So It is finally here ! I am sure every fan of Rurouni Kenshin was dying for this part especially since the previous one ended like that xD I had honestly very high expectations of this movie ! especially the fact that I LOVED parent story &sequel so much ! I did love this one but not as much as the previous ones ehhhmm I mean it is great !! but it feels a little bit rushed maybe ???

HOWEVER *****the sword scenes in this one are the best no doubt ! *****As usual Sato is just amazing his acting is perfect as always same for the other cast I was so happy with all of them ^^
****The music
hehe
NOW ! I had complained so much about the music in the previous part but here I have no complains at all it was so beautiful and exciting it reminded me of an anime called * Hakuiki shinsengumi kitan* really good job done on the music this time!
Well since I watched this with the *crappy* subtitles I am sure I will be re-watching it when the accurate subs are out ... I am sure it will be way more enjoyable and who knows ??? maybe I will like it better then 1 & 2 !! you know how can subs change the entire story !

Overall it is an amazing movie and you must watch it .. well defiantly after you watch the parent story and sequel ^^

Where should I start?! As one big fan of Rurouni Kenshin I was kinda pissed off on the end of Kyoto Inferno because I had to wait for this part.

But it was worth waiting for sure !

I like everything about Rurouni Kenshin stories, especially this part. While watching the movie I was constantly smiling, crying and even jumping around and hitting my dad accidentally, cuz I was so excited.

All casts were highly professional. Sato Takeru showed his great acting skills as always and even succeed to made me cry at once. His moves and actually, fight scenes all in all were so dynamic followed with great music! From the first part I loved Hiten by Naoki Sato because this song is so beautifully embedded into scenes and so do it happened again, embedded sooooo good into scenes making me have chills every time I heard it.

One big surprise for me was Kamiki Ryunosuke as one of Shisio's loyal servant Soujiro Seta. To be honest I wasn't expecting so much of him in this movie, but he totally threw me in sweet torment while watching him as a great slayer. And I have to say that he was so likable to me just from when I first saw him in Kyoto Inferno.
As I said all casts were amazing but these two gave me the most excitement.

Oh yeah I forgot one more - Eguchi Yosuke. Oh Gosh I loveee him. His acting was so fascinating and his acting skills are perfect OMG *Q*

I'm gonna rewatch this movie for sure but it always gives me so many feels so I'm afraid I can't survive rewatching it lol

BUT I STRONGLY RECOMMEND THIS MOVIE (of course before watching this movie,be sure you already watched parent story and sequel)

I've watched the movies but not the anime. So my opinion is just based on watching these movies!

I had really high expectations! The first movie was a masterpiece, the second movie was great and this, this was good compared to the other two movies.
I still rated this movie very high because of their scenery, the way they shot the movies, with nature, sunlight, settings that was just so amazing and detailed. The emotions, screams, tears and despair; I could actually feel them. This movie didn't give me one single dull moment. The fighting scene's were incredible al always, I loved it.
But, the story.. They rushed this i.m.o. so much! I do understand that some parts were important but I felt that we lost some good characters background stories, missed the fighting scenes with other important people and they forgot the pacing in this movie. I also felt that some characters were suddenly weaker than they appeared.
Still I did like this movie, not as much as the first and second.

The legend never ends!!

Kenshin met his master, and I never thought he was still alive. Don't ask me why I killed the man, but well, Kenshin had to learn a new technique to defeat his enemies. However, to do that, he had to confront his own problems, and with the help of his master, he did it.

Kaoru survived, no surprise there. Obviously, the first thing she does after waking from her sleep is follow Himura. As if he doesn't have enough problems, Aoshi is trying to kill him. For what? The title of "the strongest." Kenshin needs to preserve his energy to take down Shishio and his skilled friend, not deal with this. But it seems it had to be done for Aoshi to have a new start.

Sagara Sanosuke was awesome — funny, always helping, and never giving up. And Seta Sojiro, with that damn smile on his face, fighting like it's nothing. No feelings, detached, stubborn; felt like he was a robot. At the end, he shut down when an 'error' occurred.

The final battle between Kenshin and Shishio didn’t feel like a fight, more like a graceful sword dance. It was entertaining seeing more join and gang up on Shishio, but he was still breathing fire. Fujiwara Tatsuya was the best — his acting, the bandages they put on him; he portrayed the most evil character excellently.

Overall, the movie was way better than the first two, very exciting and all. But the female characters felt like they were lacking, missing the feminine touch that should have been brought to the movie. Still, it's my favorite from the Rurouni Kenshin Saga till now. Got 2 more to go, and we'll see!

Visually stunning, jaw-dropping martial arts with compelling characters both good and bad. This movie takes up the story in the middle of the action where the second movie ends so you shouldn't watch this without watching the second movie at least. It shows a little more about how Kenshin came to be the reknowned ex-assassin with the gentle smile who has vowed to never kill again. The finale fight scene was one of the most impressive martial art scenes in any movie I've ever watched.

This is different from the original version in Anime. The way of fighting seem not awesome as in the Anime. However, this is show about the real battle not imagine as Anime. The story seem good to me anyway.

