Dropped
I used to not like dropping dramas and forced myself to finish anything I started. But that was before my 'to watch list' grew to unattainable heights. Why burden myself with mediocrity when there are potential gems waiting to be found? However, the leading cause of death here? Boredom.
-
1. A Love So Beautiful
Chinese Drama - 2017, 23 episodes
- Had this on-hold for a couple of years and lets be honest, I'm not getting back into it so I've decided to drop it. Tragic but not really.
- It was cute at first but got really boring...I did not care for either of the leads (esp the ML's character who I found really annoying...also he had absolutely ZERO FACIAL EXPRESSION the entire time so there was that too...)
-
2. Aftermath
Korean Drama - 2014, 5 episodes
- Only saw a couple of minutes into the 1st episode and maybe I was being a bit too shallow but it had poor production quality and I wasn't a huge fan of the ml so I dropped it :/
- Will maybe pick up again
-
3. Atenção, Amor!
Taiwanese Drama - 2017, 15 episodes
- It got soooo boring. I could not care less about the characters or what was happening.
- FL going after the ML, even tho he was so cold/rude and had absolutely no facial expressions the entire time, really cheesed me.
- Then they introduced the love triangle and that's when I cut (the SML did have the most adorable dimples tho).
- I know this drama was pretty popular but it just wasn't my cup of tea.
-
4. Bad Thief, Good Thief
Korean Drama - 2017, 50 episodes
- Started watching this for the cast but it got wayyy too draggy and I wasn't going to sit through another 34 episodes of it...
- This could have been better as a 16 episode drama
-
5. Homem de Ferro
Korean Drama - 2014, 18 episodes
- I might have judged this one too quickly but it seemed a bit...ridiculous...
- Will maybe pick up again
-
6. Devil Inspector
Korean Drama - 2017, 9 episodes
- Only saw a couple minutes into the 1st episode and it didn't seem worthwhile
- Had low production quality, acting was meh to cringey and story didn't pique my interest
-
7. Lutas Céu Afora
Chinese Drama - 2018, 45 episodes
- Only saw 2 epis and the ml was already pissing me off
- I remember watching a scene where he was literally throwing a tantrum because he got rejected by a girl...which I found annoying as hell (would love to know if he had any character development and becomes less annoying? If so, I might pick it up again since I like Leo Wu)
-
8. Alerta de Amor
Korean Drama - 2018, 16 episodes
- Started it for the fake relationship trope but then it got boring and I wasn't a fan of either leads acting
-
9. Frankenstein no Koi
Japanese Drama - 2017, 10 episodes
- There was a scene in the 1st episode where mushrooms started growing on the ML or something? I really couldn't get past that
- Will maybe pick up again
-
10. O Rei do Ensino Médio
Korean Drama - 2014, 17 episodes
- The whole concept of a grown ass woman dating/marrying a high schooler (I didn't get too far into this drama but from what they were building up to and from the comments I read it seems like this happens???) was just wrong and I couldn't get past that...otherwise this could have been fun
-
11. Eu Preciso de Romance 3
Korean Drama - 2014, 16 episodes
- Don't really remember watching this or why I stopped...I think it got a bit boring?
-
12. Iceman 3D
Hong Kong Movie - 2014
- Donnie Yen + time travel = I was soooo excited to watch this
- It was beyond ridiculous and I couldn't get through half the movie before I had to drop it...so sad
- The acting/cgi/dubbing/editing??? was so bad??? why???
-
13. Juiz contra Juiz
Korean Drama - 2017, 32 episodes
- Pacing was too slow and I came to realize I'm not a huge fan of this ML....
-
14. Malabaristas
Korean Drama - 2017, 16 episodes
- It started off ok but then once it got too slow/boring I put it on hold, then in my "will someday finish" list and now 3 years later I think I'm ready to let it go.
- My 1st Daniel Choi drama. He was ridiculously tall esp compared to the FL.
- The romance felt a bit sudden/random. Maybe it was their lack of chemistry or just poor writing.
-
15. Ser Rei Não é Fácil
Chinese Drama - 2017, 20 episodes
- This might have been one of the first few C-dramas I tried watching and I just wasn't feeling it
- Will maybe pick up again
-
16. Vamos Comer
Korean Drama - 2013, 16 episodes
- Really wanted to watch this for the food porn but the story itself was boring and I'm not a fan of this ML
-
17. Amor de iniciantes
Japanese Movie - 2012
- I don't even think I got half way through but it got soo boring I dropped it in frustration. It was too long with nothing substantial happening.
