I thought that the alternate universe was a refreshing spin on the show and the still had references to season 1, which made the show all more enjoyable. I do believe this was the right way to go about season 2 because in season 1 LYZ faking XL's leukaemia was incredibly cruel. This reboot gave a less stalkerish role and he was someone you could root for the whole time. In this season, the way the couple came together was more natural and there were less mind games, which was better for everyone.
The side couples were featured a bit more than last season and their stories were still incredibly cute. Only thing I can say is I prefer Chu Yan and Xiao You/Ruan Meng in season 1. They were still very cute in this season. But i thought they were funnier in season 1, but their romance story is just as powerful.
I think you guys should watch it. I think the story is more approachable and has a sweeter touch to it. This season was funnier too.

Awesome ?
Okay so i bet everyone has noticed in ep1 that this isnt a continuation of S1 HOWEVER,Yes its a different plot for the villains but the main 3 couples (Ling boss, wen li and chuyan) still have the small little details from season 1. Like the drunk driving, contract marriage, pi dan (doggo), the swimming pool thing and all the other small little things.
From this drama, it is super obvious that their chemistry is way better than season 1 and that this season is as funny or even slightly funnier than season 1. the ONLY thing that is lacking is the plot for the bad guys. Jiang jie did almost nothing but childish acts to destroy ling yi zhou via xialin and soon enough shes out of the game. then fu weining... all he does is says that the weather is hot 24/7 and ends up locking them in a cooler warehouse.. and end of story for the bad guys. Unlike season 1 where the little girl and the half brother of ling yi zhou scheming with xialin's new assistant, season 2 is just 2 people tryna destroy them and almost passing the 'bad guy' plot..
Anyways, the theme song is the same. Only 1 or 2 songs are introduced in season 2 and the ending is short but satisfying.
Worth the watch, most likely gonna watch again!

Can’t believe I got sucked back into watching this mess of a show… but here we areLing Yi Zhou is back, and he’s just as extra as last time. Except this time he’s not going to make his crush believe she has a life threatening disease, instead he’ll just take advantage of a scandal :)))
……aaaand be as much of a stalker and walking red flag as last time.
It’s sliiightly better than S1, like an update that fixed all its bugs. But it’s still trash lmao
This includes the obvious PPL. I love that they’ve got so many products, they just totally embraced it
I got a big case of second lead syndrome at the beginning, mainly just because I wanted Xia Lin to get as far away from this dude as humanly possible. My favourite quote (in terms of total irony) was:
Chu Yan: I’ve been quietly watching [Xia Lin], looking out for her all this time
Ling Yi Zhou: She’s not a flower that needs to be sheltered
LOOK WHO’S TALKING
This is the dude who:
- has his assistant keep tabs on her
- stalks her
- doesn’t like her being near any other guy (and watches like a creeper while she’s just doing her job acting)
- shows up out of the blue on random occasions (her work dinner party, the gym, shopping mall)
- moves into her apartment without her permission
- “Today is the 779th day since I met you”
Without going into how disturbing that all is, how does a big time CEO have that much free time on his hands???
And don't even get me started on all the other plot holes (SERIOUS plot holes, as in "wait what? but I thought we established-" or "I thought they didn't know each other? Now they're suddenly best friends?" it's just a state of constant confusion)
I still don’t know why we needed a Season 2 in the first place, when it’s pretty much just the same story but told a little differently. I guess the producers were like “guys, we can still make more money off of this franchise, let’s do a 2nd season” and the team was like:
“great! what’s the plot?”
“let’s see…Season 1 has already used up every possible trope in the book…we can’t just pick up where we left off.”
“then what?”
“hmm……let’s just tell the story AGAIN”
“amazing, you’re promoted”
Luckily, Ling Yi Zhou did improve a bit more towards the end (like Season 1), his character moving more towards normality (thank god)
Even so, this was just as trashy as the first season. It’s a weird vibe because they act like Season 2 is superior and they’ve fixed all the flaws - but there’s endless references to Season 1??
If I had to pick ANY redeeming qualities, at least their son is cute?
So if you're thinking of giving this certified mess™ a try, my recommendation would be to save your time and just skip to the last 10 minutes of the last episode. Watch that, and ONLY that.

