Now if u see the posters, u can see that both the dramas have the same actress as FL but that not a reason why i recommend it. Its becuz both of them have a similar vibe to it. I recommend it not cause of the plots, osts or nothing like that and if u look at it like that, they seem worlds apart but i believe that due to reasons, that both the dramas have a connection!
Hope u like it!

> Both dramas main female characters love painting.
> Kim Yoo Jung is in both dramas (she's the child version of Moon Geun Young in Painter of the Wind)
> Jang Tae Yoo is director of both dramas
==> expect some lucious paintings for Hong Chun Gi/Lovers of the Red Sky as they were depicted well in Painter of the Wind.
> Some instrumentals from Painter of the Wind also feature in Hong Chun Gi/Lovers of the Red Sky
> Trivia: Hong Chun Gi/Lovers of the Red Sky is the reunion between Jang Tae Yoo and Kim Yoo Jung 13 years after Painter of the Wind.
(PS: Painter of the Wind deserves a rating higher than 7.8, if this is a post 2016 drama, it would have gotten a higher score, at least 8.5).

Alchemy of souls season 2 contains romance and magic just like Lovers of the red sky. There are similar special effects. In both series there are also otherworldly powers standing between the main characters.

similar themes of a talented girl in an academy (art academy in LOTRS and a swordsman academy in GFB)
similar fantastical elements of boy sharinf a body with a non human being
both have elements of a romantic comedy
GFB can have dark, more serious themes than LOTRS
Both invoke similar emotions, and have similar settings in the drama
GFB has Lee Seunggi as an immortal, so far Ahn HyoSeop is very much mortal in the drama
Both have strong female leads working in male dominant fields
good friendships in both dramas
both are slowburns in terms of romances, with childhood connections. the romance has a similar vibe. really really enjoyable.
emotionally well thought out and well written characters

Supernatural historical drama that draws on a lot of the same legends and stories. Interesting plots and characters with compelling backstories.

Both Female Leads are always protected and loved by more than 1 male character. They are both talented in the arts.

Both Male leads are often recognized as scary individuals and will go through a deep character development once they meet the female lead.

Both deals with family issues (evil relatives trying to steal the thrown and kill their family members) and has a forbidden love concept (Romeo & Juliet vibe).

During the Joseon Dynasty, a young woman named Hong Chun Ki is a painter – a true rarity in Joseon Korea, where Confucian values dictate that such pursuits are unsuitable for a woman. She was born blind but somehow managed to acquire a sense of vision. And now she has been accepted to the most prestigious art college in the land. One day, she meets Ha Ram, an astrologer whose fate is the polar opposite of her own: Although he was born sighted, he lost his vision in a childhood accident. Regardless, he is also in possession of an astounding talent that allows him to read the future by tracing the movement of the sky at night despite the fact that he is blind. The duo is sucked into the machinations of the royal court, particularly those involving two princes, the free-spirited Prince Yang Myung and the cruel, scheming Prince Joo Hyang – a man who longs to become the next Joseon king.

Both dramas have the same vibe and rythm. Even though Red Sky has a more dynamic conflict, those dramas are still considered light and the romance vibe are kinda similar.

Set during the Joseon dynasty, Red Sleeve tells the story about the life of a court lady and the impact to the palace. There's some background of story that's based on the actual case.

Even though Red Sky is based on mythological background, it's still a light warming drama and is easy to swallow.

It tells the love story about a blind astrologer and a painter in the middle of chaos happened in the Kingdom caused be the devil spirit.

If you're into slow burn historical romance, Red Sleeve is definitely the perfect fit to watch along with Red Sky. As I watched these two, I felt that the vibe was connected perfectly.