- I started it solely for Tori (didn't even know Kento had a supporting role) but yea even he couldn't keep me interested plus his character annoyed me a lot. I did not like the female character at all either.
- All the characters, the story, the directing, the lack of a good OST, everything made it so bland (maybe it gets better later on but honestly I don't really care anymore...it seems like a very typical shoujo movie..)
- I didn't realize until I read the JP title that I read this manga a longggg time ago!
-
18. Horrivelmente Adorável
Korean Drama - 2018, 32 episodes
- Honestly this was a bit boring (had this on-hold for a long time but lets be real I'm never going to finish it)
- Wasn't feeling the ML (his acting seemed awks), the main leads chemistry was also very awks and I remember Lee Gwang Ki was in it but even that noona romance was a bit awks as well
- I originally started it for the FL (seen her in Frozen Flower and Running Man) and for the supernatural genre (was hoping it would kind of be like The Guest but I guess not). I did like her character set up tho since it was different and interesting but not enough to keep me watching.
-
19. Mestre Demônio Não Me Beije
Chinese Drama - 2017, 23 episodes
- ML had no facial expressions and his character (very cold/rude to the FL) was really annoying me. Their relationship just seemed toxic so no thank you.
- Saw some clips of it on youtube after where they summed the entire plot of 23 episodes into 2-3 mins....
-
20. Espelho da Feiticeira
Korean Drama - 2016, 20 episodes
- This was one of my 1st kdramas! (watched on viki)
- I thought I watched a lot of it but apparently I only got to episode 9??!
- Back then I thought the FL was a lot older than she actually was but now I look at her, she looks like a baby!
- It was ok but it got a bit ridicolous (over the top?) and the storyline started dragging. I'm sorry to have to drop it.
- Will maybe pick up again (if for nothing else at least for nostalgia's sake)
-
21. Amantes da Lua
Korean Drama - 2016, 20 episodes
- Angst everywhere
- Got the ending spoiled for me - not going to finish it
- IU's acting was just meh here (this was my 1st drama I saw her in and I didn't think much of her as an actress but she has vastly improved and is now one of my faves)
- Also the 1st drama where I really started noticing Joon Gi (think I saw Arang and the Magistrate before this but I wasn't compelled by his character there).
-
22. Meu Namorado Incrível
Chinese Drama - 2016, 28 episodes
- The ML was just so unexpressive??
- I don't know why but I felt a bit claustrophobic watching this drama. I don't know...
-
23. Minha Adorável Sam Soon
Korean Drama - 2005, 16 episodes
- I find it hard to watch older K-dramas sometimes and I found this one a bit boring/didn't pique my interest
- Will maybe pick up again
-
24. Oh My Grace
Korean Drama - 2017, 7 episodes
- I'm sorry but this was just all round a MESS
- The guy was really cute but otherwise this was a disaster
-
25. Nosso Momento de Glamour
Chinese Drama - 2018, 50 episodes
- Skimmed through the 1st few episodes
- The acting seemed very shallow and it felt overly fluffy for the topic/setting.
-
26. Parallel Love
Chinese Drama - 2020, 24 episodes
- Randomly started this drama for the parallel universe tag but I ended up skimming through most of the episodes I did watch
- Right off the bat, I found the dubbing horrid, choppy/lazy editing/direction (is this typical for low budget C-dramas?)
- The story made no sense like even the writers had no idea where the story was going? (just a bunch of clichés mashed together incoherently)
- I did not like the FLs acting (she was so unexpressive the entire time, even when she found out she's in a parallel universe?) and I also didn't like her character (why would she attack a random person she just met for the 1st time like that? that's really weird)
- I liked the MLs acting so much better than the FL (which was funny since I thought he would be the weakest link) but his character was so immature so I didn't like him either. I thought I didn't know any of the leads but turns out the ML is the guy from Master Devil Do Not Kiss Me? I couldn't recognize him with the long hair haha
- Leads interactions was cute but literally nothing else in this drama made me want to continue
- I did skip to the last episode to see how they dealt with the whole parallel universe story and yea it made no sense (typical cdrama censorship I'm guessing)...
-
27. Parceiros Pela Justiça
Korean Drama - 2018, 32 episodes
- Couldn't get into this one
-
28. Rugal
Korean Drama - 2020, 16 episodes
- Wrote a whole review on why this was the biggest disappointment of the year for me: https://mydramalist.com/profile/rooj75/reviews/93247
-
29. Jardim Secreto
Korean Drama - 2010, 20 episodes
- Tbh this got really boring and I didn't like the FLs acting here. I just got to the part where they switched so maybe it gets better? but at this point I don't care enough to watch it. I know it's a classic but I guess it just isn't my cup of tea.
