Can't Everyone Grow A Little Bit More?

Review with slight SPOILERS.



Alright there was a lot of conflict in this episode. Resurrected grandpa wants to kill Xing'Er because she will lead ice man to his demise. I mean nice blue man didn't want to go to little princess to make her feel better. Yet he did because he thinks of her as his sister and she just rekindles her affection. Infuriating. We see more backstory between mysterious princess and she talks of Yu Wen Yue's resurrected grandpa ruining his future for maid.



Okay so psycho grandpa totally played a huge role in making psycho who he is. I feel a little bit sad for him. Just a small bit.



Lots of interactions and basic repetitions of blue man not being able to say no to little princess...



The OST as always is so on point at giving us cues. I find they select their music very well.



Yet again more information on the agent organizations. Much needed due to all the confusion. We also get to see Xing'Er hear about herself. (Yes I'm saying she's the lost daughter. Very educated guess, unless she has a twin)



It was a very good episode not one of the best but it kept the story moving forward.

Tinges Of Romance Come Hither

Welcome to my continuing recaps. Hope this helps you make the decision to dive in head first, mind open.



Spoilers ahead. Warning shots!



Okay this is totally why I didn't put Zanilia's name into memory. She has 3 names happening. Confusing as I go through these episodes I'll probably stick with the one I click best with... For now Zanilia.



Lol the night has her saying it hurts once then CGI bird repeating it all night and then ice man says enough and the bird again repeats that. So back and forth haha so funny. We're getting slight romantic aspects popping up which is a slightly nice segue from pure murder/intrigue/politics to this.



Ice man is now at the stage of showing her martial arts. Its not exactly how I figured it would happen but I like how it is being shown. Immediately afterwards she gets a chance to put them into action. Its super classy. The action sequences are so detailed but not completely over the top. At least not yet..



Nice blue man = Yan Xun Yan Xun is now fending off even more advances from clingy high pitched voice princess. He makes an of comment about the wild kitten AKA Zanilia. So his affections seem to be growing.. Iceman = Yu Wen Yue for me right now.



Anyways Zanilia meets Yan Xun at the river while cleaning their bedding and pays him hardly any attention. Maybe its at the want what you can't have stage. He seems very forward yet really not upfront about his intention in front of others. She doesn't seem to put much weight in his words..

Oh man he says he wants her to Yu Wen Yue!!!! His eyes flicker when he hears it and says its too late.



Theres more to that one but moving on. Theres a straight up fight scene between the lady maids. ITS SO GOOD! I appreciated it so much.

Yu Wen Yue comes in at the moment that jealous maid starts using trick needles. He blocks them then slaps Zanilia. Says hes taking her for punishment.



The punishment is full on martial arts training with dull headed arrows being sent at her at random intervals. Testing her endurance, skill, agility, and observation skills. Its totally honing her inherent prowess.



I am more invested and am looking forward to the episodes to come.

One Could Say Anticlimactic

Directly following the amazing that was the first episode... it feels a slight bit lacking.



I don't think I can do a lot of recap on this because it wouldn't be as exciting as when I like the episode. I'll talk about key moments that made it okay for me.

Still slight SPOILERS.



A few more characters have been introduced in semi okay formats? Then written out pretty quick...



There was a successful assassination and if one is counting seriously around 4 attempts and another successful dealing of avenging (One was a scapegoat that got killed by our silent ice man. Ice man is Zanilia's initial from the wolf/maid hunt of the first episode...



As I'm writing this I'm listening to the OP to feel okay about this episode.



She's still badass and uses her skills a few times this episode but in a much smaller capacity. Iceman saves her from her punishment for her second bout of awesome. Also the nice blue man who has stated in the first episode that he wanted this maid helped her use skills to avoid getting killed as punishment. It was a unique game where she had to use her abilities in order to survive using the 5 second clue she gave her. (In a not obvious way so that everyone else didn't know he helped her)



There isn't any romantic aspects for our main people yet except for obvious attention from a fluttery high pitched princess aiming for the nice blue man.

I hate having to write out their names at this point. I haven't seen enough to log in each of their names.

I'm taking this episode as pure plot movement... Like one needs this in order to get why Zanilia does not fully like ice man at the beginning or why she starts to feel kinship with nice blue man. (note from what I've read in summary nice blue man doesn't stay that way.... but I'M STILL THINKING INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN JERK)

Onto the next episode :D I've got higher hopes episode 3.

THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT I WANTED

Okay this episode was fantastic! It had so much demonstrated to us within the full episode. Not to mention that Gong Yoo makes a cameo! It had so much demonstrated to us within the full episode. Not to mention that gongu makes a cameo! I love everything from the plot, to the character development, to the perfect use of music from scene to scene. I was excited for this drama because it reminded me of liar game as well as Alice in borderland. I love the use of childrens games with a slightly nefarious end result. The cast is also so good! Can't wait to see more developments. The drama is going exactly how I hope it will and I love the visuals! Getting Back To The Beginnings Awesome Roots

Very well paced episode.

SPOILERS AHEAD. Review but more so recap.
You've been warned.

We start out with fire just running rampantly. Then cut to Xing'Er and Yu Wen Yue AKA Iceman sleeping in the catacombs underneath the store. Iceman is terribly sick with his chilling cold and makes Xing'Er very worried.

Obviously Liang princess is trying to form a new alliance with of course Psycho. Sigh.

Xing'Er is taking care of Iceman who is basically KO'ed. Then a delightful chat about lack of trust happens between Xing'Er and the shopkeeper.

Liang princess + her female attendant go through the tunnels that Psycho had told them to use. She got a weird feeling, and went back.

Back to the catacombs. Shopkeeper notices Xing'Er's family heirloom, and try's to acquire it during a barter for his wares. Xing'Er did not play ball. Instead she turned the tails of information query on him, and he gave her more than he planned. She did however inform him that she has amnesia. Well who would have thought our wonderful random shopkeeper also has talent in the ways of hypnosis and regaining forgotten memories.

High pitched princess has yet again commandeered Yan Xun AKA Nice blue man. Drinking and having a fun time. Of course she takes it farther, and tries to keep nice blue man in her home country. STILL not realizing its unsafe for him to stay there.

He plays drunk as to change the subject. Only to be interrupted, and lectured by the consort of the emperor.
I feel like I'll be seeing her more often, so I'll try and come up with a distinctive name to call her. Consort Gold for now. Her ornaments are always as such.

Xing'Er asks for a map of psycho grandpa's place, and he said he has it. He would give it to her in return for her undergoing his treatment to recover all the memories she has lost. When Xing'Er is undergoing the hypnotizing of the shopkeeper; we can truly see her regaining some memories. We as viewers are actually fully getting the picture of her mom. The flashbacks put together well to give us some answers and introduce more structure into her past.

Oh my happiness. The action sequences are fantastically done in this episode. Right when we are getting to the best part of the flashbacks BAM they get stopped by a sword. Iceman has awoken to put an end to the treatment. The shopkeeper was pushing her really hard... so it makes sense. Xing'Er and Iceman are now double teaming the shopkeeper in order to set themselves free.

Just saying.. of course, they overcome one obstacle have less than a minute of peace than are attacked by a large group of warriors. Its Liang princess's male aid AKA beautiful lord who is leading the attack. The two are now fighting side by side, moving as one with great teamwork + chemistry.

This episode was very good. Not too much of the politics that has been filling the previous episodes.
Yet it showcased them growing even closer as partners. I look forward to even more.

Oh My Great Goodness

Oh my great goodness.

Spoilers ahead :D

This episode hit so many points home for me. Showing the inner workings of the relationships instead of just the depth of the friendships.
Second male lead is so my style that I was taking screenshots every few minutes. The acting is excellent. Now don't get me wrong I do love our male lead and the first couple relationship. Slowly it seems that she is growing in the cracks of his stoic view on life. Yet she doesn't feel its enough, but she's still also okay with it.

We are getting hints that beautiful Bok Nam may be slightly evil.. I'm hoping its a misunderstanding as I liked the true aspect of how close he is to a true competitor for our female lead's love.

Based on the show up to episode 5 I thought we would have the three main couples + a focus on keeping the "contract marriage" hidden as a real marriage. Then in episode 6 beautiful Bok Nam APPEARED. I was like oh no.. BUT SO MUCH YES.
But again this fact would mean that aside from his straight forward blunt attitude saying "I don't want anything but my house and cat" there would ALSO be a second female lead there to push our characters on. I know our female lead is already basically human when it comes to interactions with other people. It could be possible that only our male lead needs the push to realize his feelings.

