I am speechless. One hour well spent. I really have no idea how this 1-hour drama could give me so much feels.

Although this is actually a typical drama storyline, nothing special or unique, I really like how the story and the pace are displayed. It is a 1-hour drama, but it does not feel rushed. Everything is going smoothly until the very end. I think the casts and acting play a big role in making this drama a spectacular drama. All of them portray their characters so nicely, I can really feel their emotions, chemistry and everything else. I am familiar with Jinyong and Soo Bin. However, I am not familiar with the other main lead guy. Nevertheless, I really hope to see him in more dramas in the future. Besides being an eye candy, he is really good at conveying his emotions. Good job! In terms music, the end music is super nice. I love it. It is very memorable and it is currently giving me an earworm ._. Hmm.. although it is good, I dont think I will rewatch this again, it is good for a one-time watch hehe

However, despite the 'perfectness', I do feel that there are some plotholes. Some of the problems are not clearly solved. I do wish those problems could be solved clearly but then considering the 1-hour time, I can let this slide :D

Overall, perfect! Recommended! ;)

Wow. No ones written a review. First, this drama special is basically a movie. A 1 hour movie. No more episodes, this is it. Also warning it is open ended, BUT I think the ending is pretty clear, so feel free to message me if you're confused. Now onto the review, first this drama is very realistic in my opinion. The characters, their reactions, the ending they all feel realistic to me. It doesn't feel like "ugh another romance I'll never have" it feels more true to life. Secondly, the acting is great. I mean guys it's chae soo bin and dong Yoon, fairly new faces but they've been great in everything. Dong Yoon always impresses me. I mean not just "wow good acting" I mean whatever character he is, his story always leaves a mark. Ji Hoon (Solomons Perjury), Dae Hwi (School 2017), and Gi Seok (If we were a season) all left their own mark on me. I applaud Dong Yoon for always picking stories/characters that I can't get out of my head. Now onto Chae Soo Bin, she is also a great actresss, but unfortunately always pick characters that grate me. Finally, she FINALLY picked a character that I loved and could root for. Do you know how long I've been waiting for this?? For her to pick a character that I liked! I loved her character, and she feels so real and relatable. She has her own story, and feels like her own character not just a pairing to dong Yoon, no she's her own person too. Her story had a great message to all people dating and *spoiler* it's ok to date multiple people, you don't always know what you want, and sometimes it's better to wait*spoiler end* so few dramas portray this, and so few movies, so I'm glad this one did! Thirdly, I personally love the ending. Both characters grow, and I think it really turned out for best. Again, if any confusion message me, and I can maybe clear things up, or we can have a healthy debate lol. Overall this drama special  was definitely well done, would have no problem rewatching! I reccomend to all out there!

A heartbreaking but a very heart warming drama about youthful love. The drama has a typical premise but, it perfectly encapsulated how pure love can be for young people. Also, it  has a perfect pace. The story was clearly told despite its very short duration (1 hour). The actors did a great job. They were really able to convey the realistic emotions of their characters regarding their situations. I fell in love with Jang Dong Yoon. This is the first time I see his acting, and I really did feel bad for Uhm Ki Suk. Even if the ending was open-ended, I can only think that there will be a continuation on their relationship. All in all the drama was moving, I cried. And as I finished watching the whole thing, I smiled.  I recommend this one especially if you love warm hugs.  :)

Joy and Heartache of First Love

This movie makes my heart ached terribly. The FL and ML have known each other since they were babies. They grew up together, as next door neighbors and best friends. The last year of high school, the ML is trying to decide the risk of confessing his love: what he will gain and what he will lose. In the midst of this possible friendship to romantic love, a new transfer student begins to woo the FL. The FL tells the ML that she tried but her heart couldn’t deny liking the transfer student. So, the FL and ML slowly grow apart. As she is about to leave for Seoul, the ML meets her on the train platform. They are saying their tearful good-byes. The ML gives the FL a warm hug thinking back to what the FL said about an ending to a movie: that a hug is better than a kiss because a hug is not a good-bye but a continuation of the story. The one-hour is short, but the script and direction are tight and very well done. Within the timeframe, the movie was able to convey sweet friendship and the heartache and joy of love (especially a young first love).

Warning this drama will make you cry a river, get your tissue box ready
The ending is sad, like most drama specials.

I wish it would be a drama series because I really like the leads. I think all the cast played their characters perfectly and you could really understand how they were feeling.
I really like the plot, but I wanted a happy ending for at least one of the leads. They hugged- which means it's not the end right, I don't want their lifetime friendship to break just because of that incident.
I watched this drama twice and both times I got emotional. The story felt so real. The plot isn't a cliche romance where the leads love each other and live happily ever after. Sometimes you have to sacrifice love in order not to hurt others <3

"A tight hug for an ending to warm your heart"

If you like drama specials, than you will like this one. As a one episode story, it is well executed and it didn't really miss much of the plot, exept some points that weren't explained well and it felt like they have forgoten about these twists of the plot. The performances were really good by the young cast, as they had to pull off some difficult scenes. Also, the story was cute and it had a very realistic ending that concluded nicely. The music, finally, was nice and it suited the drama. So seven out of ten.

Great story idea, flawed execution

No Spoilers Until Warning

You may be confused that I gave the story and acting 8's but the drama itself only a 6. This is because the story that I had full context for by the end was great, but the way it was shown seemed a bit messy.

Let me start by saying that I loved the first 45 minutes of this special. The plot was great throughout the special, but towards the end it definitely seemed like things were rushed. The flow of the story telling isn't always chronological which is usually fine, but in this case there are definitely some spots where the ordering of the story showed you some things without full context and then give more context later. And then in the last 5 minutes, they give more context for scenes throughout the whole special in the form of a reminiscing montage. I personally thought that if that montage scenes had been spread out throughout the special or at least shown earlier it would've given a lot more context for why people acted or felt a certain way.

MAJOR SPOILERS AHEAD!!!

There are also some parts that just don't seem super fleshed out. In the first few minutes, they have a montage of the two main characters being friends throughout their childhood talking through their windows. At one point the guy is drying his hair in the window either shirtless or naked and then she sees him, screams, throws a stuffed toy at him, and then slams her window shut. And then they both seem annoyed at each other and don't speak again for years... until the first scene where her bike breaks and she flies a bit and then lands in his arms. It seemed a bit lazy to not clearly explain why they hadn't talked for years. But then they pick up right where they left off as super close friends. And then later on there's a single side plot that has basically no resolution and then they loosely tie it into the main plot. They show a flash of a quote from the side plot when the girl walks away in the climax, but they don't give you context for why the quote is relevant until a bit later so it's a bit confusing when you see it.

Speaking of the climax, it was my main issue with the special. I have no issue with what happened because it seemed very realistic. However, it seemed very rushed and also not fleshed out. Starting from the climax until the ending scene, every clip is cut up into short bursts of dialogue without super clear transitions. They don't have a continuous coherent conversation, but rather it shows pieces of a conversation as they go to school one day. And showing shots of leaves, trees, and grass also isn't a super precise way to convey how much time has passed so towards the end you kinda just have to infer from what the characters say.

All in all, I really appreciate the storyline and the overall plot, but the way it was presented kinda took a lot away from my appreciation of it as a whole. I feel like it could have been a completely different experience with a few different editing choices, a few extra scenes for more explanation and resolution, a more continuous climax, and just a tiny subtitle before the last few scenes saying exactly how much time had passed. With those changes I could see it being an 8 or 9 but given the director and writer's choices, I personally see it as a 6.
