Pour moi la meilleure version de HYD

J'en ai vu beaucoup : chinoises, japonaise, coréenne, adaptations,... Je craignais une version répétitive, juste actualisée de ce manga.
Mais j'ai été scotchée dès le 1er épisode !

PROS :
- Le rythme est rapide (tout tient en 16 épisodes).
- Le ton est assez sombre, parfois violent.
- Les personnages sont forts, actuels.
- Ce drama ne veut pas en faire trop. Il évite les failles de Meteor Garden 2018 avec des stories annexes ou des parties abracadabrantes (ile déserte, mariage surprise, etc.). L'ensemble reste relativement réaliste.
- Les OST sont excellentes.

FLAWS :
- Les costumes de Thyme, sans doute luxueux, sont de très mauvais goût. Quel designer/créateur l'a habillé pour ce drama ?
- Faire tenir une longue histoire en 16 épisodes, ne permet pas d'accorder beaucoup d'importance au background des personnages secondaires.

Une version actuelle, violente, dynamique de HYD, qui rafraichit agréablement l'histoire.

Excellent med-investigation drama in an unusual setting

Excellent medical / investigation drama, set in an unusual setting: that of a dilapidated hospital on Zal Island, with few resources, few staff and a poorly educated population to treat.

The plot follows a team of Chinese caregivers who come for 2 years to help local hospital staff.
The topics covered are of course classic in a med-drama (life, death, suffering, family/caregiver decisions, cost and financing of care, etc.) but also epidemics, viruses, drug research, clinical experimentation,...

The actors are excellent, all of them! The CL is very endearing (I have become a fan of TonyYang ❤❤❤, his casual, charming character,... is just too cute) and their interactions are too rare, because their chemistry makes you want to have more intimate moments together on screen.
But the secondary characters are well developed and skillfully played. The psychology of the characters is coherent, subtle. We are attached to this team of caregivers whose cohesion, support, friendship, are the pillars in the face of the disease.
There is no real evil character, perverse or Machiavellian, because even the "great villain" have credible motivations.

The production is neat, quite dynamic and the images are beautiful. They make you want to discover this isolated island.
Nothing special on the OST.

I highly recommend this drama, which I will probably rewatch.

A really nice drama, which highlights the strength of love, friendship, family, kindness

A really nice drama, which highlights the strength of love, friendship, family, kindness. The actors do a great job, create a real alchemy.

Finally a Chinese drama that shows a lot of real kisses, hugs, realistic behaviors within the lead couple!

The context is deeply rooted in Chinese culture (hard work, only child, respect for elders, place of women and strong discrimination between men and women, particularly in the professional but also personal context).

This story is positive, feel-good, without length, and all the women will be moved by the ML, handsome, tenacious, attentive and ready to do anything to protect his wifei.

Mon meilleur Cdrama de tous les temps

J'ai adoré ce drama, vu d'une seule traite et revu plusieurs fois. Les personnages (tous, y compris les 2aires) sont attachants et le CL trop mignon.
La FL est agaçante (trop) dans ses hésitations, dans sa soumission à sa mère, mais c'est peut-être un aspect culturel ?
Chacun s'émeut de voir le coeur de Loa Han (merveilleusement interprété par Li Xian, toujours génial) se réchauffer peu à peu, et le spectateur meurt d'envie de voir ce couple heureux, après avoir du surmonter tant de difficultés.

- Contexte intéressant et bien décrit,
- super acteurs (même les acteurs secondaires comme les "petits champions" auxquels on s'attache très vite). Je suppose que ce drama sera un excellent levier pour certains, vers des rôles principaux
- excellents OST (en particulier "Icould not leave, chanté par Dimash) mais tous les OST sont mémorables !

A voir (et revoir) absolument...

Pour ma part, je l'ai déjà visionné 4 fois :)

Excellent drama qui retrace le parcours d d'une classe d'université dans une section technologique, ce qui est rarement évoqué. Il traite aussi des discriminations fille-garçon dans les filières masculines. Les acteurs sont géniaux et donnent vie à cette histoire assez bien ficelée.

