Kim In Sung made his star debut

It managed to be entertaining and above-average, simply because of Kim In Sung who is worthy to be the main character. Without any source of background information, this boy debuted with such a remarkable portrayal of his role. I watched this because of Zuho from SF9 but he literally stole my focus solely to him. Kim In Sung blows me away with his ethereal beauty and most especially how he uses incredible facial expressions to deliver the right emotions needed in his scenes.

Seo Han Joon is a lovable man but too attached to his first love. He doesn’t deserve to be treated so badly by Jo Yoo Jae after his confession. I somehow wanted Han Joon to be paired with his boxing club member. Yoo Jae acts too immature for his age. Nevertheless, as long as my boy Seo Han Joon is happy, I am happy too.

The story is not as good as I anticipated but it is not particularly bad at all. There’s one character in this story who is absolutely annoying -the one with the bandana who acts too childish that doesn’t fit his looks.

The last episode is too random. Kim In Sung chooses his boyfriend over his ill mother who is lying in front of him just because Jo Yoo Jae may leave him again. I hate it. This is what happened when one is giving too much love to the other pair. Can’t he understand that there’s an emergency situation going on with Han Joon? Hmmm… Another thing is that even in the finale, the drama failed to give us a kissing scene! Oh please. They ruin the romantic scene of the couple playing on the swing and watching the night stars over their heads.

Once again, the best thing that happened in this BL is the introduction of Kim In Sung who made his impact on the industry. I hope I can see more of him in plenty of projects. I became a fan!

Turning low budget into good-quality production

For a short BL drama in the late 2010s, this is absolutely a good one with a nice portrayal of gay individuals who happened to be part of an infamous gang. The main characters have strong chemistry and their acting is top-notch. Despite having been easily detected that the production has a low budget, they made every part of it to be worth it and presented such a good quality of storytelling.

I thought that the ending may give us a tragedy but I am happy that they can survive ad start a new life outside the brutal world of gangs. Yet, I feel like it is more of an open-ending one since I can visualize that the gang may take their revenge on the couple. Anyways, this is good for a short K-BL; not too strong but not too bad as well, just average.

Hate It

What the heck is this? Too bland, too boring, and too narcissistic. The only good thing about this show is the guy in the pilot episode who was rejected by the main character during their meet-up date. He is so handsome to the point that I wished that he was the main cast here.

The script is too shallow that I don’t even get entertained by any single scene presented in the show. It was cliche and overly romanticized. The bad thing is even the main characters can save their own show. They are lacking in terms of chemistry and those kisses aren’t enough to change how I feel about their love pair.

The team leader is annoying; he was hurt in his previous relationship yet still chooses to go around and have some casual fun with people who are looking for a serious relationship. The other guy is kinda annoying as well. He is too clingy that even went overboard and crossed the boundaries as colleagues by touching his boss without any form of consent. That’s it! I am too devastated with this BL hahaha

The concept of time, has been overly used

Pairing Shin Min Ah and Lee Je Hoon is such an amazing on-screen couple to watch with. They are two of the finest actors in the industry and they did well portraying the right emotions of each of their characters which are perfect for being the main leads of the show.

The thing is, I am not a big fan of time travel, and maybe the main reason why I felt bored watching the whole show. Yet, there are other dramas with similar concepts that hooked me. So I guess, it all ups for the flow of storyline to spice things up. Which, Tomorrow with You failed to accomplish.

They have their flaws that are too obvious to just let them pass by. And the ending, it is too bland for an end.

Sex education but make it asian

Western-like setup that discussed a variety of sexual issues in a conservative country. Yet, being conservative is a good thing too but there are tendencies that these people seem to degrade others just because of how showy they are about themselves. And this drama brought these issues to life. I like almost everything except for the time-machine concept as I am not a big fan of this kind of genre.

I guess everyone will agree with me that Fluke Pusit delivers his role in the most perfect way. Army and Jo is my favorite couple with such an interesting storyline and overflowing chemistry. They are the ones who brought me to start watching this show after seeing their locker room clip of eating each other. GMMTV, give these two their own BL show.

