I dont know how to rate this drama
I waiting from 2017 when know about this drama, but when i end the "hot blooded youth and very angry for the f*cking ending i search the director and found he direct this drama,i hesitate for the first for watching this drama,and same as i thought, very disappointed drama, he ruins this drama,and also ruins the s1 character story(zilan) too,,all the dramas directed by him that I watched ,all is disappointed "classic mountain " (ridiculous story and ending), "noble aspiration " (hanging up for a long time) ,hot blooded youth (ridiculous ending) ,,beside "ash of love" the only drama i can accept from him

This drama make me so confused,messy timing, drain my brain for arrange the timing ,i like eternal love because the timing is clear and not leave alot of question (almost no),but for this season, i would rather it never release


1. Make me confusing,should i watch it connected with the season 1 or not? It make by same creator right?
If said connected, it not make a sense with alot scene from season 1
(1). Zilan identify, if zilan is the twin brother of yan chi wu, why he can be together with ghost clan yanzhi? He is from the demon clan,whereas fox clan is fine if they want( bai qian and the secong prince of ghost clan)
(2). ‎the scene of donghua and fengjiu in season 1 totally different with the season 2,when fengjiu be a maid for taicheng palace in S1 she helped by cheng yu,but in S2 She helped by si ming,,,,, the mortal realm story different too,,, a li ages, and fengjiu age different too with the S1, in S1 fengjiu being help by Donghua when she 70000 years old, she born the same with ye hua (maybe)( before being moyuan being seal+70000years when baiqian seal it again,so her age 70000)but in S2 she just 30000 and born when demon war

2.So donghua choose god clan because touching by the kindness of god tribe or being invite by godfather?

3. Some acting are too exaggerated and lame

4. ‎i think the director and scripwritter not really understand the relationship between the characters? In season 1 siming and dong hua more closer but in S2 dong hua close with lian song

5. ‎will connect if watch it separately, if watch it separately, the existence of yehua, baiqian, zilan must be present at least once or not present or talk about them at all ,because if they talking about them but not present them, the watcher who not watch S1 dont understand who yehua,baiqian,and zilan

6.And when yan chi wu help ji heng out from the jail he also use magic,and cheng yu help fengjiu healing in the jail nothing happen?isnt they said if immortal use magic in mortal can get backfire

7.timing when ji heng fall to mortal is before donghua reincarnation to mortal realm but why she dont feel weird? Because she dont know she from demon clan, and then she asking for being donghua mortal identity concubine

8.When enemy want to take the lingbi stone, the mechanic sword go out very slow its very funny thats can hurt people

9.Ep 33 when competition for pimpo fruit ,isnt they said that green plum lake is the place that seal the magic,why ji heng can control yan chi wu with her demon lord spell?

10.Isnt they said cant get out from fanyin valley?,why in ep 35 yan chi wu can go back to demon clan?,

11. where the night owl bird clan live? Why they said the first prince of biyi bird go war because night owl clan declare for war because of neighbors fight of both clan? ,when fengjiu and yanchiwu accident fall from fuyu mount they use night owl clan student name, so that mean they not live in the fuyu mount but out of fuyu mount,and fuyu mount only open 60 years once

12. why donghua and su mo ye doesnt find shen ye appearance similar with dijun?,,di jun just change the clan imagine of xize but not change his Appearance ,or they also can say "why xi ze appearance similar with shen ye?"

13.how miao luo soul go inside the alanya dream?
Isnt they said the valley just open 1 time in 60 years? ,and just a high cultivate immortal can go in to the valley, but why miao luo can? And if she is the one of high cultivate immortal, she can go in the valley but not the dream，she is being seal by donghua, and even dong hua, he injured when get in to the dream.

14. how demon clan nie chu yun know about alanya dream? ,even biyi bird clan,clansman they also dont believe about the alanya dream

15. Ep 42 when fengjiu back to her real body, she said"maybe this is my real body?" but when saw dijun she recognized him and know miao luo is the person who fought with dijun when in the fanyin valley HAHAHA! she should no remember it,she still in the alanya dream!
Why the queen very hate alanya ?but why she treat chang di better?

