I haven't been this fascinated by a movie in a long time. Sure, excited and caught by movies but not fascinated.
Story - the story is awesome. The ending did not really go for my taste but I liked it better than expected, let's say - it fits the movie well. While in the beginning you start thinking "Will this movie really be interesting?" the characters suck you into their life and feelings and you cannot stop watching until you know what's gonna happen. I liked how the story went along and like I said the ending fits quite well.
Acting/Cast - First off, I'm amazingly happy that the actor for Jaeha (I just forgot his name right now), a really known and popular actor, is in this movie and it's not just made by newbies or so. This gives this kind of mature movie a more serious and experienced feeling. As for the acting - it was awesome. I loved it. Nothing more to say.
Music - You don't really notice but then you do. It fits really really well.
Rewatch - Probably. Pretty sure.
Overall - Overall, Method is a piece of art where everything was put together neatly. It's definitely interesting, although not to everyone's taste I presume, and I think all the parts fit so well together which makes it enjoyable to watch even if it is quite dark. I recommend it, definitely!

Story : 9.0 - like i said it was a bit rushed, many people said that it was a bad ending, but in all honesty it made sense to me, the romance was exciting and I longed for more romance scenes, and that's what I got, If you're into LGBTQ movies this is definately the movie for you.
Acting/cast 9.5 - what can I say the cast was spectacular, the romance they portrayed was beautiful, no doubt! Also the support characters did a wonderful job.
Music 10 - Oh Wow! The music was beautiful I always love violin in movies and this is perfect for the atmosphere, truly no fault in any of the pieces of music.
Rewatch Value - It's a quick movie to watch again, so I'm definately going to be watching this again in my spare time.

Brilliant
For Jae Ha.. he was frustrated professional actor who didn't like someone who's slacking off. He needed and wanted to get Young Wo into his role. But, during the process he fell for him. With his little glances and body language it was obvious he was driven to Young Wo. Even his gf realized there was something going on. It's true, that she got mad because he was living as his character "again", meaning this wasn't the first time. But, after rejecting her in bed, I think she realized this wasn't just method acting.
They both played themselves. They both played their own little games..but falling in love in between.
Their age gap was shown during the conference. YW, the youth and JH, the realist, the one who couldn't accept his own feelings, not even YW. He made himself believe it was just acting.
For the ending...Jae Ha decided to neglect his true self and feelings, going back to his life.
Young Wo, tho happy with himself, he realizes that he will never get his desired life. He won't be with a person he loves.
So even though their play was called 'Unchain'...their feelings were chained. Because that's the reality. Same sex relantioships are still not accepted by majority

Let's move on to the review.
I like the plot, the guy being sexually confused and all of that, but I agreed to most of the comments that it is a bit rushed for the character's development to bloom. I want to know more about their roles and more about the story line. It could've been more of a drama series than a movie to make it smooth. The ending, I just can't. Another deduction of the point for the story line because of the ending, it left me hanging, I'm like "That's it?", Again, I wanted to know more and more about the characters, the story and the aftermath, but rather than that, I think that it is really a good plot & the mixture of suspense and romance, it just needed to be longer.
The characters. A BIG SALUTE to OH SEUNG HOON (Yeong Woo) and PARK SON WOONG (Jae Ha) for also having the courage to take those roles. Oh Seung Hoon is just a rookie to acting but he is doing so well and I wish him for more leads because I will watch his dramas/movies for sure. <3
The background music really fits the scenes so I have no problem with it.
Rewatch? I would rewatch for that short romance of Yeong Woo and Jae Ha (LOL). But plot-wise, I would watch it again also.
Overall, amazing cast and acting, good story line, and great movie! :)
PS. I'm having a crush on Seung Hoon after watching this because of taking the role, omg Nam Joo Hyuk I'm sorry, I will always love you and support you :')

