A beautiful love story.
A wonderful, yet tragic storyline. I cried many times during this series. The way it ended was very tasteful and heartbreaking. I was honestly hoping it would have ended with her pregnant. The cast chosen was very well played by everyone. The lead role was very well played, so well I looked up other series he was in. I can't wait to see his future roles. Bravo to all the cast members. I love a good tear jerker here and there. Not all relationships end well, and I love when real life events are put into the factor.Esta resenha foi útil para você?

in the end, mr. plankton did receive unconditional love :')
Overall, this was bittersweet. It has a sad theme yes, and it had its emotional moments for sure but the tone of the show is adventurous and fun. There were high highs and a few lows. I think the biggest strength of this is the acting and chemistry between the actors. From the humorous scenes to the tearjerkers, all three main actors brought their A-game. Our main lead Haejo (or Seunghyuk)... Woo Dohwan successfully made this character so likeable despite his flaws. Lee Yumi, playing Jo Jaemi, your classic kdrama leading lady, the sunshine the baby the baddie. And ofcourse Oh Jungse, we know him, we love him and he will always act ACT. I actually want to highlight how much I love Eo Heung's character arc because I think it's one of my favorite parts. I love that he had a coming-of-age story and the way it was incorporated in the middle of all the storylines without it feeling messy is really good. Plus the fact that he's the oldest one in the group makes it even greater because it shows growth and learning never stops. Now with the romance, as I said, the chemistry between the actors/characters are so great. Haejo and Jaemi are so fun AND funny. They did the bickering and banters so good, I was giggling alright. Personally, I am a sucker for a second chance romance. It's not for everyone but it is for me. I love that yearning and when the characters know each other really well. WITH THAT SAID, I gotta say, Haejo put Jaemi through it oh my goodness. The push and pull? Yes, he's going through something that's really hard but you can't always use that as an excuse especially if he kept repeating it. I just wish they gave Jaemi a big emotional scene calling out Haejo's behavior. I mean I guess they did have multiple "That's not right" "I'm sorry" scenes but man, I wish she made him grovel way more. Again, I love those two but whew, it was a lot.
Also, to highlight Lee El's character Bongsuk. Omg talk about kindness?! That whole storyline is of course the heart of the show. Unconditional love. I was so sad when Haejo said he stopped believing in unconditional love when he had been receiving it from Bongsuk all that time. I mean I really can't blame him for it after what his adoptive parents did to him. I'm just glad to know that in the end, he knew and realized he had people on his side that truly loved him.
Now one thing that did not feel satisying to me was the storyline with his adoptive father. Only because I did not hear that man really apologized for what he did. If anything, it was still Haejo who came to him. That does not feel right. Yes, he kept his pictures and room but I wanted him to do more than that especially after he got his contact number. Not Haejo's baby sister doing the moves instead of the adult. Yeah whatever, I just feel like that could have been fleshed out more. Same goes with Jaemi's biological parents storyline. Still, I did like that this whole thing is Haejo and Jaemi accepting that these issues with people who abandoned them do not matter anymore in the end because they already found their people.
Yeah, I really liked this drama. It made me laugh and it made me cry and give me a little existensial crisis too lol I'm so glad to see Woo Dohwan again and in a lead role like this where he was able to show his range.
Alex Landi being here is so weird btw lmao
PS. So bold of them to use California Dreamin?!

Cliche but good
Sincerely, I started to watch this K-drama because I was bored, thinking it would be another average love story and that I'd ditch it halfway as soon as the "bad boy" wout get his cute girl to fall in love with him. I couldn't have been more wrong, I thought, after laughing for five episodes straight-actually, this is not that bad. Even though it was a totally fictional plot, the connection with the characters amazed me with how real they were. My heart started to feel heavy and squeezed by emotions throughout the whole journey. It was a total rollercoaster of character relationships and emotions-their acts, sometimes selfish, sometimes absurd, sometimes pitiful, made them so human. But everything they did was to seek one thing: love.People are so foolish for searching love where they aren't needed, forgetting to look around and see those who love us no matter what. People who aren't related to us by DNA but who gather with us throughout the journey of life. The main characters did a beautiful job portraying this feeling. Sometimes when I try to explain love to my friends, I imagine this down-to-earth, realistic, but still such a powerful, unimaginable feeling that I cannot explain.
Other than love in its many forms, we felt loss, forgiveness, redemption, letting go, rebirth, and the meaning of self and so much more.
I just want to say thank you and hope others can take a piece of the story with them, just as I did.