If shen ye is dijun shadow and alanya is fengjiu shadow the timing not match,, dijun shadow born 300 years ago when dijun sleep for 100 years,and when fengjiu and netherworld lord meet, it been 100 years laters,it mean fengjiu shadow age is 200 years old and when su mo ye bring alanya as his student when she 25years old, and her shape already adult shape ,same immortal but a-li already 300years but still a child shape

17.If see from ep50 dialog between netherworld lord and fengjiu ,they came back from mortal realm already 200years and its match with ji heng already 200years in fanyin valley,,if like that, it mean bai qian married 200year after fengjiu back from mortal realm

18.at the last when they want to trap miao luo at fanyin valley,why miaoluo didnt know how to enter the valley? Isnt she cant easily go inside when alanya dream?
And fanying valley only open 60years once, and they said its to late if fanyin valley open and the dark energy exit,it mean its been pass 60years? And fengjiu and his son already in mortal realm for 600+years?

21. Some character have a weird characteristic changing at the last, not match

22. Dong hua and fengjiu character is famous because of they sad relationship in s1, IN MY OPINION it would be better if the story isn't changed far from season 1, because that's what the audience likes

23. They should not tell about fengjiu and donghua son at first, it reduce the excited

I'm happy that the Writers and Directors created this sequel from the Eternal Love Chinese Drama. I wished they would've started from the last performance of this couple, Bai Feng Jiu and Dong Hua Di Jun from the first Season of Eternal Love. Oh well, talk about performance... The best performance is from Zhang Ming Can who is playing the character of Bai Qian and Ye Hua's son. It amazes me that these young actors are really good. She did a beautiful job playing a male part. I love her finésse and personality! To remember the words she had to read and memorize for this character at her young age of 7 is beyond amazing. I miss the first actor, Hummer Zhang, who played Ah-Li he was a bright child as well, wondering why the producer didn't recast him in this part? I noticed a few actors from the disciples were back but playing different parts. I loved seeing the brothers of Bai Qian that were not in Eternal Love.

I probably will have to rewatch because the story was boring for me in the first few episodes but it picked up when Dong Hua went to the mortal world which makes up for the first few episodes. The visual fantasy was amazing. It seemed real to me. More action in this one than the first season. The ending was terrific! I could write more about this but I won't. This is a great watch.

Good, but incredibly slow.

It's been like three years since I've watched Eternal Love 1. It was my first, or second cdrama too. Having seen Dream now I'm thinking that perhaps I've been looking at the original drama with rose tinted glasses. The reason being that Dream is incredibly SLOW and thinking back perhaps EL1 is just as bad in this regard.
The original novel is titled "Three Lives Three Worlds, The Pillow Book". I have not read it, but I'm guessing that all the reincarnated, or semi reincarnated lives witnessed in this drama originate from the novel and oh boy the author did not fail to exhaust this plot device. This is the single worst thing about the drama. Spending 10 episodes in the mortal realm & 10 in another realm living different, or semi different lives is not my definition of a fun story. Had this been a normal 24 episode drama I would have been okay with that, but it's 56 episodes. That's not even all, the show has many makjang-ish moments, it's way beyond what I would consider a frustration free viewing experience.


On a more positive note, there are a lot of amazing things in this drama as well.
In my opinion this is how a cultivation novel should be brought to screen. Sure the CG is pretty low fidelity, however all the daoist powers, formations, creatures and realms were portrayed pretty closely to how I imagined they would be after reading about them for many years. Even an ascension pool is featured!

Of course ultimately this is a romance drama & the OTP had great chemistry and - whenever the characters were aware of each other's identities- their romance was really entertaining to watch, with lots of comedy included.

The supporting cast is absolutely amazing.

