Dez Anos Mais Tarde (2019)

Honestly was anticipating this drama, but after watching it , it has let me down. Typical FL and ML were bf /gf during college, but was separated due to reason. They eventually meet up because of their jobs. In between the ML tries to chase her back , but she is hesitant because of the hurt. In addition to the main FL/ML , there are the 2nd and 3rd ML/FL. All of the male leads are friends from school. This drama focus on tourism/travel as the story of their jobs. It also talked about the 2nd and 3rd ML/FL love story. I felt that the storyline did not flow. They placed an evil character right near the end which didn't make any sense.

Nice watch but no masterpiece

This type of Chinese drama – set in modern time, that has some sort of business as part of plot (here tourism), featuring several couples and good cast – is actually one of my favorite genres.

10 years late is nothing outstanding in terms of plot or characters. It is frankly quite typical. The first 10-15 episodes especially. The ML is trying to win back the FL after they separated 5 years ago by fixing her problems and pursuing her everywhere. And of course there is a love triangle that blessedly resolves quickly.

However I still enjoyed the drama. As it is mostly quite relaxing and easy watch and the main cast did a good job. Especially Jeremy Xu was a fun to watch. Plus beautiful cinematography, music, styling is also very pleasing.

What I liked the most was the relationship between the 6 friends. I think their mutual scenes felt very natural and watching them spend time together was quite entertaining. The romance of two of the three couples was cute too. Especially Ting Ang and Xin Yi. They were absolutely great together up until the very end and then. Well, their end was too cruel.

The main couple however is mainly a letdown for me. First of all the FL, Yuan Lai, is written as very mistrusting of the ML, Jin Ran. She constantly doubts him and finds fault with his every move. How can that be love, I do not get it. Moreover Gulnezer Bextiyar portrayal is always so cold and indifferent, borderline condescending even. While Shawn Dou tried to make something of their romantic scenes she was generally very stiff around him. She looked more comfortable with the scheming older CEO, Mr. Ji and much warmer towards him. I was not totally invested in the main couple for the most part of the series. By the final episodes they did get better but it was too late.

The tourism part was sadly rather uninspired; every single plot was boring and ridiculous. All crises were caused by childish scheming of the leads’ coworkers combined with the hyper capricious clients. It felt very unrealistic.

In the last 10 episodes an exceptionally toxic character was introduced. I hated her wholeheartedly and not sure if it was really necessary to bring her so far into the drama. But she was really good in terms of being a believable villain.

I wish I could get back my 18-20 hours..yes with fastforwards…
All the characters are so fing frustrating. Mainly the ML…
Characters;
ML; he is just a no no no…claiming to love love love but always making the girl insecure….every one in her shoes would feel the same.she wanted him be to truthful with issues concerning both of them, but he always hides everything. He just tries to convince her just saying sweet words.god he is just the worst ML I’ve ever came across. And never a fing apology I’ve here’d from his mouth. Overconfident that she will always get back with him at the end, which the foolish girl does. I think he deserves all the pain the world. So arrogant and manipulative..the drama projecting him so smart and independent but why must he depend on the boys mom in Japan. Why did he leave to Japan in the 1st place without letting her know…why no contact for 5 years?just come back after all the time and claiming her back will be the solution? Want to write soo much more but it’s a waste..
FL; she is not perfect, but I understand where she use coming from, with the trust issues. If someone faces such ML I’m sure they would behave the same. So much I’ve hoped she would reject him and say ‘Enough’.
Sml and sfl; they are cute, didn’t like both of them but at least hey don’t have manipulations going on between them. Jeremy is eye candy of course! Both are so irritating in the beginning but they eventually came around and became the saving factor for this stupid drama…wish their story arc was utilized in a drama with better main story…
But have to admit though the friendship is very good…but can’t overlook the stupid things because of it!!!
Don’t don’t waste ur time…please desperately trust me….

6loyal friends, 3couples’ luv stories n their work lives... luv the visuals&the friendship...

What I like:
- The friendship... From the start it’s about 5 friends from college that got separated for a few years then reunited, n that’s how this story started.. some misunderstandings at first, but it wasn’t dragged n cleared early... n I like how they mainly focus on the 3 pairs from them (including 1 new friend), instead of having a complicated romance between them... n this friendship stays solid n strong till the end...
- The mainleads, their visuals n their chems... I like Shawn Dou, he looks good n manly, plus he always delivers in every character he plays, including in this one... Guli Nazha is ok for me n she is just so pretty... I know her outfit sometimes is a bit too much as an office worker, but she looks good in them, so who cares... Visually they both look good together in this drama...
- The other 2 pairs r also good... 1couple is kinda childish but funny, n the other is more mature but also cute... the actors play the their roles good... n all 6 of them has good chems as friends, so believable as good longterm friends...
- The cinematography, the wardrobes, the overall visuals looks r good n done properly...
- The business background story, which is a travel company for this drama where the mainleads work, is mostly interesting... some probs with the jealous colleagues which involves sabotage n tricks... plus some probs with their outside partners that create probs to be solved... this part I really like coz we get to see the leads working side by side facing the work related probs...

