Story: The main reason why I doubted this drama is because of the story (Rich man falling in love with poor woman and everyone is against them) let's be honest here this concept is been used so many times already not just in K dramas but all over the world. What makes "Lovers in Paris" story so special?? Well, it is special the story made me go through so many emotions (and I'm not the type of person that goes through emotions or cry over scenes no matter how sad they were... it's my first time tearing up for a Romantic Drama such as Lovers in Paris). This story is really classic now I understand why, cus even though towards the end "certain characters" made me really pissed off and annoyed (I almost kicked my screen) I thought that I wouldn't rate it as 10 because of those characters behaviors towards the end (it was just too much) but what happened in the last episode was more than enough for me to forget about how annoyed I was with some characters. The main couple's lines and scenes were enough for me to rate this drama 10 they deserve it this drama deserve a 10.
Acting: Park Shin Yang !! OMG I saw him in sign and loved him there he's such a great actor I never saw his romantic side...but I saw it in here he is MAN you'd wish to have for your own he did a great job I loved him the most (his romantic scenes, his character and his acting SIGH everything about him was mesmerizing me). The rest of the cast did a great job as well Kim Jung Eun annoyed me at first but as the story proceeds I started liking her. As for Lee Dong Gun oh my I really hated him and got really sick of his character but that just shows he acted it too well for me to get this annoyed by him.
Music: I LOVED one song (To Your Side by Jo Sung Mo) OMG how I love this song whenever they played it I would always repeat the scenes and react strongly to the them... it's just too mesmerizing with breathe taking lyrics I ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT I'm even trying to memorize it to be able to sing it as well as Jo Sung Mo I will love it forever.
Rewatch: This is one drama I would gladly rewatch because it is filled with sweet romantic scenes and I'm sure I'm going to miss this cute couple very soon.
Overall: This drama is one of the best romantic dramas out there, it is PURELY and COMPLETELY romantic filled with sweet romance!! Lovers in Paris is also known for its drama lines ppl still remember those lines said by the actors (I didn't know why ppl were making such a big deal about those lines even after so many year have passed I didn't get why until I actually saw the drama).... My favorite line for Park Shin Yang is "Ore Aige (My Baby)" and for Lee Dong Gun "You're inside me".

This Drama Did Not Work For Me....sorry
I chanced upon this drama from a YouTube pop up. The title was nice enough and after doing a bit of searching on the show, I decided to give it a go. Unfortunately, I struggled through the 20 episodes after the 4th episode. The love story grew a little bit more dramatic as it went along as everyone tries to break the couple up to the extend that it appeared a little bit silly.1st, why would it be a problem to reveal that Han Ki Joo's (Park Shin Yang) sister is actually his mother?? After all, even though he was born of a different father, his mother is still the daughter of the rich father, who is in reality Ki Joo's grandfather. Ki Joo runs the car manufacturing business well, upright, decent and experienced enough to hold the fort. So, how could the fact that his parenting issue even over-shadow such a successful person?? A bit too dramatic.
2nd, how would this be also the main reason for Kang Tae Young (Kim Jung Eun) to separate from Ki Joo just because his 'secret' is exposed? Any normal couple will talk it over to manage such incidents, but this character chose to run away from it all fearing that this is affect Ki Joo's career. Appeared a bit too naive for me for a grown adult.
3rd, it seems also a little bit too weird of Tae Young's expression towards Yoon Soo Hyuk (Lee Dong Gun), Ki Joo's uncle/brother, even though her character is supposedly not in love with him but Ki Joo. For someone who feels guilty about hurting Soo Hyuk (by turning him down and choosing his uncle/brother), she showed too much care to the extent that she is continuing to encourage Soo Hyuk. Even towards the final few episodes, she held so much guilt, sympathy and feeling for him, enough to leave Ki Joo, made me want to punch something, anything....eeeek. So this direction of the story did not do too well for Tae Young's character.
Last, but not least, I found there is too little chemistry between Ki Joo and Tae Young. For a couple who is so in love, there is just not enough of holding, kissing or warm affection from the moment they confessed their love for each other. To the point that there was too much politeness and distance. The Director should have created a more emotionally connected couple. The couple look distant, even when they are close together.
What was consistent and stood out well in the entire drama was the closeness between the uncle/brother relationship between Ki Joo and Soo Hyuk. I find that this was written well and earned 4 points in my story score. One could feel the brotherhood, love and forgiveness of each other through their trials and tribulations. I also personally felt that the ex-wife played by Kim Soo Hyeong is a much better fit for Ki Joo as her character had a sense of maturity, understanding and warmth well suited to Ki Joo.
Well so much for the story. As for the actors, I was glad to have been introduced to Park Shin Yang and Kim Jung Eun. Did some research and reading on these two actors and I must say they have had a long career and a lot of good dramas and accolades of the past and I am going to enjoy watching some of them. In fact, surprisingly, Lovers In Paris had very high rating when it aired 2004, however I do not think this drama will do as well in the current climate of 2020 due to strong competition in Korean dramas.
In the meantime, watch Lovers In Paris only if you have run out of K-Dramas to watch and is not too sticky about story line that makes sense. Sorry, overall scoring 4 and I will not be watching this drama again.