The OST also ate! Fluke Gawin’s Sweet but Naughty is such a perfect song for the drama. The English lyrics are too cool as well as the melody and rhythm that it has. Been LSS every time I watched each episode.

There’s nothing more to say than the fact that I actually enjoyed completing the show. It is not that very impactful but enough to say that they nailed the performances and elements that the viewers are expecting from them. It’s time for everyone who takes a serious note of how important sex education is, which was the whole message of The Warp Effect.

A deep and intriguing tale of common strangers to lovers

Not your typical school set-up Korean BL. I was astonished by the dramatic vibes and gloomy feelings presented in the show. Im Ji Sub is the man! He was the reason why I decided to watch this show as he already managed to catch my attention during his minimum screen time in the Love Revolution web series. He is spicy and hot with such splendid visuals; it’s hard not to fall in love with him. It’s a good thing that he knows how to act genuinely.

The thing I most liked about Jae Won is that he never let Ji Hyun be out of place when the freshman boy joined their surfing club. Yet, to be honest, I didn’t like how Jae Won came back to his ex-girlfriend after an incident happened when he was traveling with Ji Hyun. But to understand, it was all about Jae Won’s traumatic history that lead him to create a distance between Ji Hyun. Although the last few episodes are too shaggy for them to reconcile, it still feels good to see them both back on being lovey-dovey.

Intimate scenes are the best element in the drama. The outdoor beach night getaway and the sequence of romantic connection giving their all best to kiss and touch each other was wholesome. They win me every single kiss except for Jae Won being kissed by his slutty ex-girlfriend.

Supporting characters are fine as well. The bar boss who stands as Ji Hyun’s temporary mother in Seoul has such a warm and direct personality that will always be ready to stand up for you. Ae Ri is your supportive best friend despite being a bad influence, you can still feel that you’re grateful for being beside you. The same with Ji Hyun’s best friend, Joon Pyo. I condemn how Jae Won still choose to be friend with Tae Hyun who is a walking red flag since episode 1.

I enjoyed the complete episodes but there is still something lacking in terms of excitement and overall impact that made me rate this drama with an average score only. Yes, it was a good show but not the best drama that I’ve seen this year.

It’s all about the alcohol and not the romance

The simplicity taken in this show has come to the point that it tasted bland. The potential is misused as the drama solely focuses on the algid bloom of romance that takes too long to execute. It takes more than half of the show to let the viewers know exactly why the lead actor hated liquor that much and his reason for not appearing in any television guestings. This is not a good way of letting the audience feel the sensation of every scene from each episode before the ending.

Despite the captivating visuals of the main couple, I think that they need more acting experience to carry out their roles perfectly. I got the feeling that it affects the affection needed from both of their characters. The kissing clips are not that passionate. I want to see more fiery and exciting performances from them since I was astonished by their good looks and physique.

Regardless of the cons of the show, it is safe to say that it is not that worse compare to some K-BLs out there. I somehow enjoyed it without any doubt. I just hope that the production and the actors themselves can see where the show lacks the most and try to improve it for their next individual projects. All the Liquors is a show about characters that can and can’t live without drinking alcohol but takes us into viewing their significant stories that revolve around romance and life in general.

Love-Game concept wins, simultaneously playful and delightful

It was one of those short yet enjoyable K-BLs who did a great job of establishing a savory story using appealing visuals and charming chemistry. The beginning isn’t as cliche in contrast to the norms of using high school memories as the roots of romance. Yet, the show began with the same kind of setup but exceptional since they directly told us the feeling that the main characters had just right at the start.

Those seven years of losing each other are indeed painful. In Shin Ki Tae's shoes, I can feel how upsetting it is to lose Lee Wan without confirming their mutual feelings. Lee Wan also suffers and misses Ki Tae after running away. He slowly moves on not until the man shows himself again after all those years.

The reconnection after seeing each other again and being oblivious at work has gratifying progress in the story. Their acting was genuine along those kissing scenes that were truly sensational. The actor starts to release their characters’ excitement of being in love in terms of a smooch.