Plusieurs romances dans ce drama :
- le CL (fils riche et très smart + fille dégourdie avec traumas d'un chauffeur de taxi) est très mignon. Les malentendus ne durent pas trop longtemps malgré les 2 "great villains" (la belle-mère et la meilleure amie jalouse).
- Plusieurs romances secondaires attachantes, particulièrement le caïd et la fille-garçon manqué.

Il y a quelques longueurs par moments, mais aussi de l'humour, du rythme, des émotions,...

Les valeurs mises en avant sont toujours les mêmes dans les dramas chinois : persévérance, dur labeur, famille, sens filial, respect des aînés, volonté de réussir à tous prix, etc.

Bref, regardez-le, vous passerez un très agréable moment.

+++ Lady Wu and the ML seem to be the only ones with a brain :(

It's a comedy, OK. BUT :
### some characters are clearly caricatures (FL's father, ML2, etc.)
### FL's voice (high-pitched) particularly annoying and I also have trouble with her exaggerated facial expressions / pouts.
### FL's behavior in the last narrative arc (breakup if not reconciliation with the ML's father) is INCONSISTENT and TOXIC !! Her so-called logic ("we don't have the same values") no longer holds at this stage of the relationship, and what the FL is doing is called emotional blackmail. Lamentable ... Sa soi-disant logique et celle de de ses parents ("nous n'avons pas les mêmes valeurs") ne tient plus à cette étape de la relation, et ce que fait la FL s'appelle du chantage affectif. Lamentable ... Idem pour l'évitement dans le dernier épisode (☉_☉)

=> Comédie à regarder pour le fun et Sam Lin, uniquement.

Why make 28-30 year olds behave like teenagers?

Mini series about the reunion 10 years later, of 2 high school friends, the ML and the FL. The ML has always loved the FL, but she has an ex and her bestie had a crush for the ML since 11 years.

The pace is a bit slow (annoying) and the FL is blah (without real expression & I'm not talking about the fake kisses), but there's Chae Jong Hyeop!

I wish the FL was different ? but it was somewhere a good watch. There were some parts for me, that were boring (too many flashbacks). I'm really happy for the ML though, I hope he keeps leading great dramas, definitely a great actor.

A great vampire, a good start, but a very messy storyline

PLOT: meeting between a century-old "vampire" (the ML, who does not want to become bloodthirsty) and a young girl (the FL) who is blind and mistreated by her mother. The ML is pursued by a group of gangsters, subordinate to a military leader corrupt to the core, because, running a newspaper, he denounced their crimes. This soldier is supported by one of the 3 families having obtained superpowers, led by Mu Lihua (the Great Villain).

+++ Vengo is exceptional in this vampire role, which fits him perfectly. Even Ouyang Nana, who I don't like very much, plays a convincing blind FL.

+++ Stressful, dark, heavy atmosphere, accompanied by suitable OSTs.
+++ A big budget for the sets, even if the costumes sometimes seem anachronistic.

BUT :
### The storyline is incoherent, even for a fantasy drama (where do the ninjas with super powers come from? Why are the ML and his brother going to throw themselves into the wolf's den ? The brother, also a hundred years old, behaves like a teenager; The great villain wants to kill the protagonists, even when she gets what she wants, etc.). ### Pourquoi habiller la FL, jeune fille, comme si elle avait 12 ans ? Pour accentuer le age-gap avec le ML, faire passer leur relation pour père-fille ? Ridicule !
### La 2e partie devient pesante, avec ses inconsistances et ses retournements illogiques.

=> Bon cast, bon plot, gâché par une mauvaise écriture.

Very catchy series, thanks to the plot, well served by the charisma of Uhm Tae Goo.

PLOT: The CEO (and ex-gangster) of a Meat company which reintegrates into society former prisoners, meets the FL, Youtuber, content creator for children. Lots of misunderstandings, then complicity & love. The ML almost dismantled his father's gang (who is in prison, then released), but the rest of the gang was taken over by an evil crook. The father does everything to get his son back at the head of the gang...

What I liked:
+ Excellent actors, all. I didn't know Uhm Tae Goo before but he is amazing in this role. He carries the series on his shoulders. Han Sun Hwa is beautiful, but I often find her quite expressionless :(
+ Well-written, credible story. The production is efficient, without downtime, and with a good portion of humor. The images are beautiful and the framing is well done.
+ Pleasant OSTs that fit well with the emotions of the moment.