The love triangles may be weak, but the secondary love interests caused a decent amount of angst and many misunderstandings. So the overall score is not that great, triangle-wise.

The audiovisuals were excellent, bad CG notwithstanding.

Overall I would say that I greatly enjoyed about half the drama, most of the other half was on the boring side of frustrating, however considering how memorable this drama is for me I think rating it at 8/10 is more than fair.

This drama is fairly truthful to the novel. But I like how they started with the Mortal arc first to give viewers a bit more context. It was a bit slow at the start but it becomes really great once the leads start to interact. I particularly loved the Heaven arc, as there are so many Hilarious scenes. Vengo is absolutely perfect for Dijun - so majestic and graceful, no wonder all the other fairies hit on him. Bai Feng Jiu really develops into a mature Goddess after coming back from the Mortal realm which actually attracts the attention of Dijun. She tries so hard to avoid him, but fate has brought them together. This story has so many ups and downs, will bound to get you hooked.

Maybe if I read the book or watch the Eternal Love series first everything will be different. This series was recommended by my friend. She really love the novel and non-stop talking about Dong Hua and Feng Jiu as her best OTP ever. At first, I thought that... ah, I'm going to read the book first before sesrching for it's adaptation series. But then, I found this when I was searching for Historical Drama with happy ending.

I've watched this series until the end, actually ㅡforce myself to watch this series until the end.

Good job for Feng Jiu for not giving up even though Dong Hua seems like he doesn't really give a fuck about you. You're the definition of loyalty and I'm so proud of you. I like a cold male lead that only warm to his love interest, but this Dong Hua... idk I just dislike his attitude so much to the point that I want to smack his face.

Cheng Yu, I feel you and you're right, at least for me. Let's smack his face a couple of times, idk I just want revenge I think.

I like the visual of it, it is a good drama but I'm the picky one here. I hope I didn't offend anyone.

The song is really good too, I actually adored the CGI and the magical effects ♡♡

Beautiful actors and amazing story.

This drama is so beautiful and but actors is so beautiful, this is the second story. The first one was as beautiful and heart wreaking but don’t worry both have happy ending.
I love both actors, the scene is beautiful and sweet and best action and best fantasy and best hardcore scene and best love story and best. Because it’s just too beautiful to not said it beautiful.

I’m looking forward to more drama from both of them and I’m currently watching miss S and I’m obsessed watching it! Waiting for it to update everyday.
I wish the male lead have many more drama. It’s so rare to see mix asian being the main actors but I think the girl is became popular in China now. Can’t wait for more!

I Can't Move On!

Never have I been so obsessed with a drama couple that brought me to a point of searching and looking for video clips about them. Story wise, this drama's plot is okay for me. If it had different actors and actress to portray the characters of this drama, I don't think it would have been as fascinating. They did a good job in choosing the artists, specially the leads. The ML and FL gave justice to the characters they portrayed. I tried watching TMOPB before but dropped it early because it never really aroused my interest, this one even took me too long to watch given the fact that it is a historical fantasy, and these genres are not my cup of tea. But watching their clips on my facebook video feed caught my attention. As I was finishing the whole series, it broke my heart that its about to end. The couple got me so obsessed I pray they will be together for real. I don't intend to spoil, but I really acknowledge the fact that they made me feel the emotions this drama would like to invoke from the viewers, the heartaches of one sided love, being loved and the sacrifices you have to endure for that someone you love. That it did not matter whichever time or world they are in, their love will be eternal.

Better Dong Hua

This drama is very faithful to the Pillow Book, from the characters and the story. Dont refer to TMOPB because they didn't have the pillow book copyright so they had to alter Dong Hua & Feng Jiu love story but they end up ruining it. Vengo Gao's acting as Dong Hua in TMOPB was a little bit over the top because he frowned a lot like he easily get annoyed by every little things and I think Dong Hua was supposed to be an ice face & bored because he had everything figured out. Even so, I still like DH&FJ couple a lot more than than the main couple in TMOPB.