I would also like to cheer for the connectivity of the plot to the timespan of seven years. Ki Tae has anxiety that Wan may disappear again from his life without any trace left. It is a reasonable emotion since it is hard for someone you like to vanish eventually. The birthday present Wan prepares for Ki Tae was so damn cute. Drawing all those memories he failed to share with him during the separation is priceless.

Sticking to the whole game-and-love concept is the best asset of the show. Those special epilogues on each episode are just as beautiful as the overall impact of the drama. Incorporating gaming designs as their visual attacks are commendable.

Our Dating Sim is the kind of feel-good BL that tops the list of similar genres by showcasing a clean narrative of the script as well as presenting catchy visuals.

Average historical show with an alluring performance from the cast

It’s always been politics, the throne, and love stories when it comes to Korean historical drama. Despite the norms that the show presented, it isn’t much of a cliche since they manage to pull an attentive storyline that triggers the interest of the audience.

The best element of this drama is the portrayal of all the characters, immersing their great acting skills. From the main characters to the supporting ones, everyone is firm with the emotions that their characters need to build from time to time.

D.O. is such a cute and handsome man. With his expressive facial gestures and engaging way of delivering his lines, he surely deserves to hold the title of one of the best idol-turned-actors in the industry. Also, Nam Ji Hyun once again nailed her role. No doubt, she and the rest of the cast performed an excellent presence in the story.

The plots are predictable but still satisfying to watch. The comedy here was good too, the same with the heartbreaking scenes. The ending isn’t that extravagant compared to other historical shows. But I guess this is their charm here, making it as simple as it is. Overall, this show is a light and feel-good drama to consume.

Impactfully Acclaiming

Some things never changed, and that’s the painful part of life. Time traveling is an overused foundation, but they make good use of this cliche and establish a short yet impactful storyline. Despite the loopholes and some questionable parts, the conclusion dominated its cons.

The title itself is already conspicuous, relating to experiencing another ache. I cried. Those written messages burst me out.

“Jae Woo, I know you came here after 15 years to save me. But even so, I will still go save you.” - Kang Ji Hoon

The success is also all thanks to their impressive acting performances. As early as the pilot episode, I was too amazed by Shin Jae Woo. You can sense how desperate he is from changing the past. His howls did affect me emotionally. The two main actors portrayed their characters in the most anguished way. From feeling passionate about giving a try to save each other to eventually becoming hopeless and just accepting the consequences as long one of them will continue to go on with life.

I must say, Korean entertainment provides eye-catching actors with their head-turner visuals. Ji Hoon resembles Baekhyun from EXO and Tomo from Thailand. He is extremely cute and fluffy.

They also gave us top-tier songs from their OSTs. I genuinely go through the roller coaster rides of affection and attachment every time they insert the songs into a scene. I indulge in listening to them, I love it!

Once Again is a show that throws you a punch that even with its fairytale plot, we all return from the reality of accepting the suffering of life. There may be things that we cannot control, but as long as we value our life, we can always find the happiness that we keep relying on, for our day-to-day survival.

Perfect portrayal of characters made possible with their top-tier acting skills

The title itself fits the whole story; the warmth of a hug that can soothe one’s uneasy feelings. The show established a great flow of storyline that is unique and well-written. Every episode manages to get my attention throughout without getting any hint of tiredness or boringness. Especially since it will give you an absolute vibe of creepiness. That irksome aura can be seen overflowing in the psychopath’s devilish stares and smiles.

The best element of this drama is the way that the actors offer excellence in handling their roles perfectly. Each one of them contributes more than enough and carries on filling their part to the fullest. From the main characters up to the supporting roles, super deserves to get praise from the audience.

My favorite episode will be from EP17. The face-off fight between the two brothers was dramatically intense. Loving the fact that Do Jin, his mother, and his younger sister never gave up to save their older brother. Since they all knew that he was badly influenced by their ill father. That scene when Do Jin was accidentally stabbed by Hyun Moo’s knife and the way he hugged his brother was such an impactful tension of feelings.

