These dramas follow the journey of a young man who take on the responsibility of raising a toddler on their own. They struggle to find work balance and a proper comprehension of a child's heart and mind. Yet through the ups and downs they persist and grow as loving fathers.
Both series are about a single man bringing who suddenly ''decides'' to bring up a young girl. Though the girl in My Girl is the man's own child, the girl in Usagi Drop is the man's niece. Both are also about combining single-parenting and work. Also both are great! :)
Both films tackle the same thing: the struggle of a single man taking care of a child he barely knows. Usagi Drop is a little bit in the dramatic side while Baby and I is a little bit in the funny side, in my opinion. And the little difference is that the child in Usagi Drop is six years old while in Baby and I, the child is still an infant.
They are both about young guys who are trussed into parenthood. In Usagi Drop the main character decides to take in his very young aunt and in Baby & Me the main character finds out he has a son and must take care of him. Even though the stories are not exactly the same, they do have a similar feeling. Both guys are forced to change their lives to accommodate a child which they grow to love.
