Here the heroes individually are insignificant, helpless. Together they can make a difference.
"Falsify" (also "Distorted") tells an exciting story about the business with official truth. I think this works particularly well as the KDrama offers a critical examination of the rather difficult concept of 'truth', which can be bent and manipulated depending on the eye of the viewer. Is the rule of law just a pretty farce? Rather an eloquent backdrop for the mighty who operate in the shadow? Does actually anything like justice exist? What truth are we hearing? Which one do we want to hear? Which preferably not? Is it always so good to bring the truth to light?Regarding the recently common term 'lying media', used as an accusations from all different directions, "Falsify" offers a burning issue. Also a bit of an 'Watergate Affair' in South Korean garb (as the underlying case resembles some real South Korean one). Sophisticated journalism and sensation-hungry tabloids, public prosecutors and lawyers as law enforcement officers, so called respectable (yet cheating) businessmen as well as gangs are all frighteningly close together. Against this background, seldom has sich wide range of positions, attitudes and motivations been thus successfully intertwined and presented close to touch on the basis of individual fates, altogether mixed up in an exciting story. Abysses open up in view of social ideals and their illusions. And yet hope is not lost in the face of (quite deadly) superiority.
This is definitely not a ´Marvel´-like (super)hero story. Here the 'heroes' individually are insignificant, inconspicuous, fallible, and to some extend helpless puppets in a complex mechanism that is controlled by opaque forces. However, together they can make a difference in co-creation - by bundling their potentials, throwing their prejudices overboard, getting involved with each other, learning to trust each other (despite initial contempt), and no longer reflecting on what separates them. The key is a unifying idea that is bigger than each individual (with their physical, emotional or social needs). They want to give this idea shape, body, weight and charisma with all imaginable creative means. This cross-personal idea is what gives them strength (even in the face of massive personal threats) and overcomes fear. Here it is the idea of a democratic constitutional state in which there is justice for ALL; in which ALL are equal before the law; in which every citizen can/must bear responsibility for his/her actions - the price for the freedom of responsible citizens: a minimum consensus of laws, rights and obligations that are binding and binding for everyone.
This idea sounds nicer and more promising than it really is, because it usually stays with the idea that is trampled on behind the scenes. Yet, it is (real) people who fill this (abstract) idea with life. But where there are people, there are also their corruptibility, their greed, their vulnerability to blackmail and their cowardice, as well as the fitting people to unscrupulously exploit such weak points. South Korea's young democracy and long history of corruption and mighty ones operating in the shadow offers a realistic, scandal-ridden environment to process this exciting and at the same time outrageous KDrama - thus offering a wide range of gray tones, emotionally differentiated and authentic.
By following various protagonists from the press and the courts, the story begins with individual threads of action that are at best loosely connected to one another, but which become entangled over the course of the story and together form a strong strand that everyone can pull on together. So a bit of patience is required from the audience, but it pays off! The differently motivated characters come to life in a tangible way, become comprehensible in good and bad and reveal a reality about the business with truth that makes you shudder. We as the audience are ourselves cleverly integrated as part of the story - as representatives of public opinion and thus as perpetrators and victims at the same time.
Wow!
Good job. Ambitous. Thought-provoking.
P.S.:
Also ideally suited for repeated series enjoyment due to the differentiated, complex story.

the story in the beginning may seem normal to you and similar to political dramas, but its not really the cast were smart in their movements and the tricks and schemes from all sides were good which makes it very interesting to watch, it didnt drag quite the opposite the number of episodes were pretty good and keeps you attached.
The acting for me was flawless, perfect choice of cast, I mean its Nam Gong Min and he is certainly a top rated actor, nevertheless the rest of the cast was just about right.
The script lines, hidden messages, and quotes hanging on the walls were really good. I would recommend this show to anyone without a second thought.

In the first few episode it might seem like a political drama, where its all about power. But as the story progress you see this different layers in the characters and the next thing you know you are rooting for them. There are some part that are very emotional, some light comedy and some sweet moments between the two leads characters.
It starts a little slow but it picks up after a few episodes.
The acting was amazing. Nam Goong Min was awesome. Uhm Ji Won, I really liked her.
Suran's song was Perfect. Love that song.
And lastly...Do try it and judge it for yourself.

No Boring episodes, every episode makes you want to watch the next and the next and the next until you realise that the show is over.
this show has everything, it even had a little bit of "romance" or some sweet moments between the leads.

It’s never too late to fight for the truth.
The media who are named the 4th Power. The police are supposed to protect us.
The prosecution is here to defend us.
When those in power failed to achieve their duty, what can we do?
When the powerless are only pawns to them, who can help them?
The story follows Han Moo-Young who the system failed him. Who thought they could be on the right side and end up facing the hard pill to swallow.
This drama told us about what’s right and what is wrong.
Would you tell lies in order to be safe and live a comfortable life or fight for the truth no one wants to tell and being in danger?
When the higher-ups want to cover the ugly truth whatever it takes, the victims have nothing left to say and don’t have the power to claim justice.
This drama proves to us that the powerful side took the “easy“ road to get what they want.
In a world full of fake news this show has learned me a thing: never take news for granted or being totally true.
As long they are courageous people to fight right the injustice, this world still worth a chance. Before watching it I was already very suspicious of the media and those in power but now I don’t trust them at all.

I think the casting would have perfect if the main girl cast wasn't so angry in the beginning, I thought she should have played a more empathetic woman in the beginning instead of a hostile one. I think the script made a better sense if she played an more empathetic person, however the way she played seems to that the character just didn't want any fault to be hers, even though in the drama she supposedly played a very kind, hard working, and compassionate person, it didn't seem like it in the beginning.
The music was nice it accompanied the drama nicely, but not to memorable.
I would watch it again, but think the ending was really open, it had one of the most open ended ending ever that I was slightly disappointed, and I would not recommend the drama to people who dislike open endings.

Nam Goong Min, Yoo Joon Sang and Uhm Ji Wok did an amazing job. I loved the acting most.
The plot was interesting. There was a tiny slice of romance that gave the story some kind of sweetness.
There was something that made me feel like i'm watching super hero movie, but without the special effects and super powers.
I didn't enjoy only one moment in the ending - but this is personal taste.
The OST is really good, sadly i couldn't find most memorable melody.

Quality kdrama with focus on News reporters and getting together a cause!
This is for lovers of Thriller, News reporters/Media genre. There is slight romance and thriller is not edge of the seat! The strength of the kdrama is the screenplay and cast chemistry, it’s epic! It’s like they’ve been living together for years together. The casting is top notch! There are twists and turns too! The ML kind of grows as a person and the ML FL characters are strong, well written. The negative characters are portrayed to great standards. I think that’s what makes this kdrama a very watchable and purposeful one!

How Could I Not Love This drama
How could I not love this drama when two of my favorite actors Namkoong Min and Yoo Joon Sang are the male leads.I have to admit though that there were times I got frustrated with how long it took to solve Han Chul Ho’s murder. There’s a point where I always think too much time is given to the bad guys. Plus I was disappointed that the elders weren’t exposed.
Aside from that I think this is now my favorite Namkoong Min drama. Han Moo Yeong has replaced my all time favorite character from Listen to My Heart or Can you hear my heart Bong Ma Roo/Jang Joon Ha.
I don’t think there’s a drama I haven’t liked of Yoo Joon Sang’s. Watching Namkoong Min and Yoo Joon Sang work side by side was such a treat for me. A shame there was no season 2 so the elders could be revealed to make them suffer for the wrong they did to innocent children and seeing these two work together again.
I also have to give kudos to the whole cast.