First off, the story was a different kind of story... Two men, instead of a man and a woman, which is already a big thing, especially in South Korea. There was indeed some blood and violence as well... The character Youngwoo was the one that caught my attention the most, but I wish that we got to know him better. Besides the fact that he's an idol, we didn't know much more. Jaeha was as well a complex person and I feel like you couldn't put his role into a few minutes of chracter analysis. However the actors all did an amazing job... If I would rewatch this, it would be for the acting. I'll take this chance to promote Oh Seung Hoon, he's a rookie actor and this is his second role...! He did so well and hope to see him get more roles soon :)
Something that really bothered me is the fact that this movie was only 1h22min which is way too short for a movie with this much depth. The characters and the plot could've developed so much more if the movie was around 2 hours instead. It would've been a better story, easier to understand and probably more enjoyable to watch. The characters weren't those kinds of characters where you could basically guess what they would do next. While it's a good thing that the plot is not expectable, one should be able to say "ah, now that i see it, it does seem like something they would do".
In the end I actually enjoyed this movie very much, even though the ending left me a bit disappointed... However, I'll probably watch it again once the english subtitles are out...

Method started out like it should've been different. Method is not 'genius'. Method was a film that potential but was executed extremely weak. It’s like the screenwriter had this beautiful story between an idol turn stage actor and an experienced senior in the same industry and basically said fuck it.
As a gay person, constantly seeing tragic storylines and endings for gay characters gets tiresome. when I saw Method, looked at the cover, read the plot, I was giddy. I thought to myself 'Oh my gosh I get to see a beautiful, melodramatic story about actors taking their method acting to new heights. And it did begin as something like that, however not even halfway through, it dissolves into the usual drama tropes and I had so many questions by the end.
Why couldn't they be happy? Why did he have to be married? What that necessary? The little twist that we kind of has isn't exactly one because you know what you're getting. There are wonderful moments like our two leads practically eloping at a beach, the entirety of the film was like that. I wanted more emotional moments like their first script reading where tears fell are the closeness of touching for the time, but we don't get that--instead, we get the same drama tropes, and that's disappointing. While the music (I actually can’t even remember anything from the score) and story of Method was at all not memorable, the acting, given what they had was tremendous. Having a rookie and a veteran actor act together seems like the only good decision made in the making of this film and the leads, in particular, give a story without substance salvation (ex. the beautiful ass beach scene like what COULD’VE had)
All in all, I wouldn't recommend watching and using your time on Method, it's not as good as it can be. It's not as if I'm a film snob but I can tell between an obviously well-round film one that isn't.
From what I saw from a lot of people when commenting on the film and in review talked about how much gayness isn’t seen a lot in Korean media which is true for the most part clinging to every cent of representation is not what I want. I want something that is consumable and I want a beautiful story depicting gay love just straight love can be shown as and this movie just wasn’t. Issa a no from me dawg.

Soundtrack for the movie is really good and it sets a specific mood prefect for the plot.
Park Seong Ung was perfect for the role, I really enjoyed how he presented the inner battle and the forbidden lust for a married man.
O Seung Hun performance was above my expectations. I can't wait to see him glow more.
I would say Yun Seung A had more of supporting role.
Directing was awesome!
Almost everything in this move was 5 stars.
The only think I didn't enjoy was the screaming and the Shakespeare like moments during the play.

method acting gone awry
This is actually a really intriguing movie about a method actor who doesn't know where to separate himself from the character. If the character he plays is in love, so is he, and that actually makes him a bad method actor. David Suchet (the British actor who played Poirot for 25 years) is also a method actor and a brilliant one. He became Poirot every time he put the mustache on. That was his triggering point to become the character that he played. The voice, the walk, the demeanor, the stature, everything else fell into place for him once that mustache was put on.This guy does not have something that triggers him to become the character once the camera (a.k.a the play) is rolling. He just becomes the character permanently until the play is over and he doesn't have a use for the character anymore. This isn't about a guy suddenly discovering he's gay. It's about a guy who can't rein in his method-acting ability and give it a skeleton, a structure. It's really tragic, actually. I mean, his poor wife, suffering through this every time he's in a play? Yikes. This time seems to be worse though since he never filled out any of his method-acting notebooks for Unchain, which means he was even more unstable than usual with not even notebooks to ground him into Walter's motivations and personality traits.
I get people wanting to label this BL, but it's not. I mean, maybe Young Woo is gay or bi, possibly, but even more than that, he's pretty psychotic. The dude had scary vibes rolling off him in waves at the end. Everything they did was done as the characters of Walter and Singer. It's all fake, people. They're so into their characters of Walter and Singer that they're not themselves anymore. Which really means they shouldn't be actors.
It was good, and a really good look into the idea of method acting gone seriously awry. Maybe the original story was intended as BL (I honestly have no idea), but that is not the message I got.