In ELOD, his acting is on point. You really need to pay attention to some of his scenes to notice his subtle change of expressions. So rewatching it is very recommended.

Storywise, ELOD is a bittersweet love story. Bitter at the start, sweet at the end. No plot twist but there are a lot of sweet & funny moments between the couple. It will cure your broken heart caused by TMOPB.

Long awaited Dong Hua and Feng Jiu's love story

Just finish this drama and I am a bit disappointed with the last 10 ep, especially the ending. Maybe they don't have to make such a complicated plot such as Demon Elder's freedom will bring chaos to the world. From my observation, I don't think Miao Luo is a bad person because she never really wanted to fight Dong Hua, I can see it from the way she talk to him and she always says 'do you really want to fight me Dong Hua?' and one moment when the Bi Yi Bird Tribe try to use magical tool to reseal her, she said 'you really give me no choice'. And the last battle inside the Sanskrit Valley, she said 'don't forget who made me into a demon'. I can't help but to always remember Love and Redemption, and The Legend case (LOL).

Actually, I can't stand the first part of the drama especially the mortal arc and the romance blooms a bit late because of the draggy plot. Even after the romance already there, there are still tons of misunderstanding ahead of them. I really loathe the misunderstanding on the last 5 ep. They should've just proceed with the wedding and make the final battle happen after the wedding, not before, let alone on the day of the wedding.

The thing that I like the most about this drama is the feeling this drama gave me, the familiarity. There are some character that is not the same with the Eternal Love cast. At first, I can't accept it but after a while, naturally I get used to them. Another thing that I love is the chemistry and the love story between Dong Hua and Feng Jiu and the way they portrait the characters, I never see them as Dilraba Dilmurat and Vengo Gao but they are indeed Dong Hua and Feng Jiu (if you know what I mean).

I won't be mad if the writer decided to make 56 episode only about the love story of Dong Hua and Feng Jiu. Just throw some conflict and I'll be happy just fine. Actually, because there are tons of xianxia drama that focus on Heavenly Realm and Demon Tribe (and the conflict about Demon King being the downfall of all living beings). it would've been better if the focus in Eternal Love of Dream is more on their love story. In other words, They should've only show us Dong Hua and Feng Jiu story from how they met, fell in love, build a family, and the ordinary conflict in a relationship (without cliché conflict such as doomsday for the living beings).

I'm a bit confused because in Eternal Love, Ye Hua and Mo Yuan seems to be on par with Dong Hua, but here in Eternal Love of Dream, it seems Ye Hua and Mo Yuan is useless. They never there on a big battle or problems. Seems like the only reliable person in Heavenly Realm is only Dong Hua. He never received help from other immortal, except Feng Jiu.

Anyway, what I don't like about this drama is the Mortal Arc and the Aranya's Dream Arc because the story of them two was too draggy, but I can stand Aranya's Dream Arc better than the Mortal Arc because of the happy moment and lovey dovey part of Dong Hua and Feng Jiu as Dijun and Imperial Princess of Qing Qiu not as a mortal who will not remember a thing after their trial on the Mortal Realm. Also, I don't like the unnecessary story of Ji heng, especially on the last ep when her part is really not necessary. Rather than giving us the closure of how Dong Hua and Feng Jiu were saved, the longer moment of Dong Hua and Gun Gun, and their happy family together, the writer waste almost 10 minutes on Ji Heng and Xiao Yan and only gave us the last 5 minutes to give an explanation about the continuation of Dong Hua family with Feng Jiu and Gun Gun. I really hate that. They should've made it into another episode of Dong Hua reunited with his family, give him his well deserved happiness, show us more of his happiness. The ending seems a bit rushed because of it. Such a shame..

I love this series. The acting was excellent. The only this i didnt like about Bai Feng Jiu was that she lets misunderstandings get to her very easily. I get that she was very young and all that but she could just ask fir clarity instead of believing whatver seemed convenient to her. And i loved Dong Hua's expressions. I normally skip a lot of episodes when it comes to series this long but I couldn't bear to miss any episodes. It kept me at the edge of my seat. The only reservations i had was during the Dream of Aranya. The timing didnt make much sense for me.

