FRUSTRATING
To put it quiet frankly: this drama is an ongoing frustration from start to finish.ML and FL had nearly zero happy moments together!
40 plus episodes and all there was was suffering one way or another: work, relationships, affairs, crazy ass mistresses, shouting, temper tantrums, killings, blackmail, attempted murder, more blackmail, tears, lots of crying and a happy ending in the very last few minutes of the very last episode!!!!
By the way, the SFL is one of the greatest psychos in c drama history! But of course, at the end, after she blackmailed the ML to marry her, living with him and making his life hell for 5 years, intentionally nearly killing the ML - OF COURSE, he apologized to her, he still wants to be friends, he forgives her for everything!
If you are prepared for that, go ahead. If you want your romance drama with, well, romance: stay away!

Process vs Result
I am only writing this review because I’ve noticed too many people who watch Chinese drama only watch a handful of episodes and give reviews which are misleading.1. The story starts out with the Female lead who is in her last year of university. This where she starts dating her classmate not because she fell in love with him but because she is grateful to him for saving her. She also meets the male whose best friend’s sister has had a crush on him ever since she was a child.
2. The male leads parents marriage falls apart because his father has an affair with female lead’s best friend.
The story takes us through Dou Dou’s (female lead) life as she evolves as a young idealistic university student, into a journalist who is willing to stay loyal to man until he loses himself to greed and falls in love with a man who is just as idealistic as she is. We see Dou Dou lose herself and fight to find herself and also we see her love someone so deeply and let him go.
The premise of this story is about the age old debate of process vs the result. Is getting what you want more important than how you get it? Love is not perfect and we see several couples in this drama show us how imperfect but also how beautiful love can be. It is not a rom com and definitely not light. The female lead is strong but she loses that the deeper she falls in love but we see her move from student to journalist to a PR specialist reporting into her lover to her starting a business alone.
The FL and ML don’t have a smooth ride to their happy ending. My biggest criticism of this drama is that the writers wasted time in the last 3 or so episodes. I think it’s episode 41 where the ML and FL are stuck in the rain we don’t get to see what is said in that moment, what shakes him so much that he finally loses it with his wife. It’s inconceivable with Dou Dou so resolute to leave that the ending is as it is with no heart heart and no confession. The ending left me feeling cheated but I am glad that the bad guys had to face the consequences of their actions
Overall it was an enjoyable story if frustrating at times.

Classic Chinese Melodrama
I like melodrama, so i liked this...until the last episode. It felt super rushed and like it should have had more episodes but got cut short. After all they went through, the last 5 minutes was it?! Despite the ending, i do recommend watching if you enjoy classic chinese melodramas. It's full of tropes; misunderstanding, intrigue, scandals, blackmail, family crisis, betrayal. All the usual things. You'll love some characters and really hate others. Some things will probably make you angry and some will be super satisfying. All in all, I would recommend this to seasoned cdrama viewers, but maybe not to newbie fans.Esta resenha foi útil para você?

i really thought it was going to be another cookie cutter type of drama......NOooooo!!!! This is about the entire cast.It about the institute of marrige and how well you can handle it along with the rest of your life. (I dont want to hive too much away)
It really isnt "fully" about the couple, but about coupleS. It has a ton of twist and turns thaf i hope comes together in the end or i will be changing this review.
Its touching and teaching at the same time. I recommend this. It definitely binge worthy

I guess the drama story was just the beginning of the drama ...I don't see much happening with our heroes...all the story is about the fight btw the divorced mother and father....regrets and revenge.....I wish the heroes had a bigger story ...or more ep about the hero's sickness...even in those few ep nothing really big happened with the heros ....I even couldn't feel or understand how did they fall in love ...I had a lot of expectations about this drama from the first ep ...but that changed ....I hope they can change my mind another timeEsta resenha foi útil para você?