-
30. Escândalo em Sungkyunkwan
Korean Drama - 2010, 20 episodes
- I really liked the 1st half but then it lost its momentum and became boring
- I had it on hold for the longest time but now I can't get back into it (I was never a huge fan of the ML to begin with so I really couldn't get myself to continue it).
-
31. Academia para Super Estrelas
Chinese Drama - 2016, 30 episodes
- I apparently watched 12 episodes of this????? I can't even remember anything about it??? what is this omg
- Will maybe pick up again
-
32. That Man Oh Soo
Korean Drama - 2018, 16 episodes
- Only watched the 1st few episodes and it was boring
- Also couldn't stand watching the ML anymore
-
33. A Noiva de Habaek
Korean Drama - 2017, 16 episodes
- This was disappointing. They should have stuck to the manhwa plot...
- I felt the acting was bland (by both main leads esp the FL) and the story...what was the story even...I can't remember anymore
- I found the second couple more interesting
-
34. A Evolução do Nosso Amor
Chinese Drama - 2018, 40 episodes
- Boring
- The "nice guy being friendzoned/ignored by the girl he likes even though he hasn't told her" shit was annoying af
- I liked this ML actor in Medical Examiner Dr. Qin but only because of his banter with the FL there and the genre of that show. Here he is just sooooo bland.
- I couldn't take 40 epis of this
-
35. The Mole Song: Undercover Agent Reiji
Japanese Movie - 2014
- Definitely had the explicit violence you would expect from some of Miike's works but even that I could stomach. It was more of the comedy that was off for me.
- The over the top acting/expressions unfortunately made me drop the movie not even half way through. (I thought it was over the top even by Japanese standards)
-
36. The Night of the Comet
Chinese Drama - 2019, 16 episodes
- I was actually looking forward to watching this for the parallel worlds/cross-world travelling tag
- But this seemed so shallow and boring (tbh I think I was just expecting too much and got disappointed so that's on me...)
-
37. Os Inconquistáveis
Korean Drama - 2018, 32 episodes
- I really wanted to continue watching this one for the ML but it was so slow and boring??
- This was more of an insta love (not a fan of those). They just liked each other so suddenly it seemed random. They also lacked chemistry and looked very awkward with each other.
- I didn't like the second couple (the dude was annoying af and tho I did like the trainer, she was acting so naïve for a grownass woman, it was cheesing me).
- The FL literally had the same facial expression the entire time
- ML looked hella good in this one but even he couldn't save it (he also seemed very monotone in most scenes as well). Goodbye
-
38. Dr. Jin
Korean Drama - 2012, 22 episodes
- It would have been ok if it wasn't so unrealistic (ok I know its a time travel drama but still...how is it that everyone he comes across has an issue with their brain and him just opening up their heads cures them??) - I couldn't go thru 19 more epis of that...
- I think this was one of my first medical dramas I tried to watch and it just annoyed me so much
-
39. Dois Tiras
Korean Drama - 2017, 32 episodes
- Hmm I always meant to go back and finish this one but it was getting boring and I don't think I care enough about what happens next to continue
- Will maybe (a very big maybe) pick up again?
-
40. Detetive Vampiro
Korean Drama - 2016, 12 episodes
- I couldn't watch it after a couple of episodes...it was a bit cringey and boring
-
41. Operation Love
Chinese Drama - 2017, 32 episodes
- Started it for Lay but it was a bit boring
- Will maybe pick up again
-
42. O Patrão e Eu
Chinese Drama - 2014, 34 episodes
- Soooo boring
- This really didn't need to be 33 episodes long. The 9 episodes I did watch seemed to stretch to eternity.
- Also too many love triangles/squares/whatever
- I did like the main leads but why is it soooo long
-
43. Estrela Cadente
Korean Drama - 2022, 16 episodes
- Just really couldn't get into this one
- kinda disliked it after the 1st episode so meh
-
44. Suspicious Partner
Korean Drama - 2017, 40 episodes
- I did enjoy the 1st half but it started dragging soooo much and I got bored
-
45. O Conto da Raposa de Nove Caudas
Korean Drama - 2020, 16 episodes
- This got really popular but I really couldn't get into this one either
- I didn't find the leads interesting
- I know the SML got a nice character arc but I really couldn't care enough to start this up again