Anyone who has watched this 2nd season will probably get this joke, but the first thing I want to write about in regards to this series is the super awful annoying product placement within it. I'm serious when I say it's so frequent you could probably make a drinking game based upon spotting the products they push during every episode; ADOLF, meal replacement drinks, herbal sanitary pads, and the least brought up was the facial cleansing product at the beginning of the series.I couldn't help but get pulled away from what was going on in a scene because there it was... product placement yet again. So, based on episode 15 this relationship has only really occurred for 2 months (iirc the engagement contract was for 1 year and it was revealed there were 10 months left). Besides that being super fast to get married the amount of times someone has bought that ADOLF product one would assume these people were constantly taking multiple showers were day.
Now, with that off my chest...
I much prefer the first season even with all it's cringey story and plot points the overall development of the relationship between the character was overall just done better.
This AU take falls short in development because it literally ignores what is has written. In S1 when Xia Lin doesn't want him to interfere with her job, he does and she gets pissed. She says point blank in this S2 to not do that and he gets another actress fired from a role, but Xia Lin is totally fine even when the crumbs of his actions are so damn obvious.
Then there is the failure at an attempt of the love triangle with Chu Yan, only this time it was completely and utterly hollow. It literally could have been left out with Chu Yan not being even possibly romantically interested in Xia Lin and the rest the whole season would remain unchanged. That is how little impact it has.
The relationship is still as strange as the first season, but they try to make Ling Yi Zhou seem less like a stalker by having them not interact with each other for two years time. That still doesn't make his ulterior motive and actions and taking advantage using an engagement contract to get closer to her.
I will say on a more positive note that I did like the darkness of her manager driven by revenge. They did a decent job at refraining from exposing her too early on. That doesn't mean I was impressed with the cast of the villain roles this time around. The motives are so... lame. I don't know how else to describe them.
All in all, I'm just forcing myself to finish this S2 because I am already close to the end and one episode away, but dear god if I see one more product placement... it had better be to jog Xia Lin from the "I got hit on the head and forgot my husband" trope and get her memories back.
"This meal replacement drink, these herbal sanitary pads, ADOLF products... I REMEMBER!"

Old wine in new bottle
So the writer had 2 different scripts for the same scenario and Netflix decided to experiment with the what ifs?1st season was better, especially the first 8 episodes after that it was a downhill
And the second season is mediocre at best, there's no flow to it.
It's the same story done differently and they still managed to do it shabbily.
The direction is such that they're trying to fix and experiment with whatever they can in the 2nd season, hoping it will go right.
which is so wrong.
They could've done better with this one, especially after the audience's response.
The actors did their best with whatever they could, with plenty of flashy scenes like those imaginative temptation ones, again something which is unique for this one.
You know what, they can reboot it once again and do a better job.
The plot has potential.
As a frequent drama watcher, it stings when I see such good scenarios just wither away with mediocre everything.
The Chinese have so much potential but waste it more often.
Learn from your neighbours, the Koreans.
Anyway.

meh. meh. MEH.
meh.How can it be SO boring compared to S1? Alternate Universe I am all for...but the universe must be at least somewhat as compelling as the previous one.
I don't even care about/plan to watch the last two episodes. Pacing is also weird/clunky. Random "bad guy" plots stuck throughout and it feels like a big ol mess, imho. The "bad guys" are a JOKE in season #2, so the depth of storyline suffers badly as a result. That one dude say "why's it so hot" so many time made me want to throat punch him. >_<
the ONLY episode/scene I really loved and busted out laughing was when they were all hiding from each other in MuMu's apartment. Hilarious. Other than that... the drama was way too boring/repetitive.

