unbeliebubble:I am puzzled about a concept: If someone can help me understand it
Miscellous question :
in dramaland can the Title of Empress be bestowed to the late wife of a widower, after he becomes Emperor?
I mean, if his wife is dead before he takes the throne, there is no Empress, only an Emperor.
Because technically a title needs to be bestowed via an imperial decree.
And that Imperial decree would have to be received by the Empress in this case.
Sorry to disturb.
In dramaland, the scriptwriter/emperor make the rules so anything goes. Hahaha... i suppose yes because titles can be bestowed to those who died. But the empress is supposed to manage the whole royal household for the emperor so having a dead empress does not serve its purpose.
Fiona_HOD:Hope I got it right. 6 versions.
First time seeing ZYC’s brother btw. I did watch the first 10 minutes of YY Master. Didn’t attract me though. Will try again.
Fiona, I was like u.. didn’t think Edward’s YY master was dat engaging/good. I rewatched recently and changed my mind. It is indeed a good show. Not a BL or even strong bromance to me. But the storytelling was good.
Fiona_HOD:Dance versions as follows:-
First version with Riley and LiLun; Second version with Ryan; Third version with AiMi; Fourth version with the good and bad Bithchang and LiLun; Fifth version with BingYi and YingLong; Sixth version with the regulars including LiLun and his assistant /lover Ao something. Twice was just everyone together no dance. I am not sure if I miss any…. Oh they should had included didi’s brother since they included PSJ’s brother.
Wah u know best! Thanks fiona!
I watched a few versions. So very cute. Hahaha they could have gone with simpler moves so everyone can follow. Tjr and cdu look like doing exercise. Ryan is 1 step behind the rest. Hahaha..

I have been told that, only dowager receive posthumous titles. ( In this case the title + the properties, she would have to manage (historically) ). But it makes perfect sense that an Emperor wouldn't bestow a title to his late wife. In that case, who would manage the royal harem. Except if the Emperor decides to keep no royal harem.
So historically that would be impossible but indeed writers can do what ever they want to do.
Thank you @Joa, the concept is clearer.

I only remember clearly like maybe 4 and confirm with the videos I had recorded. I gone nuts with this troupe. Before the drama was aired videos of them dancing already surface in platform. I paid attention and didn’t know what was going on only knew is from a drama. Xixi drama only dance at the end of the drama but this troupe all credit and what make it interesting that the dance included guests.
Joa :) ChunTian :)
I bawled during RanYi’s death and PSJ’s didi’s death. I do not know why I suddenly stop crying during ChengHuang and Fei’s story. I really fall for Fei but don’t know why I didn’t bawl like before. Maybe the sadness was repeated on and on that I feel boring? Or they added so much humor? However the sadness and heartbreak is there. Feel painful for them but just could not cry anymore. Suddenly tears flowing on and off at forgotten what episode was that and when reach 30 started bawling throughout till episode 34 so tiring hahahha
I will rewatch. I need that. Anyone with me?
Anyone watching FOF reacted this?

Hahaha not really. They are too young. I think zyz and ll are just very good looking and nice to stare. But not in the "hot" sense.

Same here. The stories were probably too similar. I didnt really feel much sadness when it came to cheng huang. Unlike the first..

Same I only think of them like my baby brother. Neo and YanAn can be my son but I am not done with my university yet lol just started not long hahahha. The rest 3 can be my sons hahhaa. Ying Lei same age as my daughter, didi older 1 year older than my daughter and Lester one year younger her than my youngest lol shhhhhh yes am older than the rest of you here…..
Fiona_HOD:What was the answer? I read a few times to understand your question.
@FIONA. I wondered if a widower who becomes Emperor, can after his coronation bestow the title of Empress to his late wife.
Normally No. Because, for a title to be bestowed, the recipient must accept the decree read by the eunuch. Thus, if there is no wife, then there is no title.
The answer is : Historically, the only posthumous title that can be bestowed is the title of Dowager. This title is bestowed by the new Emperor ( often the son of the late Emperor ).
So, a newly crowned widower can never bestow a title of Empress to his late wife. However, as @JOA pointed out , writers can do whatever they want in dramas, therefore a deceased Empress who cannot manage the Royale Household and thus the Royal Harem can exist in dramaland.
However, in the drama I watched, the maids servants spoke about the late wife of the Emperor as the Empress. And the Emperor did not keep a harem. So historically, that situation would be accurate.
I was trying to understand the ending of a drama. Those directors are making the endings, more and more complex to let everybody free to believe whatever they want to. And often, that leads are dead. Because they LOVE sad endings. I wanted to know if the heroine survived.
Yes, she survived. But a lot of people think she died. *SMH*
Whereas she survived several years and it's a type of Happy Ending.
