The life of a narcissist
This show opens off kinda iffy but keeps on getting better. The villian is actually too good. She's playing chess while everyone playing checkers. The family is really playing into their games which finally puts more excitement. It gives a lot of vibes from any cheating kdrama but in the most cruel way possible. I'm Loving This A Lot
You put Kim Hee Sun into a drama and I’m bound to watch it, no matter what!A human black dramedy, MBC’s “Bitter Sweet Hell” is off to a great start. Coupled with a stellar casting, the clever script keeps you guessing, never a dull moment in sight. When I first read the synopsis for this show, I thought that this would be another “Mother-in-law & Daughter-in-law” melodrama. Obviously it is, mother-in-law Hong Sa Gang (Lee Hye Young) isn’t a huge fan of her popular daughter-in-law, No Yeong Won (Kim Hee Sun). Married into a household where her father-in-law dotes on her and her husband obeys her every whim, Yeong Won leads a rather comfortable & cherished life. That is, until her father-in-law dies in a tragic accident and his old belongings open a Pandora box full of doubts and regrets. The storytelling is rather riveting, because every single individual in this show is questionable (except for Yeong Won). It could her mother-in-law who revels in her husband’s sudden death or her husband who could be cheating on her or her young son, Choi Do Hyun (hello Park Jae Chan, from Semantic Error) who has been acting odd after his grandfather’s death. This show is all about finding out who are Yeong Woo’s real allies and who all are plotting behind her back.

Intriguing Start
Wow, the show is off to a strong start. Ep 1 was intriguing and engaging from beginning to end.Each character is captivating, but the mother in law definitely stands out as the most interesting. Actress Lee Hye Young steals the first episode along with Kim Hee Sun. I loved Kim Hee Sun's shocked expression at the end while watching the mother in law's dance.
Lee Sena is another character to watch. Her entry scene reminded me of the first meeting between FL and the mistress in TWOTM at the hospital. The revelation of her affair was shocking.
There were several surprising twists and events that made the episode worth watching. Overall they did an excellent job with the first episode.
Besides the acting, i also loved the execution, cinematography and set design. It was perfect for this kind of mystery thriller.
This was one of MBC's upcoming shows that i was most excited about and the first episode did not disappoint. I look forward to the upcoming episodes.
