More people should watch it to know the truth behind cults
The whole documentary about religious cults is just fucking weird, because the cases in this documentary are all true events, which makes it even weirder. All of the cult leaders are basically criminals who commit crime using the name of the Lord, brainwashing people and deceiving their followers like a grand scale of scam. The documentary goes so deeply into how everything operated in those cults, it's hard to imagine why so many people would believe in this kind of stuff. A separation between predators and weaklings in this hopeless world
It reminds me on some of the great tvN and OCN hardcore crime dramas back in the day, though it now becomes more of a rare genre these days. This drama going digital on TVING is actually a wise decision, there's no more limits on the level of gore and psychotic scenes, which makes it intensely sick. The concept is extremely terrifying yet it feels so convincing because the sentiment is so strong in here. A technical reasoning on the separation between predators and weaklings, how some are able to gloss over their sins so easily and how some will be suffering for the rest of their life in this completely hopeless world, this drama will be able to speak for losers out there, fictionally at least.Esta resenha foi útil para você?
Hip concept is the main driver of the race
Absolutely crazy retro setting for a car action film, everything looks really cool and colorful, from a bunch of classic cars to vintage fashion, the production spent a whole lot of effort in the visual designs of this film. The story though took some time to start kicking, the first half is basically a flashy intro that lasted too long, things only get interesting when the team plans for the revenge grand scheme to take down the corrupted military dictatorship. The final car chase scenes have some intense moves but yet to be groundbreaking. A totally experimental and ridiculous action thriller that somehow able to achieve the director's ambitious vision. It's sort of a cyberpunk inspired third person virtual reality mixed bag, and I believe majority will be put off by its nauseating camera works, but getting motion sickness for 2 hours is totally worth it, I'm in for it. Joo Won gets extremely physical and maximum adrenaline in every action scene from the start to the end, not really sure whether it can be said as an enjoyable cinematic experience, but it does look sick as fuck. Chun Woohee's performance is really captivating especially in this type of psychological thriller genre. She's able to pull in every little attention to details and carry the whole heavy ambience of the movie, just like her previous work in "Vertigo", but this time even a more formidable upgrade with a blend of spicy mystery and horror in it. The cinematic effect of it is extremely eerie and scary, which works quite effectively in some of the best mental scenes ever in a korean movie, because who knows exactly what we are underneath this pretentious skin surrounded by modern pressure.Esta resenha foi útil para você?

Beautifully crafted warm melodrama with heart fluttering soundtrack, embraced by its soothing and mellow cinematography. The main driving plotline that upholds this drama is the brilliant education politics that triggers superbly tight tension between mind war, which has set up some of the very intriguing faceoff in the drama. It's ironic how a society that runs with the model of money has already decided the starting line of every young students by their ancestors even before they become an "adult". Whether they thrive through as what they called as "success", or someone who is on the another end of the spectrum, that do not know why they were always in debt, the contrast has already been planted since young age. In order to have a taste in that power, one can either run relentlessly without knowing where to end, or those who eventually stops fighting over it already knowing what is best for them. The drama cleverly uses the magician as a neutral device to tap into what their beliefs are, and he questions the consequences of both directions in a musical and magical fashion. Just like how the magician always ask, do you believe in magic? Not even close to Penthouse
A little over soapy rather than classy, nothing too special in its cinematography department, which is quite surprising given that it's a Netflix original, it somehow just look like drama that came out from the major tv stations. The pressure point and strategies they implemented won't make you scream as the script seems unimaginative, it sadly ended up with bland characters and largely repetitive dialogues that miss the mark. Like an extremely solid extended director's cut movie
This is how a proper monstrous drama should look like, an absolutely much better take compared to some of the Korean "monsterflix" lately that are mostly disappointing. The storyline has a lot of clever surprises along with characters that make hell lots of sense, character motivation is crystal clear even during highly complicated face-offs. The action sequences and graphics are so powerful it's totally top class cinema, the soundtrack plays an even bigger part in progressing the suspense, it's unbelievably well tuned to its fighting scenes. An extreme cult film that serves a very specific midnight thriller genre. Even though it is so bloody juicy throughout the film with blood gushing out everywhere at anytime, those bloodshed are somehow bland and tasteless because of its absurd storyline that is hardly believable . Based on true events, the legal battle in the movie against a company misconduct on a widely used household product is highly intriguing, which in real life has even caused fatality and permanent damage to its users over a decade. The narrative has really good pacing and well arranged details, it comes with a serious tone and even has a hint of espionage flavor in it that gives a pleasant surprise for viewers. The concept is actually nothing new but it does have the ability to uphold a high production value, despite it being quite a typical kdrama for most of the time. The cinematography is amazing, which looks like some really premium ballad music video, the calm and soothing feel is the whole highlight of the drama. The storyline has good direction but basically the logical sense can be ignored for good, fortunately it was able to capture the essence of how a public figure has to sacrifice their private lives in order to maintain their image for business. Superb duo and superb action
Extremely brilliant storytelling and highly intense action sequences, the director who got his fame with Kingdom series surely never disappoints with this diplomat ransom storyline. The chemistry between Ha Jung Woo and Ju Ji Hoon is impeccable as their characters went through an oddball collab to rescue the kidnapping of a Korean diplomat in a war torn country. The humor within it is subtle but cleverly implemented, and the action is packed with strong impact as they've made one of the best car fight scenes ever in the Korean cinematic history. The ending is especially tear jerking, mixing with complicated diplomatic relations while stressing the importance of media freedom and democratic society, what a meaningful action movie this is.Esta resenha foi útil para você?
So little has been done to its storyline
So much potential on the premise yet so little has been done to its storyline, let alone the style of shooting and overall structure of the drama. There's a mutant, a serial killer, bunch of thugs, and that's pretty much it, the story didn't really progress a lot despite having shorter runtime. The gore content also does look somewhat cartoonish where of course they're taking reference from that famous comicbook superhero production you know it. At least Jung Hae In and Go Kyung Pyo still did their best in their acting skills, which is the only thing appreciable in this drama.Esta resenha foi útil para você?
Unfolds like fine makgeolli
The plot style is none other than classic kdrama formula but that's not the problem here because the execution was so good it's worth its production value. It works great mainly due to the fact of it being only 4 parts weighing at 180 mins of total runtime, it's super lightweight yet able to fully support the storyline while eliminating excess clichés. The chemistry between the leads is so distinctive it unfolds like fine makgeolli, fizzy and tangy at first, but warm and bittersweet afterwards.Esta resenha foi útil para você?
