The cast plays a huge part on why this show weights so heavily on my likeness scale. I love how, unlike the way a Korean variety show is run, the cast members relationship with each other and their guests feels more real. I love Korean variety shows but sometimes it can be a bit much with the idols being hyped up on every episode. There is none of the crazy screams or flattery when an idol girl / boy group is cast, only simply, "Oh, it's you. Long time no see! Now let's get ready for dinner!" The atmosphere is fun, warm, inviting, genuine and it feels like a family trip.
Wang Han who is one of the founding main member of the show is like a cool older brother. It feels like he can take care of everything. Oddly, I especially like the words of wisdom he shares to the cast and to the guests when they are in doubt.
Jiang Yan join the show around the 5th episode and have been a vital member ever since. She is great at cooking and seems to know how to cook any dish with just a glance at the ingredient. She's warm, caring, gentle, and got all the treats anyone will want for a mother.
Evan Li has been in the show for 11 episodes and it's easy to see how the show has changed him. He went from being scared and lost over how to setup things in the wild to someone who is willing to take risks and make things work.
There are 2 other regular cast member who are both great but one left the show after 7 episodes (Li Xin) and one join for 7 episodes (Eddy Ou) they both played a part in making the show more fun for the viewers. Witty, and a great deal of joy.
The only thing I didn't like was the blatant product placement but it can be funny seeing it sometimes.
I hope there will be a new season, with the same cast members.
