Well that was a wild ride...

There wasn't much to the first episode, but we did get to see how crazy the female lead is! All of the characters are interesting so far so I'm excited to learn more about them. I've continuously heard good things about this drama so I can't wait to see where it goes!

A great beginning

I'm very pleased with the first episode of Hana Kimi. I haven't read the manga, but am quite familiar with gender-bender stories. Gender-bending is one of my favorite tropes, and Hana Kimi has handled it very tastefully thus far.

I've found that a common trait within Japanese (and sometimes other asian) dramas is overacting. This can add to the charm of a show, or completely destroy it. So far, I'm liking what I'm seeing in this first episode and Horikita Maki isn't overdoing it. As a matter of fact, she seems to be one of the more level headed cross-dressing characters I've come across. I'm excited to see what the rest of the series brings!

This was such a fitting ending! I loved how things stayed goofy and random all the way to the end! Very satisfying conclusion!

I love how this episode really focused on the parents. This is probably one of the first dramas I've watched where I don't hate any of the mothers. They all have character depth and we get to see why they do the things that they do. I really wasn't expecting that ending! How is this all going to end in the last episode?

Four Stars

I really liked getting to see Jang Mi and Gi Tae finally figuring out how to communicate and use their words. It's really fun seeing Jang Mi, Hyun Hee, and Yeo Reum be so successful with their restaurant! Also, seriously, how many times is Gi Tae's mom going to walk into his house without knocking and put them all in an awkward situation?

I loved seeing Jang Mi and Gi Tae trying to help each other without the other knowing. The last 15 minutes of this episode are what I've been waiting 12 episodes to see! It was nice to just have some pure cute moments without any major drama looming overhead.

This episode was crazy. It was chaotic, funny, sad, cute, etc. I loved the "crying" scene between Jang Mi and Hoon Dong. I felt for them, but it was also hilarious. I'm really happy for Hoon Dong and Hyun Hee. Hoon Dong is finally maturing (kind of) and their wedding was really cute! Since everything kind of fell apart in this episode, I'm glad that Se Ah and Jang Mi finally had a talk and came to an understanding. Meanwhile, Jang Mi and Gi Tae have FINALLY both fully admitted to their feelings. I'm excited to see what comes!

Well that was going really well until the end. There were so many great parts in this episode! I loved the fight with Gi Tae's mom and the other woman. Her character gained so much more depth! I also love how whenever Gi Tae visits Jang Mi's parents he ends up getting drunk with her dad. Those scenes are always hilarious. I really loved this episode. Though I'm quite frustrated with Se Ah. She just HAD to go ruin everything...

Five Stars

IT'S REAL NOW. IT'S TOTALLY REAL. I loved seeing the final stage of their fake relationship come to an end. Because now it can be totally real! I also really like Gi Tae's mother as a character. I don't always like the things she does, but I can understand where she's coming from and she has her reasons for doing all of the things she does.

This is probably my favorite episode yet! I love how the main cast went to the beach and dropped the drama for a while! I was so fun to just see them act so friendly and have a good time at the beach! Also, what the heck Hoon Dong, who wears sweatshirts when they go swimming? Anyway, I really liked seeing all of the characters interact with each other in such a friendly manner.

This episode made me feel really bad for Jang Mi! All she wants is a real relationship. Also Se Ah and Yeo Reum are kind of starting to get on my nerves. Se Ah, because of the typical 2nd female lead reasons and Yeo Reum because, even though he's not necessarily a bad person, he's a big reason as to why the leads haven't both realized that they're actually head over heals for each other.

This was such a fun episode! I think it's safe to say that at this point, Gong Gi Tae definitely cares. I really liked the montage scene where Gi Tae, Jang Mi and Yeo Reum were eating, talking, and having fun. It was just such a pleasure to watch! I'm excited to see what Gi Tae is going to do now that he's realized that he's fallen for Jang Mi.

This is the best episode yet! We got a lot more backstory and things are starting to fall into place! While Se Ah was definitely playing a typical 2nd female lead (with the blackmailing and all) I still found myself interested in the the past relationship she had with Gi Tae. Thankfully I have a feeling that KGi Tae definitely isn't going to pull a "typical male lead" and go between Se Ah and Jang Mi. He's definitely falling for Jang Mi... especially with that ending!

I don't know if I've ever been so stressed over such a funny problem in a drama. This episode had nonstop comedy, but also included little details that are contributing to development of the characters. I really enjoyed this one!
