my favorite dramas/movies/short films of all time
-
1. Move to Heaven
Korean Drama - 2021, 10 episodes
This show oh my goodness. Every episode had me in tears. I love the variety in the stories from an elderly couple, a younger man, and even a queer couple. I love the main characters. I also enjoyed the story of the main characters pasts being woven into each episode.

2. Cherry Magic! Thirty Years of Virginity Can Make You a Wizard?!: The Movie
Japanese Movie - 2022
This movie is even better than the original show. All the plotlines explored are some of my favorite tropes in cinema. I won't ever shut up about them, they are so cute together.
-
3. Cherry Magic!
Japanese Drama - 2020, 12 episodes
One of the best shows ever made. The romance in this drama is so wholesome and sweet. If any couple in any show is made for each other, they are, they are literally soul mates.
-
4. O Mundo da Perseguição
Japanese Movie - 2015
The best Japanese movie ever. It's so crazy and trippy, you don't know what is going on half the time. After two watched, I understood the story and meaning more which made me love it even more. If you love crazy Japanese horror, this is a must watch.
-
5. Battle Royale
Japanese Movie - 2000
A very gruesome movie with a surprisingly sad plot. I've watched this film a few times and the atmosphere of it is kind of sad, like the chill of winter. It's gory but not in a showy way, a sad way.
-
6. Alice na Fronteira 2
Japanese Drama - 2022, 8 episodes
Even better than the first season, and the ending had me shocked. Please watch this show if you haven't.
-
7. Alice na Fronteira
Japanese Drama - 2020, 8 episodes
Basically a MASTERPIECE. Nothing more needed.
-
8. Eien no Kino
Japanese Drama - 2022, 8 episodes
I binge watched this show in one night, needless to say, I was crying my eyes out at 3am. Do you want to cry? Watch this show.
-
9. Kaibutsu
Japanese Movie - 2023
Although it did take me 2-3 days to watch this movie, I enjoyed it more than most movies I've seen. This story was so touching and sad at the same time, tears were shed.
-
10. Um Milhão de Vezes Amor
Japanese Drama - 2023, 10 episodes
There aren't very many Japanese dramas available on Netflix so when I saw this one, I was interested. I didn't know what to expect or what it was about really but I was so extremely surprised. The plot is so interesting and well done. Some parts of humorous while others will leave you crying for hours.
-
11. 18 Outra Vez
Korean Drama - 2020, 16 episodes
I didn't know what to expect from this drama when I watched it, but I feel in love with it almost instantly. The acting is amazing and, though simple, the storyline pulled me in making me want to watch the next episode every time. It has humor, sadness, happiness, and everything you could want.
-
12. The First Love Story
Korean Special - 2021, 2 episodes
Short films usually aren't my thing, but this one is so good. I wish this storyline was a full show. Although short, it's worth a watch for the sweet romance story.
-
13. Cherry Magic: Tsuge & Minato
Japanese Special - 2020, 1 episode
This is the best of the two short films/specials for Cherry Magic. It is kind of weird that they made one of the actors look much older and the other much younger, even though they are actually a similar age. I enjoyed seeing an episode more focused on their story since they weren't in the main show very much.
-
14. Good Morning Call
Japanese Drama - 2016, 17 episodes
Forced proximity is one of my favorite tropes. This show is so comforting. I love the different episodes set during different holidays and seasons, it adds comfort and emersion to the series.
-
15. Cherry Magic: Dia dos Namorados / Rokkaku
Japanese Special - 2020, 1 episode
One of the two short films/specials for Cherry magic. I love that this episode feels like an actual episode that would be included in the show, rather than just a random special. It is a bit boring in part of it, but I do really love the storyline.
-
16. Kimi no Hana ni Naru
Japanese Drama - 2022, 10 episodes
As a kpop/krock and jpop/jrock fan, this show is so so comforting. The plot is simple and straight forward, I just enjoy watching the groups grow closer, overcome struggles and find successes as the show goes on
-
17. As the Gods Will
Japanese Movie - 2014
It's a classic Japanese movie. Every part of it feels like a fever dream. It doesn't feel like a fully completed story, but what is there is so good. The different sets remind me of shows like Squid Games and Alice In Borderland or a movie like Tag. It's very dark but colorful.