Finish it for the actors, not for the storyline. 10/10, but also 0/10

It feels so weird to rate this movie. On one hand, the actors really carried this movie. Their individual practice really paid off, and I feel no sign of the actors themselves--only the characters they're embodying. On the other, it feels like a letdown for the trilogy itself. Had it been a solo action I think I could rate it a solid 8, but I can't place why--maybe how it feels like a filler episode---I almost want to give it a 0.
Maybe it's because the camera shots seemed a bit less "real" (You can see where swords hit air, but hear a thud). Maybe it's the pacing. There's no real--heartdrop moment. In fact the entire time everyone kept getting up, I actually felt pressured for them to either hurry up and die (like realistically), or just fast forward.
I feel like I am exactly where I left off on the second movie. I'm grateful for such cool choreo scenes, but overall I don't really sense being closer to the characters. Aoshi throws a tantrum, not once but twice to prove a point that he's no longer the same person (maybe I'd like to see his before nature more)...the whole ninja romance is unaddressed....and all that fighting for such a PG(? Shounen?) ending. I don't know man. Maybe it's just the way the story was written, but even the relationship with Kenshin and Kaoru seems so........disappointing. If it weren't for Megumi's tonics, or Kaoru being nervous that Kenshin was mad at her, I would have forgotten this was a romance.
That said, peace is restored.
I know it's fairly faithful to the adaption, but it would have been interesting to see more action scenes with the girls. Or, conflict between the Kenshin and Kaoru.

Ooooh, this one was good. Again, very serious compared to the first movie but also so very intense! And they pretty much turned Kenshin into minced meat, the poor thing!

I think the most intense scene was Kenshin's execution on the beach. It was so well done. The set-up, the close-ups of Kenhshin's face and then the twist at the end!

The most touching moment came at the end, when Kenshin was so very badly hurt and Sanosuke had to drag him off the ship, covering Kenshin's head while everything around them was burning and going off. Sanosuke is so loyal to Kenshin, such a good friend.

And Kenshin's old master! He would sure win the tsundere award of the year. Seijuro would rather bite his tongue off than admit that he loved Kenshin like a son. Idiot, she said fondly.

I believe I loved each movie of this saga equally, although I had some complaints with Kyoto Inferno as I didn't feel like Aoshi's arc should've been added since it felt rushed for me and like it didn't really provide much to the story. However, watching The Legend Ends and how his character was *sort of* needed, I understand the rush in the prequel.

I'm sure the fighting scenes in this one were much better than in the others, the BGM was perfect all through the saga, the cast was *almost* perfect and I have little discomfort with these movies. Nonetheless, I still didn't exactly like Shishio's fight, but it's more of a personal villain-MC preference.

While the setting of Kyoto Inferno was amazing and how Shishio built up fear on Kyoto was terrific, especially the part where Shishio's men enter Kyoto with the drums and big fire and star setting fire everywhere on Kyoto definitely showed the type of fearless villain he was, the fight in The Legend Ends felt like Kenshin had no way to beat him at all. Like I said, it's more of a persona preference, but I like villains who are defying and the absolute strongest, which Shishio was, and in which the MC has no chance against them, BUT eventually the MC finds the strength to fight to protect the people he loves and cares about. Obviously, that was Kenshin's driving force and what led him to fight to kill Shishio, I feel like Kenshin didn't stand a chance against him.

Kenshin was portrayed as the strongest samurai throughout the other 2 movies and even though that was exactly Shishio's whole arc (the only one stronger than Kenshin), they under-powered Kenshin to an unnecessary level, imo. If Shishio's body didn't burn, Kenshin would've been dead.

I generally don't like the whole "let's fight as friends" (like with Sanosuke, Satoshi and Aoshi) since it showed that neither of them stood a chance against Shishio and I get that's the whole point of "friends fighting together", but it just bothers me a little.

I still loved the saga and think it was amazingly done, the cast was all perfect except Sanosuke (I have major complaints about the actor and the whole personality they gave him, but I would rather not get there), the production was very thoughtful and it looked like they wanted to be as loyal to the original story as possible, which I believe they achieved. So I am rather satisfied at these movies, even though I was a fan of Rurouni Kenshin only as a kid.

Big shout out to Sato Takeru for his great performance.

I absolutely loved this movie for many reasons but mostly because it flowed so well.
I haven't watched the anime since it's older and ..idk but I might watch it eventually. There's just so many anime series and movies I have on my list :../
I fell in love with Sato because of this series.  I would say this made him  famous since it was a live action but yeah you should really watch his other movies.
His acting is amazing. His confidence is amazing. I loved Kaoru too, their chemistry was great.
I would watch all three movies again, it was just that good.

Beast Mode

So I think this is officially my favourite of the series. There was some serious badass-ery that kept me pumped the whole movie. Each fight scene was different and I was hyped for the next. Acting, of course, is still on point. Whether it's Sanosuke making you laugh or Sojiro being the bestest(and cutest) villain, you'll find what you're looking for with the actors. I don't think everyone can pull off a theme like this but they do it well. Definitely gives you your fill of villains you love to hate. I'm happy to know there's going to be a continuation even though I'm perfectly satisfied with this ending. There was a smidge of romance(always appreciated), and I hope it continues to flourish cause OMG!

An ending that is far more impactful, and ultimately improves upon its

A reflective first act may prove to be too slow for some viewers, but these moments contain the most imperative lessons for Kenshin in the entire trilogy. This film contains-easily one of the greatest third acts We've ever seen, and any martial arts/action film buff worth their salt needs to see this film. Once again We applaud Satoh Takeru, Tatsuya Fujiwara, Kenji Tanigaki and the rest for the unbelievable devotion to realizing these dynamic characters as authentically as possible. Aside from some character development gripes, the assuredness of direction, cinematography, pacing, acting-chops, choreography and perhaps most importantly, appreciation for the source material, it's lessons and essence, this is easily one of the best, ( if not the best) in contemporary Japanese action cinema. This trilogy was seriously on point. Purists open your eyes: this is what all adaptations should strive to achieve, creating an ending that is far more impactful, and ultimately improves upon its source. unparalleled fight choreography.