I truly think this drama isn't losing any speed or focus on the story. Everyone is staying true to themselves, to their characters. This is one of the best dramas I've seen since I went on a Korean drama hiatus.

Hit this drama up.

Such Frustration!

Spoilers!!!!!



Basic recap with points of characters + opinions past and future.



This drama overall I find entertaining just certain things make me dread their screen time at moments lol.



This episode is full of recap like the last one just from our OCD rabbit fellow this time.



Our main couple is at the stage of maybe half realizing their feelings? He isn't as ocd as he used to be (at least in my mind).. It's like she's been conditioning him, which I find to be a good measure of his feelings for her. They're cute which would be enough to give this episode a 8/10 if not for all of the aspects below.

Here we go... In a 3 point medley:



The brother 2ML IS SO BOTHERSOME! He's like a stalker on crack! She isn't fully hating him because at one point their relationship was very important to her. She got the friendship back but doesn't want his unending devotion in his misguided love. He's a child with no sense of the fact that she genuinely doesn't like him. At the beginning when he thought she didn't like him *basic truth* he went all antagonist on her. He even slapped her. Man I get that he felt hurt but it poisoned the well. Now he just upsets me constantly calling for MICHAEL aka ocd rabbit fellow. Wow how I've wanted to rant on him. He's not getting any better there was a time when his character was developing then that got chopped down.



Our lovely lying fox has a *B* of a step sister. She has been making me rage like a storm on the inside. How can she be so selfish that she doesn't realize tha LLF hasn't done anything to warrant your misguided hatred. I mean sure... she "took'' your love, but they were mutual love and you were one-sided affection. That instead of voicing out THIS AFFECTION to brother 2ML you chose to glare and in turn ruin her relationship by going to the grandmother WHO at this point I truly hope gets no redemption. But *B* of a stepsister at this point although I hate a lot about you if you can grab and keep brother 2ML I wouldn't completely be against your redemption. You could just need one thing of your own in order to be less terrible and nasty. IF that happens I could deal with it.



Lastly our ocd bunny fellows secretary Gao has a new girlfriend who I do like... just don't like that she's a huge liar. Basically she stalked him to find information and is genuinely into him. Just won't tell him that she has money and is constantly lying to him. Like in this episode she acted mad and waited for him to say he'll buy her meal for her. Then she orders so much food as to gauge him. Turns out she had planned to pay off over 80% of the meal total, and get the server to lie about a promotion. She stresses me out, I can only see this turning into a problem later on.

Much Deception Is Interwoven Here

Alright more political aspects this episode. Be prepared to either be bored or extremely engaged. Depends on the viewer.



Spoiler Notice -- This a basic recap/ review.



High pitched princess decides to take it upon herself to make poor Yan Xun have to stay in their country for even longer then planned. She just wants him at her ceremony and doesn't understand the ramifications.



Nice blue man is confiding in his mother and the little princess decides to take it upon herself yet again to eavesdrop and for certain miss the important part of him only thinking of her as a little sister. Yet somehow tuning in perfectly to hear that he likes someone but also denying that he likes someone. She thinks of course that its about herself. Fantastic misunderstanding.



More exciting training. With slide aspects of care coming off of ice man.



Nice blue man is fully jonesing for Xing Er... I don't know if he knows its affection or pure interest.



The day of the grand party has little princess upset because her favorite man Yan Xun isn't there. She's so unhappy about it. Such lack of elegance in the situation. Psycho makes a play for her, shut down. Little princess shows affections for her brother happy prince. More so pays attention to him in a nice sibling way, because normally she's always poking fun at him. She tries to cause a rift between the handsome 5 men of their country.



Back to main house we see ice man and Zanilia walking out and meeting our regular nice blue man. Who has obviously been waiting to make yet another play for his resident "wild kitten" AKA Xing Er. She shuts him down so hard but classily.



Here is little princess getting angry at once nice blue man comes into the party. He's disregarding her for Zanilia. She makes the performance stop, thus causing the assassins including our mysterious princess to have to intervene to keep the performance going. Xing Er follows her after smelling the unique familiar scent of that woman from the lantern festival. The mysterious princess is now donned in black clothing heads over to the main house of Ice man and Zanilia.