=> A non-memorable series (except the participation of Uhm Tae Goo) but very addictive and nice.

PLOT : Le CEO (et ex gangster) d'une Compagnie "de boucherie" qui réinsère d'anciens taulards, rencontre la FL, Youtubeuse, créatrice de contenu pour enfants. Bcp de malentendus, puis complicité & love. Le ML a presque démantelé le gang de son père (en prison, puis libéré), mais le reste du gang a été repris par un "tordu malfaisant". Le père fait tout pour récupérer son fils à la tête du gang ...

What I liked :
+ Excellents acteurs, tous. Je ne connaissais pas Uhm Tae Goo mais il est génial dans ce rôle. Il porte la série sur ses épaules. Han Sun Hwa est belle, mais je la trouve souvent assez inexpressive :(
+ Story bien écrite, crédible. La réalisation est efficace, sans temps mort, et avec une bonne part d'humour. Les images sont belles et les cadrages bien travaillés.
+ OST agréables et qui s'accordent bien aux émotions du moment.

=> Une série non mémorable (sauf la participation de Uhm Tae Goo ) mais très addictive et sympa.

PLOT: The FL, an unmotivated student with low self-esteem, is swallowed up one evening by a hole, and finds herself in another time, in the middle of a ritual of calling for rain. A disappointment for me, despite the great cast

I like the actors, but this story is twisted and ENDLESS!

PLOT: The FL, mage, meets the ML, 4th Prince, they fall in love. She becomes a Great Witch. The rule is that a mage cannot marry anyone from the imperial family (because of division of powers). But the lovers defy the prohibitions, and on the day of the wedding, there is a coup and it is a bloodbath. The Great Witch uses her 9 sacred stones to reset the "universe". She lands 1 year earlier, in another timeline ready to correct.

+++ Great cast, with excellent actors
+++ Good fight and war scenes
+++ The costumes are truly magnificent.

BUT :
### Convoluted story line, with TOO many characters, too many twists, too much of everything... We're treated to everything: black magic, "zombies", love triangles, power struggles, the inhumane and cruel emperor, corruption, indecisions of the lover of a girl (disguised as a man), etc. etc. TOO MUCH !!
### use of the green background evident in many scenes
### inconsistencies and plotholes in the story

=> Good start, but hard to finish...

PLOT: La FL, mage rencontre le ML, 4e Prince, ils tombent amoureux. Elle devient Grande Sorcière. La règle veut qu'1 mage ne peut pas épouser qq1 de la famille impériale (car division des pouvoirs). Mais les lovers bravent les interdits, et le jour du mariage, il y a 1 coup d'Etat et c'est 1 bain de sang. La Gde sorcière utilise ses 9 pierres sacrées pr réinitialiser "l'univers". Elle atterrit 1 an + tôt, ds 1 autre ligne de temps pr tt corriger.

+++ Great cast, avec excellents acteurs
+++ Bonnes scènes de fight et de guerre
+++ Les costumes sont vraiment magnifiques.

MAIS :
### Storyline alambiquée, avec TROP de personnages, trop de twists, trop de tout ... On a droit à tout : la magie noire, les "zombies", les love triangles, les luttes de pouvoir, l'empereur inhumain et cruel, la corruption, le lover d'1 fille déguisée en homme, etc. etc. TROP !!
### utilisation du fond vert évidente dans bcp de scènes
### incohérences et plotholes dans l'histoire

=> Bon début, mais du mal à aller jusqu'au bout (Speed X 1,5 & skipping) ...

A great cast, a good plot, but wasted by a production that tried to do too much!

PLOT: The FL, doctor and expert in poisons, is the disfigured and abused daughter of an imperial doctor. The Dowager Empress imposes an arranged marriage between the FL and the Qin Prince, the Emperor's feared brother (Emperor is cruel and paranoid). This imposed union, filled with distrust at first, will allow the couple to appreciate each other little by little. They will have to overcome conflicts, conspiracies, intrigues within the Court, and discover their true identities.

