Romance Done The Way I Like It - Drama Edition
Romance dramas done the way I like it. How do I like it? Hot & passionate! Not all the dramas on this list will meet this criterion, but the dynamic of the relationship & chemistry between the leads are on point in a way that I feel it should, which is natural and mature. No awkward, cringeworthy interactions. I hate childish, slapstick humour type romances where sexual tension is only alluded to through dialogue, but you neither see nor feel any chemistry between the leads. Cunning Single Lady & Korean Fated To Love You would be good examples of this, which is why they're NOT on this list.

1. Too Late to Say I Love You
Chinese Drama - 2010, 36 episodes
One of the most passionate couples, bar none!
-
2. Lovers
Korean Drama - 2006, 20 episodes
The buildup of sexual tension, culminating into one of the most passionate scenes ever, is exquisite!
-
3. MARS
Taiwanese Drama - 2004, 13 episodes
Their love, and physical interactions, can be summarized into two words: healing passion!
-
4. Diz Que Você Me Ama
Japanese Drama - 1995, 12 episodes
The sweet sentimentalism of love was so well done here! I will forever hold a grudge against the writer for messing up the ending, but the first 8 episodes are amazing!
-
5. O Homem da Princesa
Korean Drama - 2011, 24 episodes
Fight for your man, girl! This drama worked for me because you had a heroine who was defiant & NOT afraid to go up against her powerful parents for the right to live her life as she pleased, at a time when such behaviour was practically unheard of. Yup, my type of woman.
-
6. Tudo Bem, Isso é Amor
Korean Drama - 2014, 16 episodes
Finally, a Korean drama with grown folks, for grown folks, by grown folks! I loved the dynamic of this relationship, the spontaneity of touch & how natural their physical interactions were.

7. Nine: Nove Vezes Viajante do Tempo
Korean Drama - 2013, 20 episodes
I can't stand Jo Yoon Hee, seriously, but the time - travel/fantasy elements and the affable Lee Jin Wook saved it for me. To be fair, the romantic element was not as bad as it could've been. Jo Yoon Hee would kinda sorta kiss Lee Jin Wook back ... on occasion. I still wished they had cast a more passionate FL, but oh well...!
-
8. Príncipe do Café
Korean Drama - 2007, 17 episodes
One of my gateway dramas into K-dramaland, and I certainly wasn't disappointed when it came to the romance. When you pair two master kissers like Gong Yoo and Yoon Eun Hye ... sparks gone fly and they did! Story itself was a bit meh and a lot draggy in certain parts, but it's tolerable with the FF button!
-
9. O Patrão e Eu
Chinese Drama - 2014, 34 episodes
Cuteness overload, and one of the most dapper MLs ever!
-
10. Orgulho
Japanese Drama - 2004, 11 episodes
No passion in Japan if it wasn't for Kimura Takuya! This man can kiss so well ... to the point of devouring your head. That sounds weird, but trust me it isn't. You'll want to live vicariously through the FL!!!
-
11. Orange Days
Japanese Drama - 2004, 11 episodes
Nice, supportive romance between a nice, lovable guy and a vulnerable, but feisty pretty girl. They made such a perfect match! In general, this drama was pure nostalgia for those carefree days when you had time to spend with friends & the only worry you had was making it through finals.

12. A Prefeitura
Korean Drama - 2009, 20 episodes
-
13. Buzzer Beat
Japanese Drama - 2009, 11 episodes
-
14. Beautiful Life
Japanese Drama - 2000, 11 episodes
-
15. O Mundo em que Eles Vivem
Korean Drama - 2008, 16 episodes
-
16. Amando, Nunca Esquecendo
Chinese Drama - 2014, 34 episodes
I don't care what nobody say, I love me some Jerry! And I liked him in this role! The man knows how to handle a woman! ;)
-
17. Nós Temos um Grande Problema
Japanese Drama - 2019, 10 episodes
