Piecing a person's life together
Films and dramas with a focus on one character piecing together the life of another person.
Generally, this trope features in stories where either A) the main character is searching for a missing person, so they have to learn about that person in order to find them or B) main character is learning about the life of a dead person.
Often, this trope involves the main character learning that the other person is nothing like how they originally believed them to be. Like, they thought the other person was good and innocent but they're actually a terrible person, or something.

Honestly one of my favourite films, it bestowed me with a very important lesson