I may be late finishing this fantastic show, but the important part is I enjoyed every element it has to present to us. The series deserves more recognition. The actors are incredible, have a fine foundation of conflicts, have consistency in providing interesting plots, and connect every single detail of the script to the actual happenings in the story. The ending hugs they both gave to their little selves are wholesome, a happy ending indeed.

Park & Lee should be the main couple

Inconsistent yet good enough to consume in your spare time. It’s a good decision for the production company to change the set-up they provide from the trailer to improving it on the show itself. It became better but still has loopholes and dull moments that were honestly unsatisfactory. The plot started from the typical enemy-to-lovers sequel with the annoying campus heartthrob setting, along with the unlikeable abuse of power by the school teacher/shipper. The transition from school to entering adulthood in a professional field was too sudden yet it somehow provided something new and made a huge adjustment from the never-ending cliche from the college-based scenes.

Gratefully, the characters managed to offer an impact and entertainment. Kim and Mek are just so-so. They can be cute sometimes but from time to time, their story is bland. After they stopped making BL contents, the vibes turned to be more natural and holistic. In the Bomb and Bear case, it feels extra-delightful before both of them enter into a romantic relationship. Bomb has the fluffiest scenes with his one-sided crush and Bear’s comedic charm was loveable. The screen time of Tim and Mai is skippable since it was dry and uninteresting. The sister and brother bonding is deserving of two thumbs-up. A healthy sibling relationship. Both families are composed of open-minded parents who are proud that they’re sons choose to hold onto their happiness.

Park and Lee are worthy to be the main couple. The title itself fits their 7 years of a relationship without their friends knowing about it, the real 'secret love. 'They are the cutest in the show! That particular comfort room scene where they exchange uniforms lights up my attention and the beginning of centralizing my focus on them. Their first meeting was flawlessly adorable. They stole my heart more than any pair from the show. They were immersing, charming, and heart-fluttering. A boyfriend that executes great chemistry and abundant rays of sunshine. I am so happy that they got married in the end.

The 12 episodes have a mixture of good and bad elements that resulted in neutrality or average overall rating from the show. It isn’t particularly hateable but isn’t also specifically memorable.

Unbearable topics of cheating and toxicity but the pair of incredible actors saves it

As someone who watched the three sequels of EN of Love, the parts of Vee & Mark were the best for me. I felt good when the production company announced that the mini-show will be having a full series adaptation. And here I am, who finally completed watching the story that introduces me to my beloved BL pair, YinWar!

The sole reason why I kept watching this drama during its airing time was the solid acting performance of the two main characters and their undying chemistry along with the eye-candy visuals. However, it’s hard to fully enjoy the show since it revolves around the topics of cheating and toxicity inside a relationship. There are times that I don’t feel pity for Vee’s miserable love conflicts since it was also the consequence of his actions. Both he and his girlfriend cheated but the worst thing is, they choose to cling to each other even after knowing everything. The reason that also leads me to be irritated with Mark's attitude. He keeps being in a painful situation yet still accepts Vee several times. Fortunately, the drama has a good way of treating its characters with pros and cons. The good side of this topic is that, in reality, there are people who are closely related to Mark & Vee who choose to stay in a toxic relationship.

The finale was the best out of the ten episodes. I like that they offer a new kind of scenario during the sudden meet-ups of the two families. No overwritten dramas and just pure acceptance knowing that their sons are happily in love. It was also nice for the show to explain that sometimes financial status lowers the confidence of someone who’s in love with someone who belongs to a richer community. Mark’s tsundere father was in such a mood. It is a comedic moment during the scene when he reacted angrily to his son’s social media update regarding the hands with a ring, but in reality, he was smiling. Also, the glimpse of Yoo’s flirtatious approach to Kamphan was too short. I want to see more of them. They can become a cute and fine couple starring in another story or even having their own screen time in a sequel if possible.

“Couldn’t change the past, but is going to make the present the best.” This was the ending statement of Love Mechanics along with the image of the couple’s pair of mugs. It talks about how they manage to overcome the past and being in focus on the present with overflowing romance and sincerity. A great way to conclude Vee and Mark’s love story.

