What really got to me in this drama was the realism of it. There are people that go through these types of issues in real life, and they don't always have someone by their side to help them get back on their feet. In the drama you find out more about each person as the story progresses, it made me think a lot about the people in my own life, everyone struggles with something, some people have deep dark secrets their embarrassed to talk about or afraid to talk about.
The acting was done really well! Exceptional! I haven't seen any of the other actors act in anything else, except for Nishikido Ryo, I've seen him in 1 Litre Of Tears. Needless to say, seeing him go from his character there to this one proves how much of a good actor he is. Sosuke was dark, his character was scary in ways because of the things he did. Nagasawa Masami as Michiru did a really good job, you saw her character getting stronger as the drama progressed. Ueno Juri as Ruka did an excellent job, her character had a lot of internal suffering going on as you find out more as each episode ends. I loved Eita's character, Takeru, even with all the things he's gone through he's an upbeat guy, admirable. The rest of the cast was really good, as well.
The music was good, the theme song, "Prisoner Of Love" by Utada Hikaru was perfect for the drama. The lyrics really matched with what the characters felt. The instrumental to it was really nice as well. The rest of the instrumentals fit the drama as well.
Will I rewatch this again? Someday. Serious dramas like this I love and enjoy for their realism, but I'm not sure when I'll rewatch this, if I do it won't be for a while.
Overall: It's a really good drama, I'd recommend it to everyone. It deals with a lot of issues. I found myself needing to watch each episode, like I mentioned above - I wasn't bored with any of this drama. There was always something going on to keep me intrigued and wanting to see what happens next.
The impact of their friendship, how each of them were willing to do anything to protect each other, that's the most important part of this drama I feel.
I wished they'd of gone a little more into detail about a few things, but overall it was done really well, I can't say it enough!

non-boring story line? check
great OST? check (one of the best)
chemistry between actors? check (sizzling in some cases)
hilarious and embarrassing events? check
a beautiful love formation? check
actors acting their butts off? check (especially Shin Dong Wook's butt...um I mean acting butt...um I mean acting chops)
angst but not jump-off-the-cliff angst? check
a totally different way to tell a story (editing etc)? check (I haven't seen a drama do what it does to the story and not make it confusing but actually add to the awesome-ness)

One reason I love jdramas so much= the funny...and this show gives you plenty of it...I've re-watched it so many times and I STILL crack up every time:D
and its not just random funny things happening like in HanaKimi..there is an actual storyline and its not TOTALLY off the wall. It also helps that the girls are bada$$ and all of the parentals are cool and funny and the melodramatics aren't tooo...melo?...
Its not repetitive, the main two actors have chemistry, and I personally didn't think it slowed down... I think if you watch something like HanaKimi and then watch this show you might think its slower because they do add background stories to each character...but com'on! its only 10 episode and if not for anything else watch it to stare at the pretty that is Narimiya Hiroki and Hongo Kanata :)

I usually drop things quick if I dont think it was done well but this show picks up quick (esp since the episodes aren't that long) and I embraced the chunny-ness (cheesy-funny-ness?)

The acting was done really well, no complaints at all. It was nice seeing Yamapi in a different role. Kitagawa Keiko I've recently seen in Paradise Kiss and her character here is different and she did a good job in her role. The rest of the cast was great as well!
The music was good! I loved the main song, "Ichibu to Zenbu" by B'z, I still listen to it a lot. Also the instrumentals were nice and there was also some classical music.
I can see myself rewatching this series someday, not any time soon, but someday.
Overall I think this drama deserved all the awards it got. It was well acted and the story was really good and enjoyable. There were a few characters that got annoying, but most dramas have those. In the end you find yourself cheering on the main leads. Also the friends were really great as well!

Story- The story isn't so bad. In fact it would be very good if it were developed differently. What I simply couldn't tolerate was the way Bong Man/San Young treated Hae Chan, as if she were his object and burden. He never lets her grows as a person, or at least that's from my perspective. I thought the cutest couple were Bong Gyu and Hae Won. I just watched until episode 10, so maybe in the next episode the story will change and become super good, but I simply couldn't continue.
Acting-The cast isn't bad, they play their characters well, but they're nothing extraordinary, and I felt the leads had no chemistry at all.
Music-I really didn't like any song.
Rewatch value-I'd never ever rewatch this again, I couldn't even finish it.
Overall for me this was a dissapointing drama, I was expecting much more from it.

I wasn't sure if I wanted to watch an action based drama when I started this one, but each episode ended with such great cliff hangers that I couldn't help but become a fan. The story had so many great twists that I wasn't bored once while watching. The cast was great! Kim Sang Joong is amazing as the father who raises him for revenge. Kim Mi Sook broke my heart as his mom. Lee Joon Hyuk was good because he was so annoying, and frustrating to watch as the prosecutor. Park Min Young was cute as City Hunters love interest, but she started to become less interesting during the last episodes. As an ensemble the cast was top notch.
I would recommend City Hunter to anyone looking for a highly addictive drama. I don't know that it would be as exciting when rewatched since suspense is such a big part of the story. For those who are worried about too much action, there are also many cute (though typical) romantic moments, and some humor. The one horrible thing about City Hunter is, in spite of an epic ending to all of the action, the way they resolve everything at the end is extremely disappointing. It almost seemed like they were setting things up for a 2nd season, and surprisingly, 20 episodes later, I was hoping for one.

Detective Utsumi and Professor Yukawa has good chemistry. Although the slow romantic tension will kill stellar Korean drama watchers, its fine by all means in a japanese drama. Taking away romance and replacing it with more patnership and friendship are almost in 80% japanese drama. I think their relationship was developed enough and for romance suckers, you can have all you want in the 10th episode. Overall, it was a drama worth watching.

The acting, music and everything was great. The only problem I had with it was they didn't do much with Lee Yo Won character. Yeah she was basically in every scene but I wish there was more story to her character than just oh lets dedicate few episodes of why she ended up this way and how she got closure.

The cast also did a great job, and I was impressed by Lee Yo Won's range, and absolutely loved Jung Il Woo as the Scheduler. There were no weak links in the cast. I admit that Nam Gyu Ri did get on my nerves, but i think I was just annoyed by her character.
Though I would give the story, and acting high marks, and I even liked the soundtrack, I still have to give this drama an overall lower rating. My main issue with it was that it was soooo depressing. There's not much comic relief, and even romantic scenes always seemed to have a cloud of impending doom. It did make me reflect about life, but more so it made me depressed. The story centers around issues of betrayal, and grief, which aren't exactly happy topics. If you cry easily make sure you have a huge supply of tissue nearby as you watch this.
49 Days simply didn't give me the addicted "I gotta watch" feeling that I usually get from kdrama. I knew I wouldn't miss any characters once it was all over. I can't think of any memorable scenes, or moments that I would want to watch again. I watched all 20 episodes because I wanted to see how it would end, and once it ended I was satisfied, and ready to move on.
