Favorite Dramas
WELCOME TO MY FAVORITE DRAMAS LIST! These are all of my dramas that I have rated 10 stars. You may discover flaws in them, but the point of these dramas to me is that I love them not in spite of their flaws, but because of their flaws (because these shows would not be the same without them). The dramas are listed in order (#1 being my absolute, absolute favorite). I hope that you enjoy them as much as I did, but be warned that not all of them have happy endings, and some of these caused me to quite literally choke on my tears. Happy watching!

1. Cinzas do Amor
Chinese Drama - 2018, 63 episodes
BEST DRAMA I HAVE EVER WATCHED. The story in this drama is unlike anything I have ever watched (in the best way possible). I wholeheartedly recommend watching this to anyone, the chemistry between the leads is crazy, the comedy is spot-on, and I don't think I've ever gotten as emotional over a drama as I did over this one (as in, I choked on my tears). The love is heart-wrenching on all accounts (meaning not only the leads, but also the side characters) and it is incredible to watch the extent to which the characters will go for their loved ones. I don't think I've ever watched a love story in which the characters were so devoted and so connected to each other, so that even the seemingly less powerful side of the relationship wields immense power over the other (to put it a little crassly). You will watch all of the characters (including the main characters) commit heinous and horrible acts out of love, making this drama all the more resonant and profound. This drama is permanently imprinted on my heart, and to this day I still debate with myself and my heart about whether the actions that the characters did were right or wrong, and whether I would have done anything differently. It's a little hard to answer. WATCH IT, YOU WON'T REGRET IT :)

2. Quando Éramos Jovens
Chinese Drama - 2018, 24 episodes
I LOVE THIS DRAMA. PERIOD. This drama exceeded my expectations and deserves more recognition. I love how realistic it feels - the characters are in a stage of growing up, unsure of how they're feeling and trying to make some last high school memories before the future (adulthood) splits them apart. These kids are all strong in their own ways, and the drama places great emphasis on the selfless nature of friendships, the unity within a class, and that sometimes, the people around you can make you stronger than you can ever be by yourself. Possibly one of the most inspiring and optimistic dramas I've watched so far :) (more comments to come once I finish watching next week...)

3. O Sorriso Deixou Seus Olhos
Korean Drama - 2018, 16 episodes
THIS MAY NOT BE YOUR CUP OF TEA, BUT IT SURE AS HELL WAS MINE. The chemistry between the leads is insane, the characters are twisted but so intriguing and seductive (TBH NGL) and you'll find yourself rooting for things you never thought you would root for and possibly discovering darker sides of yourself (not really sure if that's what you want but why not). I desperately wanted the main characters to be together despite the fact that doing so would hurt not only the people around them, but themselves as well. This drama is that emotionally powerful. Don't miss the tragedy tag, but this drama had to have had the most sensible, beautifully poetic, fulfilling ending I have ever watched, almost to the extent where I don't consider it tragic. It's moody, artistic and gorgeous, I really had a lot of thoughts about it, and I definitely recommend it if you're looking for a darker, gloomier drama. HAPPY WATCHING!

4. Amor Eterno
Chinese Drama - 2017, 58 episodes
THE OST OF THIS DRAMA OMG. I had to comment on the music of this drama first, because it's been a while since I've finished this drama but I still have the songs on repeat over and over, they're absolutely insane. I enjoyed the complexity of this drama; the main couple was beautiful and heartwarming, the action scenes powerful and poignant, the message of love truly unforgettable. This drama is a perfect example that a long drama does not necessarily mean that it is hard to get through or to stay enchanted with: the pacing is perfect, and the concept of living various lifetimes but remaining fated to be lovers is tragic and lovely. This is honestly the perfect first C Drama to watch, so dive right in and get swept away by the magical world that awaits :)

5. A Fada do Levantamento de Peso, Kim Bok Joo
Korean Drama - 2016, 16 episodes
THIS DRAMA IS SWAG! (lol that was cringe but I had to >.< ) As cute as the romantic chemistry in this show was, what really made this show stand out to me is the emphasis on familial bonds and the struggle of self acceptance (and self love!) that pop up throughout the majority of the drama. In a sense, this is a coming-of-age story that is all too realistic, all too relatable, all too heart-breaking, and all too lovely, and I am more than sure that every viewer can connect to the story/the characters in his/her own way. Regarding the romance, though, I have to admit that I swooned more than a few times. I had a great time hanging out with the SWAG team and experiencing a true slice-of-life and youthful drama. FIGHTING!

6. Mulher Forte, Do Bong Soon
Korean Drama - 2017, 16 episodes
THIS DRAMA IS ALL ABOUT HAVING A GOOD TIME. Continuing... major bonus points goes to this drama for a male lead who doesn't feel inferior AT ALL to a clearly stronger female lead (WE DON'T STAN TOXIC MASCULINITY) and for super fun, super cute, and super swoon-worthy characters (damn I love Park Hyungsik). The concept of this drama is simply just hilarious, and I loved every second of it. It's an extremely light drama (you don't have to worry about bringing out the tissues for this one!) but that doesn't mean that you won't fall absolutely in love. If you're looking for something adorable, watch this!!!!!!