What I don’t like:
- That Gusa plot is just a bit too much sometimes... basically she became the investor of the company to mess up everything so ML could lose everything n has to go back to Japan with her? It’s maybe believable if ML is weak, poor n depends a lot on her, but he is an independent successful smart guy who has achieved a lot in the business world... plus, the reason why he came back is to get back with FL... I guess all drama needs that delusional villain kind that’s a troublemaker...
- Why Ding An must die? He is such a good character...
- Yuan Lai’s character annoys me sometimes... she is just so judgy, everytime there’s a problem, she just assumes the worst, esp towards JinRan... even the work related one can make her breakup with JinRan, n this happens repeatedly... JinRan on the other hand is a perfect guy type who succeeds in lots n this somehow makes him a magnet for crazy chicks! But the annoying part of him is that he can’t really be that bad guy who cuts all ties with them (1 is his Japan friend/investor, n 1 is his childhood friend)... n these 2gals r the roots of almost all of the probs...

Overall I really enjoy this drama n actually I’ve rewatched it, not the whole drama, just some cute fun parts... I just think compared to some of the modern office dramas lately, IMO this is much much better... I know its’not perfect plotwise or characterwise, but I still think it’s worth to watch if u like office drama with some good friendship & luv stories...

Finished watching this drama a few days ago and This was an amazing drama! so moved by the story and the
actors/characters. I definitely recommend this drama to watch! It's a drama that i can definitely think of watching a 2nd time and maybe multiple! The story is so cute and funny, it made my heart melt. The chemistry between the characters were really good but i do wish the story ended more happy than it did but Overall it's an amazing romance drama and i totally recommend it! Although i loved the drama it made me feel a bit confused by how the relationships worked in the show but it was very cute and interesting.

Awesome story

Hi this is good story. Every cast starring is also awesome, But story ending is sad. Because in our lives we don't know how to end at least in this story ended by happy because this is written by us, our lives written by god. While i am seeing the all episodes i can't control my sobbing its really touched. Three couples lives they faced no of circumstance after facing these their lives end by happy but one of the couple missed happy ending they lead sad end. Ultimately what i am telling is Who was in love please if you have any misunderstands pls sit and negotiated all problems will solve. Is there problem is there solution.so live happy.

Another draggy beat around the bush

I’ve been dropping quite a few dramas lately. This one seemed ok at the start. I particularly like the visuals of the two main leads Shawn Dou and Glunezer. However, the storyline started to drag and go around in circles, with no real character or relationship development (well not one that I liked).

Yuan Lai is the most childish, most insecure and stupid woman in the whole world. Whenever there is a misunderstanding between her and the man she loves, she just runs away without asking or communicating. Then she becomes angry and resentful towards him and pushes him away. Woman, all your problems can be solved if only you communicated better. He gave up so much for you, and yet you’re still pushing him away. Annoying character. You don’t deserve Jin Ran.

It isn’t clear why Jin Ran left for Japan 5 years ago without saying a word, apparently to study? Why couldn’t he inform Yuan Lai, why couldn’t they keep in touch? Why only 5 years later he decided to come back for Yuan Lai? So dubious.

And as for Chengzhi, the woman you like already rejected you, a few times, and yet you want to continue pursuing her? Have some self respect please. His pursuer Shen Shuang Shuang is no better, making a fool of herself to chase him. Not my cup of tea.

Shawn Dou was just great, I hope to see him in better roles. His latest one Tears in Heaven- I read it’s a similar draggy, beat around the bush kinda story. Sigh... how sad.

I stuck with this Drama for 10 episodes because of a promising secondary (or tertiary) couple, but the unusually consistent tone of the comments warned me that it did not get better. In the 10 episodes I endured, the male lead was nothing but a bullying brutish stalker who grabbed the FL by the wrist whenever he felt like dragging her somewhere. That sort of behaviour is not 10 years late, more like 10 centuries. It was simply "I want you, therefore you will be mine, your opinion is irrelevant, and I will phgysically manipulate you, bully lie and maneuver to make sure I get what I want" UGH!

The kicker was learning of the reason why the Drama has a "tragedy" tag. I'm SO glad I read that spoiler, because rather than spoiling the Drama, it confirmed it's a merde mountain and saved me bothering with the last 29 episodes. Do yourself a favour, and skip this one.

Can't stand the FL

Please save the FL. Was trying to bear it but up to ep 12, I just can't stand the FL's character. How to believe that she used to love ML as the most important person in her life back then. The way she treated him was so mean. Had she understood him well, she should be able to see through his sincerity. Although I get it that she got hurt in the past but once she discovered that was all because of her misunderstanding, shouldn't she felt the need to make up for the loss time if she truly loved him? When they finally got back together after 5 years, the love & affection from ML was quite visible, but not even the slightest trace of love or care from FL & it's so annoying. She's so cold & self-centred. Giving credits to ML (he's so attractive) & the story line is actually quite interesting, including the love story of the supporting casts. So persevering until 17 ep & I just gave up. Can't stand how stupid & unlovable they make the FL to be. Even when they finally kissed (after 5 years) she's still playing the victim "I can trust you, right?"