I'm sick and tired of most Asian LGBT series or movie ending like sh*t. First, there is not such thing as liking someone that identifies with your same sex and not being gay.
Second, most certainly not every gay has a girlfriend/boyfriend, and most definitely not every one in the exact same period of time that they realize they like their best friend, coworker or else.
Third, you can choose to be with the person you love and have a happy ending (I know there are a few dramas that end well but it's the minority).
Fourth, you can break up with the person you are dating before you act on your desires.
Fifth, if you don't want to be with someone, or you start having feelings for someone else while in a relationship you should break up with the person you are with, you don't have to wait till that person cheats, or gives you a reason, not wanting to be in a relationship is reason enough.
Last but not least: BEING GAY IS NOT A BAD THING, IS NOT A LIFE SENTENCE, OR SOMETHING TO HATE YOURSELF FOR, IS JUST LIKE YOUR TYPE OF BLOOD, OR YOUR ZODIAC SIGN, IS JUST ANOTHER FEATURE ABOUT YOU THAT'S ALL.

I did feel like they could've dug into detail a bit more and we could get more interactions between the two main characters but it did satisfy overall and didn't feel boring or too forced both actors nailed their parts and got my head spinning at some points.
The tone change between the beginning when we had outdoor scenes and much brighter colors to the darker blue-ish tones by the ending scenes and the whole actual play sequence.
I am looking forward to see more south Korean movies of this caliber with lgbtq themes in the future.

Loved every second of this movie. Definitely not for the faint hearted as the themes and all round story could cause some people to get lost. Story - a breath of fresh air that slowly poisons you unknowingly. I ,along with many others , were tricked into thinking this was a light hearted movie about actors falling in love however that is very wrong! By the end I was biting my nails wondering if it was all an act or if it was real. I won’t spoil too much but if you’re looking for a roller coaster ride that decides to go backwards just when you think it’s over, this is for you.
Acting/cast - Wow. Park sung woong never fails to amaze me. I am not familiar with any of the other actors and actresses however they definitely performed amazingly, perfectly portraying every emotion to the tiniest detail. Both of the main leads did an unbelievably good job, really making you believe they’re in love despite being straight in real life.
Music - I can’t say much about the music as I was too focused on the acting and story to even realise there was any playing, oops!
Rewatch value - definitely worth rewatching. There is so much to break apart within this movie, it really got me thinking and invested just that little bit more.
Overall - Not for everyone but worth checking out anyway. Even if you’re not that interested the performance of the actors are enough to want to keep watching.
(This is my first review and it is very biased as I just love Park Sung Woong but I hope you can check our Method nonetheless and see for yourself what a gripping movie it is) :)

as is actors need to be gender-fluid, especially if they want to do all kinds of roles to get awards and be recognized as "great". they can't be uptight about roles. so the title and the acting was apt.
i think Yeong-woo's character was indeed in love, maybe he's bi or even if he was straight, i think the turning point was at the start where Jae-ha forced him to get into the role by physically pulling him out of his chair and then acting out the scene with him, his tears were real.
i think cause of the accident or maybe the life of an idol was getting old, he was apathetic to it all. but when Jae-ha took a hold of him physically, that was the start for him, from there on everything he did was not only to get close but to tease and awaken the same attraction in Jae-ha.
in the play - his acting as if he had really acted out the plays storyline on Jae-ha and his gf, was to punish Jae-ha for denying his feeling and acting as if his confession and the time they spent together affirming their love, was only acting. this was sad but also showed a side of acting that most know about, but gloss over. this was well acted and an interesting watch -
