One of the best romance action costume dramas

Drama is a masterpeice and one of those drama you would wanted to watch till end and would not drop on the way. Acting is very good also writer have done his job with script writing as well. Crystal yuan has done very good job while playing the role of God of War.
Story is exciting as much as externel love ten milles of peach... and also Drama is availiable on youtube now with English subtitles.
Story is 10/10
Music ia very good opening song is very good.
Acting is 10/10
There are few scenes you would love to watch again and again.

BEAUTIFULL AND GREAT ROMANCE XIANXIA EVER

its 5 star fo me.. STORYLINE.. THE CHEMISTRY BETWEEN THE MAIN LEAD WAS TOP NOTCH .. WE CAN FEEL ALL THE EMOTION.. and cheng yi was really good expressing his feeling.. he has soulfull eyes.. that you can feel all the emotion just through his powerfull eyes.. and yuan bing yan also get along with him very well.. it can be said that the essence of this whole drama was their BEAUTIFULL AND LOVELY CHEMISTRY along with their GREAT ACTING potraying their character.. in conclusion its BEAUTIFULL, PEFECT AND HEART WRENCHING STORY .. it took me 6 month to move on from this drama and start watching other cdrama.. and also ad a big fan of xianxia drama.. this is A PERFECT AND TOP XIAN XIA DRAMA so far for me.. THE REWATCH VALUE was not full just because this drama so long so its hard to rewatch again.. just will rewatch good scene not whole of them..

Flying under a radar!

I didn't know this will turn out to be something i can't put down and will be glued to it. I was sad that it got over. Initially i was annoyed with FL as she took everything for granted or acted naïve. But later on she gets better slowly. Also our FL i found it plain looking and not so beautiful whichever angle i see it from. This is a slow burn romance, it takes it's time to get there. I thing i remember clearly is chemistry is off the charts for the leads. Story plot is complex and if you don't pay attention you can easily miss it. I don't write long reviews and dissect each part but that is becoz i don't have the skill :)
I only like to write about what struck me the most and stayed with me after watching this few months ago. Definitely go for it if you are like me who enjoys Chinese wuxia dramas.

Do not snack while watching

Sifeng was easily the best character in the show. He was loving, patient, loyal, and had convictions. The writers did a good job developing his relationship with Xuanji. Although, she was frustrating at times due to her cluelessness, it wasn't completely without merit. She was missing her six senses, so it was natural for her to not understand love. But, she understood friendship and bonds that brought people together. And, due to her bond with Sifeng and his help to get her senses back, she gradually fell in love with him.

Normally, a slew of misunderstandings would be frustrating. But, here, they were necessary to show character development and Xuanji's struggle to reunite with Sifeng and to get him to forgive her. I liked that the writers did not just make Sifeng take her back as soon as she showed up. She had to work for it and she never gave up. This showed that her love was as strong as his, which I liked.

Now, the worst part of the show was the constant blood spitting. We really need to go away with that. It's disgusting and completely unnecessary. Characters don't need to spit blood in every fight or with every physical injury. It looks forced and ridiculous. Watching the show completely destroyed my snack time.

I also did not care for most of the secondary characters. Linglong was spoiled and annoying. The sixth brother was boring. Wu Tong falling in love with Linglong was completely nonsensical and poorly written. If the writers went down the redemption route and wrote Wu Tong as less of a psycho, their relationship could've been interesting. None of the sects had any redeeming qualities. They were narrowminded, pompous, and thought very highly of themselves while committing atrocities. The demons were a lot more relatable and sympathetic.

Because I absolutely hated Hao Chen/Bailing for his continuous meddling and self-righteousness, I wanted to see him die a horrible death. But his defeat was rather underwhelming. He just realized that he was wrong and was demoted. I thought it was anticlimactic. I wanted to see him defeated in battle like the villain that he was.

Overall, I could watch this show again because I absolutely loved the love story.

It was a struggle to get all the way through to the end

My man didn't have 10 lives. He gotta go through 90 lives, because he had to have 9 lives for each life.

I tried really hard not to hate the FL the entire time, but it was frustrating af. I kept yelling, "AHHHH! JUST GIVE HIM TO ME THEN FFS!"
Luckily, the ML carried.
Once it finally got going, the chemistry was ? Thankfully.

Also, if I had $1 for every time someone said 'Sifeng' in the show, I'd be a millionaire. I stg, I was hearing 'Sifeng, SIFENG' in my sleep for days while watching this.
My husband even nudged me asking me who this 'Sifeng' was because I said his name in my sleep. Show gonna get me in trouble! LOLOLOL
Was just so repetitive ??