Not your typical love story

Consume this show with enjoyment and emotional attack. From the start, they introduced empathy and sympathy for the victim’s families and survivors of a traumatic incident. They undoubtedly did a great job of portraying this kind of story flawlessly and with well-executed outputs. The field of work is a breath of fresh air from the usual professional jobs that main leads in K-Drama often perform their service to.

The best thing about this series is the on-point acting skills of the cast and their consistency in holding a firm grip on their characters’ personalities. Happy to witness a love triangle without making the second lead do something toxic. I like the closures of each one of them here. Everyone ended up with a new start and living their life with positive energy.

The main characters are worthy to be called the MC. Lee Kang Doo, portrayed by Lee Jun Ho, was a manly-ordinary worker who lived just to survive. The same with Ha Moon Soo, played by Won Jin Ha, who’s also trying to face the reality of the present with no other choice. Their love story was well carried out. Both have genuine and sincerity boosting around their presence. The conflict was resolved without any exaggerated scenarios.

Together with the rest of the supporting characters, this drama is surely one of the best dramas of 2017. My only regret is that I am this late watching this in 2022. Nevertheless, I am wishing the best of happiness to all of the people out there who are also experiencing emotional imprisonment towards themselves. Rain or Shine, we should keep surviving this uneasy life with a grateful heart towards ourselves and the people around us who help us to cope with this life. May the joyfulness keep on leading our lives to the fullest.

Unexpected sequel from the show that defines what decent rom-com story looks like

Grateful for the out of the blue sequel of one of the humorous mini-series I’ve ever watched. Huge fan of the prequel as it made me cry due to the extreme happiness I acquired from the show. However, the excitement I felt during the first season has a huge gap compared to this one. It is less fun in contrast to its previous show. Some scenes in this season are acted in an over dramatic way that is intended to be fun but turned out to be cringe occasionally. Yet, this is still a good quality of rom-com drama provided to every BL fans out there.

Glad to see the playful characters once again but more well pleased to be able to hear those bop music from the opening and ending song once more. They made a new concept to the MOB-song; styling them as 80's - 90’s anime characters that came into life is remarkably cool and authentic. Those silly steps and colorful vibes are sending me real entertainment. I wish they released the song on some streaming sites such as Spotify and YouTube. As usual, Bubble Love by Da-iCE manages to maintain its spot to my favorite Japanese soundtrack playlist.

I followed some of the actors on their Instagram account and Ito Asahi, the artist who played as Kikuchi, got my attention ever since the first season. His cute facial expressions with those bubbly eyes, pointed nose, and kissable lips is worthy to adore. He has a low tone of voice that matches his innocent looks. Aside from him, Toujou (Shiono Akihisa in real life) is the runner up from the rest of the cast that stood to me the most. On the other hand, the duality of Inukai Atsuhiro is something that I found amusing since he can play as the flamboyant Mob and as the fiery Shiro from his recent drama, Kei x Yaku: Dangerous Buddy. From the looks, personality, and character, they are like heaven and earth.

The idea of naming the school as BL University is a witty addition of spice for a story revolving inside the world of a BL manga. The improvement between Touji and Ayano’s romance was great. They’re like a perfect representation of a classic campus sweetheart couple but with a different approach since they established all of their clips from this season outside the school. The kiss suits the age of their characters since it was like a teenage pecking of lips but a part of me wishes that they should perform a more intimate kiss. Moreover, the most important thing is that they included a kissing scene from this season making it their second or third on-screen kiss in the show.

The episode in which a certain lovely girl suddenly switched into a flirty guy made me question if that person is a HE or SHE in real life. She looks like a girl but I’m in doubt since the story only casted male actors so far and the absence of women in the show is almost concluded.

Our MOB finally loosened and let himself carry the flow of the BL manga author that leads him to be the main character of his own. I like that even the ending clip admits that the kiss is such a cliffhanger and ends up in a sudden long distance relationship. I have a strong feeling that the third season is likely to happen since the main character mentioned it during the last scene. The production may be either on the way or already finished taping. Nevertheless, with or without a third season, A Man Who Defies the World of BL is a fine work of art in the field of short filmmaking for a mini-series category.
