe. There is undeniable tension simmering between them in most scenes and you can’t miss the attraction masked by misplaced antagonism.