-
18. Querido
Japanese Movie - 2018
I went into this movie not expecting much. Japan has a lot of B level romance movies that are enjoyable to watch, but nothing new. While this is that, I think this one stands out from the rest. I love the characters, plot, and overall storyline. I love how this movie handles it's plotlines. So many movies like these seem to rush things but I didn't feel that this one did.
-
19. Destinado a Te Amar
Taiwanese Drama - 2008, 24 episodes
I love this show, it's a new comfort show for me. I really enjoyed the first half, but then the plot twists around and it's not as interesting to me anymore. Some of the plotlines are dragged out and there is a bit too much drama, but it is still so good.
-
20. Crush Secreto em Você
Thai Drama - 2022, 14 episodes
This was the first BL I ever watched. Am I wearing rose tented glasses? Maybe, but I do really enjoy this show. Although he annoyed me at first, I can relate to Toh in some ways. I also really liked the other couple, I wish they had more screen time. Also, Daisy #1 best character ever.
-
21. Jack Frost
Japanese Drama - 2023, 6 episodes
This show is really short but so good. I love the vibe, it's like sitting by the fire while it's snowing outside. the 4th and 5th episodes have a kind of bitter sweet feeling. I love the coziness, the area they live in feels so cozy even though it's obviously a large city. They are also such a cute couple fr.
-
22. Espíritos - A Morte está ao Seu Lado
Thai Movie - 2004
Such a good movie. Look up TW before watching if that's something you need. It starts as a pretty good horror movie, but then I understood what was happening and it just became a really sad movie.
-
23. Love is Dang Nyang Dang Nyang
Korean Drama - 2022, 11 episodes
I'm not usually a big fan of Korean web dramas but this one is cute. It's not a super deep story of course, but it's good for what it is. I enjoyed that both of them got a romance plot, I kind of preferred the second couple more actually. It's also pretty emotional and sad in some parts which I wasn't expecting.
-
24. Gonjiam: Hospital Maldito
Korean Movie - 2018
I love found footage. This one has a few unique features, but a lot of it feels like so many other found footage movies. I just love the set and thrill of this film.
-
25. Todos Nós Estamos Mortos
Korean Drama - 2022, 12 episodes
I was shocked by how much I enjoyed this show. I tend to not really enjoy the popular Korean Horror Dramas, but this one is different. The story is compelling, the characters are lovable, and the pacing is wonderful. I love the bits and pieces of the show unraveling as the show progressing. I am very excited for season 2 next year!
-
26. Reino
Korean Drama - 2019, 6 episodes
I'm usually not super interested in zombie dramas but this was so good. I love the historical and political elements. I also love the interesting aspect given to the zombies. The first episode was a little slow and some parts were confusing, but overall, it's such a good show!
-
27. Good Morning Call - Nossos Dias no Campus
Japanese Drama - 2017, 10 episodes
Not as good as the first season. It falls flat in some aspects compared to the first season, but overall, it's so good.
-
28. You Are My Favorite
Thai Drama - 2023, 12 episodes
This dramas is what I needed from the Thai BL scene. I love that it has a good plot with romance as well. I usually love anything that involves time travel or manipulation of time. I feel like the pairing could have been better, I don't think they had much chemistry, but I love this drama for the stories and characters mainly.
-
29. #Alive
Korean Movie - 2020
This movie is short, sweet, and to the point. Because it's a movie, they don't explore absolutely everything, but it does a good job of portraying the story in the hour and a half run time. They put a unique spin on zombie that I have never seen done before. The plot was very streamline and was always interesting to the very end.
-
30. Hold Me
Korean Movie - 2021
This short film is really cute, it takes place at graduation. It's just so wholesome.
-
31. 20th Century Girl
Korean Movie - 2022
I felt like the ending was kind of rushed, but I loved the 90's colorful aesthetic of the rest of the film.
-
32. Rastros de um Sequestro
Korean Movie - 2017
One of the best films I've EVER seen, when I tell you I NEVER saw most of these twists coming. The atmosphere is soooo good.
-
33. Assunto de Família
Japanese Movie - 2018
