1. Meu Pequeno Monstro
Japanese Movie - 2018
You can definitely feel this movie comes from a manga. The characterization and some scenes are way too extreme and the pacing is too fast as if we are skipping quite a lot of moments potentially important for the characters' growth.
Overall though it's not bad. The acting wasn't excellent but I think the casting was properly done. The characters aren't realistic, but they are fun to watch.
Definitely to be watched only if you generally like manga/animes but you haven't read/watched this original version, since it might be disappointing otherwise...as it usually is with manga adaptations.

2. Encontrando o Sr. Destino
Korean Movie - 2010
This wasn't what I was expecting...and it was a very pleasant surprise!
I'm not a huge fan of Gong Yoo, but I loved his portrayal of the nerdy, fussy and eccentric Han Gi Joon. I did not expect that as I'm used to see him portraying usually confident, teasing and slightly arrogant MLs.
I also really liked the general vibe of the movie. I dunno why, but there's a certain 'French' feeling to it...It doesn't have much in common with it at all, but I thought about Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amélie Poulain while I was watching this movie. I know it's absurd...but well.

3. 200 Quilos de Beleza
Korean Movie - 2006
Well, this doesn't win any prizes for the smartest or deepest plot out there...but for 2 hours it was entertaining enough.
I definitely do not condone most of the messages conveyed, but it could have been far worse.
It's true though that I've yet to watch any romcom having an overweight/obese/ugly protagonist being cleverly made.Watched: 22/03/2020

4. Amor 911
Korean Movie - 2012
This movie doesn't look extremely polished, but that contributes to its charm and makes it feel more real.
The cast made a great job and the characters felt very real and behaved in a realistic manner throughout the movie.FL starts off rash, conceited and selfish, but she grew on me and by the middle of the movie I really felt for her.

5. The Plan Man
Korean Movie - 2014
I liked it!
Making a comedy about mental issues is always a bit touchy and I can feel why some people might not find this appealing. In any case I think the movie manages to pull off a good combination of hilarity and seriousness.
Personally I found the backstory revelation a bit too tragic, but it didn't ruin my overall enjoyment of the movie.Watched: 09/04/2020 - 10/04/2020

6. Clínica do Amor
Korean Movie - 2015
I was looking for something quick and fun, to have a short break during a binge-watching of a drama, which is why I stumbled upon this movie and out of curiosity I tried it out.
While I managed to complete it, it wasn't good. Not even for some mindless fun.
There was comedy, but it was very superficial and even at that, not exactly what I'd consider well done.
There might have been occasions for exploring some more deeper theme, but all conflicts were paper thin and I found that they got resolved in the easies ways possible.
The acting was off. Especially the ML, but the FL didn't pull me in either. In addition, the sex scenes between the SFL and his boyfriend were pointless. I couldn't see the relevance of them in the story and seemed thrown in just to push the 'mature' rating. It's was the same with some of the dialogue that was unnecessarily explicit. I wouldn't mind the sex scenes of explicit dialogue if they had a purpose (I had after all picked a R rated movie) but they seemed to be there just for the sake of being there and therefore felt forced.

7. Projeto Remodelação
Korean Movie - 2007
The message of the movie was nice, but it was kinda slow and not well paced.
I ended up fastforwarding a lot.

8. Parasita
Korean Movie - 2019
I was a little bit hesitant, but this movie is totally worth it!
I was already spoilt the plot, yet the movie was gripping and engaging. The cinematography is amazing, the acting flawless and the writing pretty darn perfect. I'm not giving it a 10 because I do prefer slightly more optimistic messages, but this was nonetheless a great watching experience.
