Lily Frankie (Pieta in the Toilet, Million Yen Women and his life story is told in Tokyo Tower (Me, Mom, and sometimes Dad)2007) doesn't take normal roles and his movies usually push society norms and thoughts. This movie is in the same vein.
The story was told well but you need to finish the movie to get to the thought provoking ending. It was tagged as comedy and I do not see how it can be. Medical, Family, Sci-fi I totally agree with.

I think i get the environmental message and appreciate the new light they shed on the issue of climate change, which was really thought provoking for me.
Last but not least, the unconventional attitude and actions of the family at the end left me with a warm heart and a teary eye.
"A beautiful star" gave me mixed feelings, I don't regret watching but I don't think I'd watch it again.
If you're going to watch, keep a very open mind and lower your expectations for the story to make much sense at the end.

Now, let me start with the acting, it was absolutely well done. These are professional actors who know how to do their job which I also give credit to the behind the camera staff for.
However, as soon as I got into the story I was confused from beginning to end on what was happening. I believe they tried to explain with symbolism, but honestly kinda of bored me to death.