I like season 2 much much more than I did s1. Well Intended love one is the reason why I fell in love with Asian dramas in the first place so I won't talk too much crap about it. I had seen the trailer late one night when I was scrolling through Facebook and the rest, as they say, is history. What I hated the most about season 1 was the acting, especially from the FL. It was just so meh and bland and uninteresting but they all stepped up their game in s2. I loved everything about it. How the characters changed but somehow still stayed the same. I especially liked how Wen Li changed. He went from being distant and almost cold to a warm, dorky character, he has the cutest dimples. I also liked how the bromance between Wen Li and his boss was more developed, for lack of better words. They were a lot closer in s2 than s1 and that made me happy. All in all, s2 was a success in my eyes and I def see myself watching it again in the future. One last thing I'd like to mention is the fashion porn. My god whoever was the stylist this time deserved a goddamn raise! I'm a sucker for clothes and shoes and s2 had it in spades. I was lowkey salivating over almost all the outfits Mumu and Jia Fei wore. That stylist knew how to get the job done. Esta resenha foi útil para você?

Before I write this review, I had to go back and reread what I had said about the first season because it is hard to not compare the two. This season takes place in an alternate reality with similar background stories, but in the universe, Xia Lin had gotten her big break the night her and Mr Ling (she kept calling him that so that is what I am going to call him) met for the first time, when she bought his birthday cake on an off year he decided to celebrate his birthday. Two years later, Xia Lin becomes a B list celebrity when she runs into Mr Ling at a networking event, and their story starts there as she agrees to sign an engagement contract that would "save" her reputation after a fake scandal threatened her career. We do we see a lot of similar parallels from season one, but tiny ones. On the top of my head, I remember a scene about her "drowning" in a pool to get his attention and we get Pidan back this season and Mr Ling's "fear" of dogs. Of course we have some of the bigger plot twist and turns from season one, but some of these twists were reversed. The drama by itself - it was extremely funny and I like their relationship in season one, they mains had amazing chemistry. I enjoyed how Mr Ling and Xia Lin's characters also were reversed in a way. I loved seeing Xia Lin as a serious actress who knew what she wanted and stuck to it, while we saw Mr Ling take on more of cute and fun role, but still a badass businessman. This season, I believe, took more of a simple yet cute approach to the dramatic soapy drama in season one. Yes, we still see multiple villains, but the way Mr Ling took care of everything, was with trust and with a goofy smile on his face unlike in season one, where he was super stoic and serious and never really knew what was on his mind except for his love for Xia Lin. Which is probably why I really liked his season. In season one, you did start to learn more about Mr Ling and start to fall in love with this mysterious businessman who was good at what he did and got everything he wanted, but then you find out about how he falsified medical records in order to get Xia Lin to sign an engagement contract and we are expected to forgive him after an episode or two. In this season, though, the only bad thing Mr Ling did was not tell her that he knew he beforehand and took advantage of a situation. It was a relief knowing that Mr Ling was a genuine guy...or more genuine than season one. As for Xia Lin...it was a little more complicated for me. I liked seeing her as a badass actress who always stood up for herself and knew what she wanted, but as I said previously, her and Mr Ling's roles almost switched this season, where we saw a very suborn Xia Lin who only looked at the surface when it came to things, and always went with her first reaction when making a decision. And I am not saying this was a bad thing or it made her a bad person. I just felt that she was very unforgiving or unwilling to try things out because he assumed it was going to be bad or a disaster. It got a little annoying towards the end, but it could have been a lot worse...like Mr Ling in season one.
Speaking of characters, I also really enjoyed how this season addressed one of my biggest concerns - the side characters. In season one, I didn't feel any loyalty to care about any of the sides except for Chu Yan and Fei Fei. A little bit for Wen Li....but no so much. In season two, they made these characters into mains. I was happy that they basically made Fei Fei and Wen Li's romance as important as Mr Ling and Xia Lin's. I also loved the update Wen Li got by actually having a personality in this drama. It was refreshing seeing him take charge and have a personality as I felt like him and Fei Fei were actually compatible from the get go. Fei Fei was more-or-less the same. I also loved the alternate reality Chu Yan who didn't have daddy issues and was very levelheaded and familial as well as compassionate about the work he did. I think the only issue he had was being "too shy" or just not speaking his mind about his feeling for Xia Lin. He had two years to do or say something and she would have 100% dated him. Instead, we get the story of his relationship with Ruan Meng that we all wished wasn't rushed in the last few episodes in season one. But I will say the same thing, I wasn't feeling them too much as I felt that Chu Yan showed any romantic feelings for her. Their story was cute, but I felt that she kept pushing and pushing and basically made me feel like if he rejected her, he would have been branded a terrible human being.
Overall, I felt like this drama was a perfect stress reliever in a crazy time. It took all my concerns from season one, and made the characters more likeable and goofy. It went from a dramatic soapy drama to a very cute and simple drama. The worst thing the villain did in this season was NOTHING compared to season one. I also loved how they kept ripping on one another for being too cheesy this season...even though that is what this season was. If you want to know what this season is about, please look at the photos attached to this drama's page and see their engagement photo shoot. Honestly, if the person I marry doesn't look at me the way Mr Ling looks at Xia Lin in their engagement photoshoot...I'm out. This season felt more like Mr Ling loved Xia Lin for the person she was and his love grew for her the more they were together, whereas in season one, I felt like he was fixated on her and became obsessed, but there was love there and eventually, Mr Ling learned the difference and changed.
Also, a random side note; I really liked how different this drama is from what I usually like which is why I gave it a high score. I liked how I was laughing in every episode and how quick everything was, but a comfortable quickness. I've been getting a little annoyed lately watching dramas where it takes 3-4 eps for something to happen to to be fixed, whereas this one was like...nope...people don't like to wait so we will make the viewer wait a max of a single ep. But it was also a downfall towards the end. I felt like the last episode was both unnecessary, but also wayyyy to rushed, such as the issue was was expressed at the end of ep 14, was quickly solved at the beginning of ep 16, and then we got a bunch of wedding filler and then a time jump with more filler. I felt like they could have come up with a more natural solution throughout the ep and then maybe a cute wedding scene that was literally superrrrrr rushed. Like holy cow their vows. Other than that, I had more questions about the people from season one who never even showed up in season two such as Mr Ling's obsessive friend who literally hypnotized him in season one to fall in love with her or his step brother who kidnapped Xia Lin. Like what happened in this alternate reality where they decided they didn't want to be crazy people and show up? Besides those points...I loved how cute and cooky and this drama was and I still can't get over Mr Ling. Like got to find you a guy like Mr Ling in season two.

