Both are sports dramas. PRIDE focuses more on the star players, HSL seems to focus on the management of the team.

Both involve a fair bit of play (PRIDE on ice hockey, HSL on baseball) - pretty engaging on both dramas' sides.

In this drama based on basketball (and somewhat on the anime Slam Dunk), a Taiwanese national team basketballer.
Duan Chen Feng, whose world consists of his 2 greatest loves: basketball and his girlfriend, Xiao Xi. They find their perfect world shattered, however, when on the day of his most important match, Duan Chen Feng has an accident on his way to the competition, and paralyses Angel, who just happens to be the sister of Iceman, his biggest opponent since they were young.

To shoulder his responsibilty, Chen Feng leaves school and his basketball so that he can take care of Angel. Xiao Xi, who does not know the reason behind Chen Feng's leaving school and giving up his beloved basketball, is heartbroken and bewildered. At about the same time, Tai Zi, falls in love with Xiao Xi's plucky and determined character.

- MLs are polar opposite, yet both are eccentric.
- They're quite different in genre and plot-wise but both FLs are heads of PR of their company.
- Main couple lead's relationship in HSL is platonic, whereas SS has a romantic connection
with them.

Tsuchiya Tomomitsu is the captain of his high school basketball team. He is also a senior at his school. Even though he is not that good in basketball, he is selected as bench player for the prefecture qualifying round. The underclassmen on his team, who are all better than him, are not happy about his selection.
Tomomitsu then meets Hatori Sae. She is also a senior at the same high school. She keeps watching Tomomitsu shoot three pointers. They become closer and develop a romantic relationship. Suddenly, Sae transfers to another school without saying a word.

The main male leads remind me of each other in the way they hold themselves. Although the main character in the one does have the ability to express feelings. The settings and the plot stay professional throughout. The leads are also very smart and every move in the plot makes sense for each character.

It might seem like a stretch but one of the best things about Hot Stove League is the scripts use of metaphors and symbolism that can be applied to our daily life. Now do bare in mind that Hot Stove League is not a melo-series. But I did see some parallels. Also add to both of these dramas focus on leadership, office politics, corruption, trust, grief and personal responsibilities.

Both dramas are in the sports genre.
Both dramas focus on sports, discovering the confidence in their skills, learning about team play, fighting for their dreams and success.
"|Hot Stove League" also showcases the management of a team and the work that goes on behind the scene, not only in competitions, but both dramas touch on character dynamics and relationships that help the characters grow (lessons).

About the preparation period of a major league baseball team. The drama focuses on a loser team that prepares for an extraordinary season upon the arrival of their new general manager, and each episode will focus on a problem they have as they prepare to become a stronger team.

Se Young is the youngest head of the management team of Dreams, a cellar-dwelling baseball team. She's highly recognized for her perseverance and intense passion for the team. One day, Seung Su is appointed as a general manager. Although he's been working in the sports field, the teams he led to the championship were unpopular, and some of them were even disbanded after winning the league due to the financial difficulties of their parent companies. Would this unlucky new general manager be able to steer Dreams to the championship with passionate Se Young?

Han Jae Hee, an energetic man, who is the grandson of a furniture maker. Kim Young Chae, who is a softball player turned sports announcer. Yoo Min Ho, a pitcher, who is crazy about baseball.

On the verge of insanity is a business drama, which shows office politics as well as other business areas like acquisitions, team projects, closing of business, human resource department etc. as well as technology perfectly. Hot stove league also focuses on business part well with baseball. The characters are very well developed and consistent in both of them and they have very little to no romance. They are well made I love them both.

They both show the internal politics and struggles in a workplace: for Black dog is a school, in Hot Stove league is a baseball team. They both show faults of the systems they sorraund them. Both have no romance, but have a good portion of comedy and sometimes tension.

I am going to go out on a limb here but these dramas both involving sports and are about building teams. They revolve around unfortunate circumstances and how the MLs overcome them with strong FLs.
Although the former is more gaming based the later involves more family, friendship, and work drama along with strong sports lingo in both (obviously specializing in ESports or Baseball)
I would give it a try !

Although it's not a legal drama it shows the same ML in a similar position where he is a maverick and does things on his own terms. Definitely worthy of a watch and he even mentions Hot Stove Love in one of the One Dollar Lawyer episodes with a cute, "I'm surprised there wasn't a second episode" quip

There is something so nostalgic and heartwarming about watching baseball flicks and shows, which is probably why “Stove League” really hits it home. The script also does a great job of drawing viewers in from the first minute of the series – apparently, a script based solely on a manager trying to better his baseball team can be very entertaining! The fact that it won Best Drama at the 2020 Baeksang Arts Awards proves just how much this drama shines
