Both dramas have similar story. In both dramas woman is dying and man wants to spend the rest of the days with her make every day count.
Both story is build because the main character have an illness....Except in Scent of a Woman her cancer was for real...
Both dramas deal with the female lead having to deal with their respective diseases which may or may not result in their death in the end and having to deal with the love that develops during their time of illness at the same time. Also both are tearjerkers and if you easily cry at heart-wrenching scenes in movies, then I would also recommend that you have a Kleenex box hand just in case.

In these two dramas you will find nothing but romance, romance and again romance (those are two of the best K drama couples that I've seen) plus both dramas have a crazy jealous fiancé and a love triangle. The only difference is that in LIP the girl isn't sick.
