Highly Inaccessible Cdrama Masterpieces You Shouldn't Watch

No subs, bad subs, hopelessly untranslatable subs.  360p quality, dollar-store props, CGI generated by a graphing calculator.  Dated hairdo, dated acting styles, dated social values.  

The list of what makes these shows inaccessible is quite long.  Yet their considerable acclaim and stratospheric Douban ratings  must have been based on something.

What are some Cdrama greats that are mercilessly inaccessible (even to native speakers), but still worth a watch? Thanks in Advance.  (I'm trying to make a list of the older, ideally 2000-2015, Cdramas to conquer when I'm feeling like a highbrow masochist)