I'd rewatch again, but definitely would skip through 2/3rds of it if I did.

nice drama

This drama started off really nice and got me hooked from the beginning episodes... the middle was okay and the ending part was awesome, the episodes of misunderstandings felt too long and the male lead sacrificing himself every time was somewhat exhausting but i really liked the drama... although i did skip a lot (i always do with very long dramas), i didn't skip as much as i usually do. many of the characters here are likable. female lead is one of the most bearable chinese dramas have given us in a while (she had only a few episodes of stupidity ONLY). Although the villans were annoying, have to admit they were good looking lol..... the ending was satisfying imo everybody got what they deserved.
overall drama quality is up to par with Ten miles of peach blossoms and ashes of love which are my favorites in this genre. the music was lovely as well.

The story is well written. It was will organized and has quality without the drama garbage. There are bits of humor, romance, and tragedy all mixed with cultivation involving the three realms adding some magical/spiritual/divine beasts. I am glad there was some efforts made to create a happy ending and all bits and pieces of the story eventually merged together in a most satisfying ending. The actors did a great job in bring the story to life. The music scores blended well with the story in creating the right emotion and atmosphere without drowning the dialog which I find disappointing in some dramas. I binged through the whole drama but it would be quite awhile before I would watch it again but it was definitely worthy of watching at least once.

Poor character writing.

Starting off a really promising romance, the story gradually got bogged down in misunderstandings and thereby sacrificing the characters in it. The way the characters are written is the worst. Them disregarding the consequences when making decisions despite knowing they could possibly involve or harm other innocent people (FL), them making morally stupid decisions without a blink or repentance (MinYan), them sacrificing themselves despite all the risks and bodily harms inflicted (SiFeng), them imposing what they want on others (stupid dad), ... All of them are pushovers, especially FL when she took an oath to appease her dad (ep41).

My overwhelming feeling while watching is frustration, which outweighs the heart-fluttering, roller-coaster moments i had for the romance.

Why is this series so famous????

I thought I wrote my first review when I was at episode 7 but now when I search I did not post and don't know what happened
So though I was not impressed by it and wanted to give up but I want on watching and now I am at my 28th episode . Did my view changed sorry to say No I still think its not a great series and frankly I am surprised who gave it ten points . Now knowing little bit about chinese fandom I think i know how it got such high ranking
story is nothing new in fact its a mix of all you have seen before girl has no senses, ashes of love, she is in her ;ife where she doesn't remember eternal love, she is God of war and she doesn't remember nything , Gu insect i heard about it in three different series
I m not impress by main male lead so far episode 28 and i dont see ny expression on him but yes female main lead had surprised me she has really done a good job , her acting is fine and she express well no over acting here
most irritating is the girl Linglong her sister
and worst character is of Dijun may be we were spoiled by Dijun from eternal love series this Dijun is selfish, conniving and self centered
There are so many loopholes in story and it stretched a bit in all these episodes from 20-28
Chinese drams need to improve tehir treatment and should do some good serious dramas instead of same repetitive stuff
Throw some love candies so that we can say wow , show some torture to make audience cry , create misunderstanding between the couples
OK I dont know how far I will watch , now I m watching it while cleaning my house Good luck to me

Not as great as I thought

Character Analysis: Crystal Yuan looks great as the cute, innocent Chu Xuanji, but she fails badly as the heartless, badass God of War. Her armor did not make her look great, and looked too big on her. There's nothing great about Cheng yi's role except when he pretended to be the Star of Mosha and became more decisive and focus on his goal. Other than that, his character is too weak for me, even as the Prince of the Heavenly Realm. The sets wasn't as grandeur as TMOP or Love and Destiny, and I'm fine with that, but the main actors did not fit their roles. (Also is it me, or did the camera person take more close-up pictures of Cheng yi's lovely face? LOL.)

Music/Ost: It's ok. Nothing memorable or enchanting.

Plot Analysis: Dijiu Bailin should have been banished from the Heavenly Realm when he created the God of War from Luo Hou Ji Du. You would think this goes against Heaven's rules, but nope, he gets away with it. Why? If you know anything about the Heavenly Realm, Dijiu Bailin would NOT get away with what he did to create the God of War. Second, having such a twisted mind in his hacking of Luo Hou Ji Du, why would Dijiu Bailin help Chu Xuanji in her mortal form? After all, when she finds out the truth, she would revenge herself for the evil deed he did.

Yu Sifeng plays a character that takes all the beating for Chu Xuanji, lifetime after lifetime. I give him credit for loving her all these times, even though there are times when he annoys me for running away from her.

Overall the plot and character actions doesn't make sense to me. The story around Chu Xuanji and Sifeng would have been enough and was already good if they did not include all the crazy, unfitting stuff from the Heavenly Realm/Demon clan. I really wanted to like the drama because the title sounds great. One thing I did like was the last ending family scene and the kissing scene didn't feel awkward.

I watched the first 20 episodes and skipped to the last 15 episodes.