Well Intended Love Season 2 is just a repeat of Season 1 but, done with a much better story line for all of the characters. I know that going into this season I was looking forward to a continuation of last season and to see a season filled mostly with fluff and little of anything else, so, at first I was sad to see that Season 2 did not continue the story but rather rewrote Season 1. But, that is not the case anymore. Eventhough I liked Season 1, (or struggled through the show because I liked the actors), I found that Season 2 was a much better show. To tell you the main differences but not give too much away, I will tell you that mainly how the ML tricked the FL into marrying him was changed. (Spoilers for Season 1: The ML tricked the FL into marrying him by pretending she had cancer and he was her only cure.)
But, in Season 2, ML does not trick her into thinking she has cancer, and since he only came up with the solution to the problem that they had and did not create the problem itself, the FL can forgive him more easily than last season and the whole secret does not seem like that big of a deal.
Also, another cute couple to watch in this series is the Second Male Lead and his girl. The Second Male Lead is only in the love triangle for a short time and then he moves on to better things like growing his business. A girl starts to fall for him in the show and decides to blodly move forward to get her man, and in the end she succeeds.
As for the acting in this drama, they were the same great actors they were in first season and their chemistry was off the charts.
As for those who have not watched first season, that is really not important, just know that two times they reference season 1 once in episode 1 and once in the last episode, other than that I think you can get by without ever seeing season 1. In fact, I would recommend for people to watch season 2 instead of 1.

What did not change about this series is that its still the male lead that is in pursuit. Our female lead maintains her resistant roll for many many episodes but it gets better. I honestly like this ending a lot better and I also found this one to have a lot more humor in it than the first one.

Stand alone drama
I preffered season 2 over season 1... Basically it's like an alternate universe with the same cast & same idea of a plot, but executed differently and much better in my opinion. It was cute, lighthearted, funny, and had a good balance of romance and drama. I liked the story of the second lead much more in season 2, along with the way both males pursued their love interest. Second lead was not too distracting either and the relationship of the main leads was much stronger and closer. Very cute story & a fun casual watch.Esta resenha foi útil para você?