My most loved series!

The first time I completed this series, I completely fell in love with the story, the actors / actresses, the songs etc. The story line is wonderful, a few minor changes from the book but not that obvious. But this did not stop me from watching this series a few more times! <3 I especially love Dilraba´s acting. She is so lively and cheeky in this series. She is definitely having loads of chemistry with Vengo Gao, making them an incredible pair for this series. Kudos to them! The music in this series is absolutely stunning - both vocal and instrumental. The right music at the right spots make the series even more amazing!

I knew I was going to love this drama because after TMOPB, I literally binged watched all of Dilireba's costume dramas! So I was immediately excited when they announced they were doing a sequel with our favorite leads. Just to preface, I have never read the novels for this story. But overall, I enjoyed this drama. I enjoyed the song that Dilireba sang too!

There are three arcs for our leads. BFJ as a fox lingering in Early Dawn palace following around DH. BFJ and DH goes to the mortal realm (I thought that part was SOOO long), and lastly BFJ and DH end up in a A'lanrou's dream. Each one tests their relationships and you watch as their relationship blossoms. In TMOPB you only see parts of the first two arcs, but this one dives more into details and shows more (of course). I did think that the last two episodes were VERY rushed, as it was their wedding date and of course DH had to go save the world. FJ misunderstands and leaves and goes lives in the mortal realm with their kid for three years. She comes back to Nine Heavens because Ye Qingti is about to be revived and magically they make up. Although, I was feeling MEH ending, I did love the acting and chemistry between Dilireba and Vengo. I'm sure because they were part of Jaywalk studios they have acted with each other before, their chemistry was sizzling. I was so excited with DJ finally falls for FJ, and he just loves on her. Apparently, there's rumors that they're even dating.

A lot of people have mentioned that Angel Liu (Ji Heng) bought the rights to this drama, and wanted to be FJ but faced backlash so they kind of re-wrote the drama for her as Ji Heng and gave her more screen time (we didn't ask for that). Her character was annoying, but she wasn't the psycho lover like Su Jin. It seemed like they wanted to make her villainous, but kind of watered it down or got bored w/ it. This drama actually lacks a Su Jin if it makes you feel better. No one really plotted heavily against our FJ, or took her eyes.

They did mix up our cast a little. We got one Yang Mi cameo (it was meh!). Zhe Yan and our 4th Uncle have transformed into beautiful young male leads - although it was different, I liked it! I liked that they brought back some of the original characters such as 3rd Prince Song Lian, Si Ming and the Bai Family. I wish they showed more of the other realms, as in TMOBP they showed other realms like the Eastern Sea family and more gods and goddesses. Another thing was was funny was Wayne Liu's character, as he did have a role in TMOPB. He was re-casted as a demon lord, Yan Chiwu. Yan Chiwu was probably one of my favorite side characters, and makes references to his "twin" brother who was Mo Yuan's 16th disciple. It would have been funny if he bumped into his twin XD --- But did anyone remember that in TMOPB the demon princess's name was also YAN Zhi, so they share the same surname. Anyways.....

Overall, this drama was good. It wasn't as good in terms of drama and seeing the love build up as TMOPB. The trials that DJ and FJ went through didn't really hit me as hard as TMOPB. I just thought that BQ and YH went through way more compared to DJ and FJ. And maybe it falls on FJ's personality, she was always naive and kiddy-like. I felt even when she had her kid, she didn't truly mature. And maybe if they didn't white-wash the roles, it would have been more "drama." I mean, they could have done more with Zhi He's character (did they forget she was evil b*tch in Ashes of Love)? But, I understand they did re-write this script to give more screen time to Angel Liu. Maybe there's an original script out there, that could have done 100% better and give us angsty/heartbreak drama that we all wanted.