PROS:
+ A talented CL, (obviously, there is Zhang Zhe Han ლ(꒪ヮ꒪)ლ), with great chemistry.
+ An excellent ML2, Merxat Yalkun, who shines in this series (but no SLS for me) and many other talented actors.
+ A high budget, which is visible in the costumes, sets, action scenes.
+ Excellent OSTs.

BUT :
- The storyline has too many twists and secondary stories. It’s dragging on!! 48 episodes could have been cleverly shortened to 35 or 40.
- I know that power makes you crazy and paranoid, but some characters are excessive. Plus, it's all about the poison! It's illogical, even for Fantasy. The FL, skillful and clever, becomes a "damsel in distress" in the last third of the show :( Why???
- The production leaves something to be desired: too many flashbacks, unnecessary scenes and characters,... You have to hang on to get to the end (personally in speed X 1.5 or 2)
- The ending is too abrupt and unexplained.

=> A great cast, a good plot, but wasted by a production that tried to do too much!

L'impératrice douairière impose un mariage arrangé entre la FL et le 3e prince, frère redouté de l'empereur (cruel et parano). Ils devront surmonter les conflits, conspirations, intrigues au sein de la Cour, et découvrir leur véritable identité.

PROS:
+ Un CL de talent, (évidemment, il y a Zhang Zhe Han ლ(꒪ヮ꒪)ლ), avec une belle alchimie.
+ Un excellent ML2, Merxat Yalkun, qui brille dans cette série (mais pas de SLS for me) et beaucoup d'autres acteurs de talent.
+ Un gros budget, ce qui se voit au niveau des costumes, des décors, des scènes d'action.
+ D'excellents OST.

- La storyline comporte trop de twists, d'histoires secondaires. ça traine en longueur !! 48 épisodes auraient pu être raccourcis astucieusement à 35 ou 40.
- Je sais que le pouvoir rend fou et parano, mais certains personnages sont excessifs. De plus, tout tourne autour du poison ! C'est illogique, même pour de la Fantasy. La FL, habile et astucieuse, devient une "damsel in distress" dans le dernier tiers :( Why ???
- La réalisation laisse à désirer : trop de flash-backs, de scènes et de personnages inutiles,... Il faut s'accrocher pour aller au bout (personnellement en speed X 1,5 ou 2)
- La ending est trop brusque et inexpliquée.

=> Un super cast, un bon plot, mais gâchée par une réalisation qui a voulu en faire trop !

Mystery and Fantasy Drama witch builds suspense well.

PLOT: The FL, arrogant heiress, is sent to a parallel universe 7 years earlier, in a world where she finds herself poor, with nothing, in a small town. She is taken in by a former high school friend, the ML, and must face difficult living conditions, while wondering how to return to her world. The truth will be discovered step by step.

PROS:
+ An effective, rhythmic production, which maintains suspense until the end.
+ The actors (Lin Yi & Liu Hao Cun as CL) are excellent and show great chemistry. The supporting cast develops their characters well. Together, they make us experience this story intensely.
+ The story is a little "twisted" but generally coherent, without Great Villain, but with weirdos.
+ For once in a C Drama, the police are effective and play their role :)
+ I really enjoyed the OSTs.

CONS:
# Inconsistencies in the storyline. Some twists are not logical.
# I admit that I was not impressed by the immersion in the world of make-up...

Drama Mystère et Fantasy qui ménage bien le suspense.

PLOT: La FL, arrogante héritière, est envoyée dans un univers parallèle 7 ans plus tôt, dans un monde où elle se retrouve pauvre, sans rien, dans une petite ville. Elle est prise en charge par un ancien camarade de lycée, le ML, et doit faire face à des conditions de vie difficiles, tout en se demandant comment rentrer dans son monde. La vérité sera découverte peu à peu.

PROS:
+ Une réalisation efficace, rythmée, qui ménage le suspense jusqu'au bout.
+ Les acteurs ( Lin Yi & Liu Hao Cun en CL) sont excellents et montrent une belle alchimie. Les acteurs de soutien développent bien leur personnage. Ensemble, ils nous font vivre intensément cette histoire.
+ La story est un peu "tordue" mais globalement cohérente, sans Great Villain, mais avec des cinglés.
+ Pour une fois dans un C Drama, la police est efficace et joue son rôle :)
+ J'ai beaucoup apprécié les OST.

CONS:
