squid games meet the hunger games
this short series is really a mix between Squid Games for the gaming stage and the cruel steps to reach the top. it also reminded me of the Hinger games as it is set into a distopian world where men are literally farmed following a pandemic that altered the way children are born.the reality show set by the governement to mask underground activities were also a good plot point.
But the staging is far below the quality I expected. The actors are ok but not tremendous, to my point of view. I still watched the 6 episodes and liked the hopelfull end but would have expected a bit more depth especially with the second leads.

I don't really know...
I really don't know what to think about this drama. Did I love it? No. Did I like it meh!... confusing right?I hesited at first because the theme reminded me of "The Secret Life of my Secretary" where the ML also has the same condition i.e not being able to recognise faces.
But I was swayed while watching "You are my spring" that's airing right now so I really caved in for See Hyun Jin. I was dreading also Lee Min Ki's performance as I dropped the last drama he did (O my landlady) because I think he is a robot. His face is stone cold all the time and I don't understand how a FL can develop chemistry with him...
BUT! I started watching (for lack of nothing else...).
My verdict: It's ok. Both leads have a history and that helps them to get closer. SHJ is great. She expresses her emotions freely. I love her relationship with her 2 best friends and how it develops throughout the drama.
The whole trope with the cold CEO bla bla bla that we've seen a gazillion times is boring, mainly because LMK is (sorry to repeat myself) a machine. I don't understand how she can fall in love with this man. She clearly doesn't because she pitying him (at least) but it's a mystery to me.
We've seen these drama so many times, I feel for the writers to find something original. The funny part was Ahn Jae Hyun's character, going from "I want to be a priest" to "I love a woman and I'll give everything up for her". That was fun. The second leads, for once, where more interesting than the first leads. I also liked the chaebol family spirit. For once they stick together instead of fighting with each other.
I hope the autumn will bring some exciting new romance drama and hopefully some novelty.

Should have stopped at 17 but...
I rewatched this drama recently as I was drama-less lately. Food+idol drama is for me the perfect match indeed. I like also Taiwanese drama as they are less cheesy than the Korean ones. The chemistry between the first leads is evident and I really loved to watch them bickering and falling in love at the same time. The heroine is witty, strong and opinionated which is a nice change. Huo Tingen respects her and also falls in love with her because of that. They really are perfect partners.I second the bromance as well which is really fun and looks quite organic as well.
Now the show indeed drags up after the 17th episode but hey, watching these two interacting is still worth it. There is no story anymore but who cares! I was in for the love...

So. Much. Fun
I have to admit I was a bit lost at the beginning. I started watching thinking it was going to be a crime series and after the first episode I was completely lost and about to drop the whole thing. But as often, I keep watching just in case it picks up. And then the whole comedy aspect hit me and I started to laugh. Hard. I love the whole thing. The lead team with both lead actors is top notch. They are a real power couple. They don’t do too much or too little and their comedy timing is impeccable. Vincenzo’s base story is just an alibi for the whole series and I think I’ve got a few ideas on how this whole thing is going To wrap. Now, the villain. I remember watching Taec yon as a cute ghostbuster all sweet and things but seeing him as a villain filled me with joy. You can clearly see he’s enjoying the whole experience.
The rest of the cast can’t be left aside as they are, I think for the first time in a long time, quite an important part of the story. I usually skip and get bored by sub plots but here it all makes sense and I’m having a lot of fun.
Each episode brings laughter and derision. So have a go. You’ll tell me “grazie” later

Lost
I wanted to like this series. I loved the lead actress in business proposal. She’s perky and always portrays positivity. But the story is, I’m afraid, going nowhere. The characters arks are not developed enough. We still don’t know anything about the ML and we are already mid way through. He’s indecisive about his life and about what to do. Big deal… I think he could have been a little bit stronger. Not too strong as to geopardise the gender swap comedy scenes which I particularly enjoy. I find him flat without any real personality. The supporting cast is so so as well apart from the annoying coworker who really is doing a great job at getting on my nerves. Even On Ma Eum’s boss is too flat a character.
It could have been a bit more powerful I think.
The webtoon industry is depicted as ruthless and that’s what I found interesting.
I’ll continue to watch but without much conviction …

Why !?
This is such a bad show. Too much of everything. The story is non existent, the lead actress is so clueless I wanted to shake her and the ever overbearing CEO yet again trying to sound sexy but is overwhelmingly sexist and not romantic. don’t waste your time on this one...I don’t understand why women are being portrayed like this. Is it because it’s taken from a web toon and therefore a fantasy ? I thought a lot of webtoon authors are women. How can they lower themselves like this? Ugh ...

I had to…
Because it’s LMH a d because everybody’s talking about it. I saw the Chinese version before “meteor garden” and wanted to see the original. But I was sadly disappointed. The drama is old, full of cliches and badly produced. You can even see the crew sometimes when reflected in glasses or mirrors. I know it was one of the first dramas for “our” Lee Min Ho but this hairdo!! So tacky … and the second lead syndrome is the worst ever! He’s following Jan Di like a sad puppy without even taking any action. Sooooo frustrating.
I’ve got to give something positive though: it is a reference in kdrama because of the story, those famous cliches and the tension between the characters. It’s a good base for a kdrama beginner but I’ve been watching drama for quite a while now and I found this one too much…
Watch it for reference.

One of the stupidest
My God it's bad.My God it's stupid.
Everything is cliche, completely pre visible and the story is a bore.
I wanted to watch this because of the ML but it was too painful to watch.
Don't waste you're time on it.
I really, really didn't like it and I've seen loads of drama with that kind of scenario
I think the worst is the FL. She's so cringy and such a low standard for feminine role model. That is what hurst the most I think. I know it is a trope in dramaland but this is too much.

That was cute and fun
I had a lot of fun watching this drama.I loved the comic duo represented by the parents (sorry I am super bad with names). Both actors were really good in their previous drama, i.e Crash Landing on You and Dinner Mate.
The 3 leads were really good as well and I am having a lot of fun watching them.
Show stealer is the sister who's flipping the gender role like a queen when she's pursuing Mr. Han.
The whole cast seems to have had a lof of fun doing that and it shows.
School drama shows can be really corny but this one was filled with humour.
Massive Second lead syndrome as well! Poor Hwang In Yeop! I hope he will get a drama when he eventually gets the girl.
Casting Cha Eun Woo was a great choice as well. Sadly we don't hear him sing in the show (maybe on the OST?).
So overall, a good and fun drama to watch (and rewatch!)