She fully breaks into Zanilia and ice man's training area. Actually she goes past that area opening up the under paths to Zanilia. More fighting scenes. Ice man comes just in time to make the lady run. He then asked Xing Er if he would have to kill her. She became a spy for the eyes of god. The ongoing trope...



We will hopefully get some closure or some answers on that subject.

Jealousy Plus Information Downloading

This recap/review is pretty detailed because of all the information going on this episode.



Spoilers are not just visiting in this one, they're settling in.



The beginning seeds of deception to the emperor... set by psycho. He's aiming all this bad blood and clouded nice blue guys family and he himself as traitors. I sense the beginnings of nice blue guy turning terrible.



There's a more intense training with real arrows this time around. Then transition to archery practice. Shes so good. Anyways happy prince comes and whisks her away with a solid excuse. Nice blue guy yet again asks Yu Wen Yue to give him Xing Er in exchange for money or other fine objects.

Ice man says no.



Nice blue man says he already got happy prince to take her away. Ice man is almost livid. Psychos Zhu right hand takes Xing Er to the prison yet again. Nice blue rushes off to rescue her again. Xing Er uses her words to yet again swindle psycho, very skillfully may I add.



Back to the story Zanilia is walking off pretty quick without giving thanks to nice blue man. Nice blue man is starting to get saucy about this. Happy prince sees them and gets right in the way. NICE JOB happy prince. Anyways these two men butt heads with words over Xing Er.



Xing Er is almost everybody's object of affection... Just why can't ice man be a little more forward. I mean I'm pretty certain that she knows his sincerity the most.



Assassination attempt number I haven't and will not keep track. She starts fending off the professional assassins sent by Psycho. She does really well by going 1 vs almost 10? Anyways she worked very hard and for the most part the gift Yu Wen Yue gave her is proving extremely useful.

Oh man ice man I see you. Sliding into the scene on a contraption that is yet again

no way possible in this time frame. Like a flying squirrel, just out of place. He saves her with one of his ice type arrows. She knows it was him and even sees him fly off...



Back to their mansion she sees him. His usual attire is usually white right now hes in clad black.

She asks ice man if he knew who the assassins were from that last attempt on her life and he

makes her walk away.



Psycho and his Zhu right hand are having a slight mental break down... OH NO not psycho grandpa.

He makes it not right. He meets the man who aid of the mysterious princess in his unhappy bathhouse.

He starts to reveal who the mysterious man is with his knowledge. So more backstory for us. The aid

is now the lord of secrets and or beautiful lord.



Beautiful lord is hinting that psycho grandpa had something to do with ice mans mother... Betray for your secret to remain secret kind of conversation. Hold a grand party beautiful lord says to him.

Why? We'll find out.



Ice man was taking glances at Xing Er, then catches her doing something to his bed. Then yet another impromptu fight training scene with gorgeous filming. It's like their dancing.

Ending with ice man dropping certain liquids or drops into each of her eyes.



Good pacing this episode. Very informative, and answered a lot of the long waiting questions that have been growing.

Some Aspects Answered While More Appear...

Good pacing, conversation and conflicts. Also the added benefit of closing a few mysteries.



SPOILER THROWING ALERT



Okay so ice man is hurt and is testing her. Zanilia is trying to put his suspicions at bay which he is not fully excepting of.



He informs her that her plan to kill psycho isn't smart enough. He starts explaining why it wouldn't work.



Now they are having a nice heart to heart talk about her revenge and how she knows he's training her for some reason. She is appealing to his emotions and even began crying in front of him. Just a little surprising. Is this true loyalty on her part or just an act? He wiped her tears.

This episode is truly showing his affections growing for Xing Er.



So the unraveling of the shrouded accidental killing of Ms. Song is revealed. Turns out there were other bodies but her dead body had been removed. Her sisters say it had to be Yu Wen Yue and that he likes Xing Er...

Then when she finds out it truly was ice man when she receives a box with the bracelet from that night she goes to thank him.



Ice man says right hand man was in the river all of that night. Then she says she must say

thank you to right hand man. He seems jealous. Anyways this leads to more banter.

I appreciate the banter so much.



I liked this episode quite a bit, I just felt it was a little slow in progression. Aside from that

the story and the solving of some issues was very well done.