Woo Do-Hwan never fails!
Woo Do-Hwan never fails to please! My two top Korean actors right now are Woo Do Hwan and Lee Do-Hyun.
I first saw WDH in Save Me and my favourite ones out of his dramas would have to be:
My Country and Bloodhounds.
With Mr Plankton I really enjoyed it for the first 7 episodes and then I'm not sure where it quite started turning for me, but it did.
I hesitated to watch this drama because I knew the fate of his character and didn't want to go through that all again like with My Country.
With Mr Plankton the ending was sad, but not as devastatingly sad for me like what happened in My Country for some reason.
Have seen others of his dramas in full like: Save Me, Tempted and Mad Dog which I really enjoyed as well.
As for Joseon Attorney (4-6 episodes) and King Eternal Monarch (half) and didn't mind these either except maybe Joseon Attorney would probably be the least liked one out of them all. Not because of him, but rather the story itself.
King Monarch I would probably finish only he isn't the male lead.
In regards to Mr Plankton it is about the main character being diagnosed with a terminal disease (less than 3 months to live) so he goes on this personal journey to find his real father only decides to kidnap his ex girlfriend at the start just as she is about to get married with a gang on his tail out for revenge.
It has a great mix of humour, a solid story line, drama, action, a sad or bittersweet feel, romance and adventure.
The music is so so - nothing really stood out like Stay With Me (Goblin) or Butterflies (Wedding Impossible).
A major dislike for me would be the female in this as she got on my nerves with her crying - it is the worst, also, her hissy fits. I really wish I could have reached through the screen to slap her out of it. Really annoying!!! Far too many scenes for my liking and she grated me the wrong way as she sounded terrible. Couldn't stand it! Her other scenes were mostly fine - just the sobbing and hysterics were irritating. Terrible! She really did come across as being idiotic quite a bit of the time which was unfortunate - I'm not sure what he saw in her. Another minor peeve was the way she ran. Weird!
Wouldn't it be something to have a female that is mature even when annoyed yet sassy, full of spunk, charismatic and adorable even if not dropdead gorgeous. Just not a cry baby, nagger, whiner or screamer.
I need a female actor that can pull it off like WDH, who in my humble opinion, is one the BEST actors in the industry for crying, laughing and emoting expressions and feelings. His crying or sobbing scenes in My Country were believable, but especially that one scene inside the room with that silk item and his name embroidered on it probably due to the significance of what it meant.
Simply the BEST!!!
The gut wrenching moments in this drama definitely have momentum, but not as impactful as two specific scenes in My Country.
What else?
I really enjoyed the bond that was made on the road trip back to Seoul between the Heir and character played by WDH - the bromance was fantastic and seemed better than what was between WDH and the main female lead at times!
WDH has a beautiful laugh, way of chuckling and tantalising manner with particular words or expressions.
Him and only him!
Anyways, Mr Plankton is recommended for those that like a good mix of everything, but after episode 7 it doesn't seem as exciting and seems rushed or done so as not to leave any loose ends. But...done so without depth.
Maybe one loose end actually - I don't remember seeing anything about the test results of the 3rd candidate. ?

Well…Goddamn…
I just finished the show and uhm… yeah … heavy ass K-Drama.In the beginning I was invested, plot and storyline were so good and I was excited to start each new episode. The characters were funny and Woo Dohwan is naturally a very good actor that every character he plays is instantly likeable (despite them being assholes most of the time).
Side characters were good and everyone matched their aesthetic pretty well.
Now for the FL, I don’t really know how to describe it but— the actress just keeps playing the most annoying characters ever. Every damn time I see her in a show, her character is crying, screaming, hitting or having a breakdown. I mean she acts REALLY well. But my god, she was annoying as fuck.
I think I liked her character sometimes but most of the time the choices and actions she made were just so infuriating that I have no idea how Hae-Jo fell in love with her. She was extremely obnoxious although she has her sweet moments.
Towards the ending when things got bittersweet I started liking her a bit more. I guess once she found out Hae-Jo was dying she also became a bit nicer although still stupid and obnoxious but that was the point of her character I guess. Hae-Jo always said ‘what would you do without me when you’re this naive?’ and I guess the episodes truly showed how naive and stupid she is.
But I guess that was also her charm at the same time. She’s a human like everyone else so I guess I can’t hate on her obnoxious nature too much.
Speaking of, I wanted to also mention the side characters. Honestly, I liked all of them. Okay you know what, fuck it, yeah, I liked everyone. Although every character pissed me off atleast once in this show, somehow it made them more human…? I don’t know. I guess K-Dramas usually always show perfect people without flaws (well some shows), atleast they give characters stupid flaws that don’t make them seem annoying so they’re likable. But this K-Drama…phew. Everyone pisses you off lmao, but atleast in the end all of them also show their good sides and it just reminds you they’re just as much of a human like you are and they’re not so bad.
Okay I’m talking too much about the characters but uhm, the story overall. Wow. The abandonment and then finding out the person who abandoned you is truly your father in the first place…wow.
I mean they never revealed who his father is officially but let’s be real, even if Hae-Jo found his biological father, the father he had in the beginning will always be his father.
I’m a little sad that their scene was so short and sudden but I guess that’s the whole point. To show he had no time left, and the little time he had- he wanted to spend with Jaemi.
Throughout the show I couldn’t figure out if I liked their story or not. Jaemi was a bit of an asshole for leaving Heung hanging and then breaking his heart but- you know what they say, ‘the heart wants what it wants’. And I guess I could direct my anger at Heung too for being so stupid and hung up over her. But hey, to quote myself back there, that’s what makes them human so I can’t be entirely mad.
The ending was something I can’t really describe. It’s out in the open that he’s clearly dying and the blackout in the end meant he had passed away. But though the scene was made in a way where you have to make out the ending yourself is what annoyed me a bit but it was poetic and beautiful and once again, I can’t get mad at it.
Hae-Jo’s wish to die somewhere out in the open and not confined in a hospital room was granted and he died in Jaemi’s arms which made him go in peace. Heartbreaking. I hate death tropes and I wasn’t really expecting it to be a death trope because I came to this show because of Woo Dohwan’s sexy edits on tiktok…? But it was worth it. Came for Woo Dohwan, and stayed for a beautiful story. Granted it broke my heart and made me cry, but I loved it.
1 star for rewatch though. Never going through that shit again. Nope.

Ktrauma In This Year...
Ktrauma in this year. However, this kdrama is very good to watch and very enjoyable. The story, comedy, love, sadness, trauma, wounds in this Kdrama are written and shown very well, as well as the acting of Woo Do Hwan and Lee You Mi which is so good, detailed, looks real, and until I feel the emotions and feelings. Woo Do Hwan and Lee You Mi acting is very good and feels very real, the comedy is so fitting and not too cheesy, the presentation is entertaining and fun, and the love story is so sweet and tragic is the attraction of this kdrama. so my rating is 9/10. I think the 9/10 rating that I gave to this kdrama is because this kdrama is very good and worth it to watching!
This Kdrama is recommended for those who want to laugh very hard and then cry very hard. I'm sure, people will continue to discuss this kdrama because of the story and ending that so... curious about the ending? so watch it first and you will know how the ending is! don't worry! this kdrama will have a happy ending. very highly recommended to watch! You have to watch it!

Mr Lovable D*ckhead!
"Planktons are the very bottom of the food chain. The lowliest creatures in all the oceans."This quote will hunt me for a long time!
I don't want to talk about this drama for long, because this isn't just an ordinary show that you can watch, and move on, and I don't see the point to go into details and spoilers.
One thing I will say, these characters, especially the two leads, Hae Jo and Jae Mi are CRAZY, but they're not bad people, not toxic, not red flags, they're just kids hurt by the world, and their own family! They do some weird things, but you just can't blame them, because they don't know better, and all they want is LOVE!
You can only understand this, if you experienced something similar!
Mr. Plankton is not a fairy tale about a Princess and the Prince Charming, this is 100% about real people with a really messy life!
This is a well-written show, with fantastic actors, and a meaningful story! It's not perfect, I honestly think they could've skipped some unnecessary potlines, bot overall, this is an amazing show.
I'm sure, many people think the ending wasn't that good, but if you think about the fact that it was about Hae Jo's point of view, it's understandable why they finished the story the way they did.
It would be nice to see what happened to the others, but he can't see that, and that's why we didn't see it either!
This is a MUST for everyone who loves crazy, but real, and meaningful stories.

Long time no see Netflix
I"I think I haven't watched any Netflix Originals for almost a year because their shows aren't interesting and often contain too much violence. I don't like it. It seems like they believe that if they add a lot of blood and violence, people will watch it. (Did you see the Squid Game Season 2 trailer?)But this drama's story is unique and also somewhat similar. It’s about a man trying to find his father, and because of his fear, he ends up taking the girl who is his ex-girlfriend.
*
*
*
Firstly, at the beginning, I thought their relationship was sweet, but the female lead (FL) has a lot of problems. Yes, they are in love, but this love is very toxic. She is always yelling, like a child. She doesn't think about Eo Heung's emotions; she just wants to find a safe place. She has never grown up. In their relationship, Hae Jo always has to take care of everything.
*
And why does everyone keep punching Hae Jo's head? Dude, he is ill. Why do you keep punching him? Jae Mi and Ju Ri always use violence. Every time I think, 'Okay, now he's dead. Stop punching!!!
*
In the story, my favorite character is Yoo Gi Ho. I thought he would be a very bad character, but no! I'm shocked. Even though he is dying, he tries to save Hae Jo. He also found Hae Jo's sister.
*
Actually, I thought Hae Jo and Heung would be brothers because Heung's father has children and could also have a connection to the clinic. The glass guy is also one of them, I think. They didn’t focus on his story very well.
*
And finally, I want to talk about the ending. I'm not the type of viewer who loves bad endings or 'create-your-own' endings. It should be a happy ending. If it isn't a happy ending, why should I watch dramas? I watch the news or documentaries. Sorry, I know it's real life, but I want to escape real life. We already see enough bad things in the real world. We deserve a happy ending in dramas, at least.
